Description
【0001】
<img src="http://www.foo.co.jp/image001.gif"> …(1)
<img src="http://www.foo.co.jp/P20T5Z2.gif"> …(2)
<img src="http://www.foo.co.jp/R1996.7.6.13.15.P25T0Z3.gif"> …(3)
<img src="http://www.foo.co.jp/G/817b7abda93043a1a15d4546ca779bc16.gif"> …(4)
http://www.foo.co.jp/G/ …(6)
<img src="http://cam.foo.co.jp/cameraimage?P=20,T=5,Z=2,F=gif">
<img src="http://cam.foo.co.jp/cgi-bin/camctl.exe?P=20,T=5,Z=2,F=gif">

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a camera control apparatus and method, and more particularly to a camera control apparatus and method for remotely controlling a camera via a network.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A system for remotely controlling a camera (for example, panning, tilting, zooming, etc.) is generally known.
[0003]
In such a system, even if it is performed via a network, a device based on a unique specification (protocol or control information) is adopted between the device that controls the camera and the device on the client side. It is not versatile.
[0004]
However, in recent years, the Internet has been spreading rapidly, and there has been an increasing demand for end users to view videos taken by a remote camera.
[0005]
One possible method to meet this requirement is that a server connected to the camera periodically saves images taken by the camera as a file in its own storage device and forwards it to the accessing terminal (client). To do. On the end user side, for example, the browser is activated and the user can appreciate it.
[0006]
However, this is not limited to viewing fixed images, and for example, it is not possible to meet the demand to view the right side a little more, or to view a wider area or enlarged. This is because conventional camera remote control is based on a unique specification and cannot be brought into the Internet as it is.
[0007]
In order to solve the above problems, the present applicant can provide an end user with an environment in which a video camera can be easily operated remotely via a general-purpose network such as the Internet in Japanese Patent Application No. Hei 8-193729. Proposed camera control device and method
[0008]
According to Japanese Patent Application No. 8-193729, in a system for transmitting information over the Internet, such as the WWW, it is proposed that the camera attitude control and shooting can be reserved from a remote location, and the video can be displayed later. Yes. According to this proposal, the user transmits a shooting time and pan / tilt / zoom control information to the camera control device via the Internet, for example, and reserves shooting. The camera control device issues an acceptance code to the user for this reservation. The user obtains the reserved video from the camera control device by this reception code.
[0009]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, depending on the setting contents of various conditions such as the reserved time and the camera posture control contents, the accepted photographing is not always executed. For example, if a plurality of video recordings in different directions are reserved at the same time, it may be impossible to capture all the reserved video images.
[0010]
Furthermore, in order to display the reserved video, it is necessary to generate an HTML document including a reception code by the CGI program, or to input a reception code corresponding to the reserved video. However, it is difficult to prepare a CGI program, and it is easy for an error to occur when a user inputs a receipt code, which impairs the usability of the control device.
[0011]
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and in a system capable of remotely controlling camera shooting conditions and the like in a predetermined network, it is possible to notify when a reservation for shooting has occurred. An object of the present invention is to provide a simple camera control apparatus and method.
[0012]
Another object of the present invention is that it is not necessary to input a reservation acceptance code or dynamically generate an HTML document by a CGI program when displaying a reserved video, and easily display a reserved video. An object of the present invention is to provide a camera control apparatus and method capable of performing the above.
[0013]

This means that the image data stored in the image001.gif file of the WWW server www.foo.co.jp is requested, and the transferred image is displayed on the browser screen. Will be done. In this embodiment, such a specification is utilized as it is, and it is going to control a camera remotely.
[0022]
That is, in this embodiment, the character string corresponding to the file name is interpreted as a command. In short, panning, tilting, zooming, and the like that specify the camera angle are represented by alphabetic characters “P”, “T”, and “Z”, respectively, and then the respective control amounts are represented by numbers.
[0023]
For example, it is assumed that there is a camera that can select from eight stages of pan angle from -50 degrees to 50 degrees, tilt angle from -20 degrees to 20 degrees, and zoom from 1 to 8. In this case, for example, when shooting with a pan angle of 20 degrees, a tilt of 5 degrees, and a double zoom and wishing to be pasted as gif format image data, it is described as follows. It is assumed that the network address of this camera control device is cam.foo.co.jp.

Further, in the condition determination in step S101, if the head of the request is “R” as in the description example of (3) described later, it is recognized as a reservation command for shooting date and time, and step S701 is determined via the condition determination in step S104. Proceed to
[0029]
Reservation commands begin with the letter "R", followed by a year, month, day, hour, and minute each represented by an integer, separated by a period. Then, pan / tilt / zoom instructions that are photographing conditions follow, and finally a name representing the image format is given. When there is no shooting condition, the camera angle at the shooting date and time is adopted.

If the path name is “G” in the condition determination in step S101, then the process proceeds to step S104, and the determination here is also negative, so the process proceeds to step S108. Here, since it is recognized as an image extraction command, the process proceeds to step S109, and based on a reception code included in the extraction command (in this example, the reception code is added by a “cookie” header, which will be described later). Thus, the data stored in the

[0054]
On the other hand, in step S705, if there is a match with the designated URL in the setting instructed to save, a reception code (ID) corresponding to this is obtained, and an HTML page is requested with the designated URL. At this time, include the “Cookie” header in the request header and send the acceptance code in the following format.

When the expiration date is designated, the video is stored until the expiration date, and when the expiration date has passed, the stored video is deleted. In addition, even if shooting fails for some reason, the reservation status is saved until this expiration date, and a detailed response can be made regarding the error content in response to a video retrieval request.
[0063]
In steps S702 and S703, the content returned to the
[0064]
As described above, according to the above embodiment, the camera control device is connected to the network of the WWW system, and the URL obtained by adding the description of the shooting condition of the camera to the address of the camera control device of the embodiment is described as the source of the image data. By simply doing this, it becomes possible to easily paste a live image obtained by operating a remote camera into a WWW document.
[0065]
In addition, it is possible to make a reservation for camera shooting with respect to the
[0066]
In particular, it is possible to obtain a great effect that it is possible to capture a plurality of images at a short interval with the same camera angle regardless of the transmission capacity of the network.
[0067]
Of course, the interface with the
[0068]
Further, when notifying the above-mentioned reservation code to the transmission source, a password may be issued and notified, and the next time it is taken out, it may be transferred only after attaching the password together with the reservation code. At least in this way, the problem that the file is deleted because the third party happens to give the same reservation number and issues a transfer request can be avoided.
[0069]
In addition, although the reservation time is in minutes, it may be extended to seconds or milliseconds. In this case, it is determined that the reserved times are overlapped when a time interval longer than the maximum time required for camera attitude control and shooting is not obtained.
[0070]
In addition, although gif is taken as an example of the image format, JPEG may be expressed by a file extension called jpg so that one of them can be switched.
[0071]
Although the file name is regarded as a command, a URL parameter description may be used. For example, when pan, tilt, zoom, and image format are 25 degrees, 5 degrees, 2 times, and gif,
<img src = "http://cam.foo.co.jp/cameraimage?P=20,T=5,Z=2,F=gif">
You may make it describe like.
[0072]
Moreover, you may mount a WWW server simultaneously in this control apparatus. In that case, for example, it can be realized by giving the name camctl.exe to the program of the
<img src = "http://cam.foo.co.jp/cgi-bin/camctl.exe?P=20,T=5,Z=2,F=gif">
Furthermore, in the above embodiment, when the transfer of the image once reserved is completed, the image data (file) is deleted. However, depending on the case, it may not be deleted at this time.
[0073]
In other words, an appropriate time after the actual shooting and saving as a file is stored, and when that time has passed, the data is deleted regardless of whether it has been transferred or not. In this way, at least a plurality of end users can have an opportunity to view the same image.
[0074]
In some cases, a password may be assigned and transferred only when the password matches the password.
[0075]
<Second Embodiment>
In the first embodiment, the cookie function is used for the received code storage instruction, but the method of executing the storage instruction is not limited to this. For example, a plug-in that accepts an acceptance code storage instruction may be prepared on the browser side. In this case, by saving the URL including the acceptance code in the bookmark, even if the browser (external device 1002) does not have a function of automatically sending the acceptance code, a video display request can be made by selecting the URL from the bookmark. Can be put out. For this reason, it is possible to obtain an effect as if it has a function of automatically sending an acceptance code.
[0076]
As described above, according to each of the embodiments described above, in a system that captures video by controlling a camera through a network, it is possible to prevent duplication of reservation when reserving camera control and photographing.
[0077]
Furthermore, according to each of the above embodiments, when displaying a reserved video, it is not necessary to input a reception code notified at the time of reservation, and an HTML document is dynamically generated by a CGI program or the like on the server side. There is no need. For this reason, the operability on the user side is improved, the configuration on the server side is simplified, and the reserved video can be displayed easily.
[0078]
The present invention may be applied to a system composed of a plurality of devices or an apparatus composed of a single device.
[0079]
In addition, an object of the present invention is to supply a storage medium storing software program codes for realizing the functions of the above-described embodiments to a system or apparatus, and store the computer (or CPU or MPU) of the system or apparatus. Needless to say, this can also be achieved by reading and executing the program code stored in the medium.
[0080]
In this case, the program code itself read from the storage medium realizes the functions of the above-described embodiments, and the storage medium storing the program code constitutes the present invention.
[0081]
As a storage medium for supplying the program code, for example, a floppy disk, a hard disk, an optical disk, a magneto-optical disk, a CD-ROM, a CD-R, a magnetic tape, a nonvolatile memory card, a ROM, or the like can be used.
[0082]
Further, by executing the program code read by the computer, not only the functions of the above-described embodiments are realized, but also the OS running on the computer based on the instruction of the program code performs the actual processing. Needless to say, a case where the function of the embodiment is realized by performing part or all of the processing, is also included.
[0083]
Further, after the program code read from the storage medium is written to the memory provided in the extension function board inserted in the computer or the function extension unit connected to the computer, the function extension is performed based on the instruction of the program code. It goes without saying that the CPU or the like provided in the board or the function expansion unit performs part or all of the actual processing and the functions of the above-described embodiments are realized by the processing.
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, when there is an overlap in reservations for photographing, it is possible to notify that fact, and the operability of photographing reservations in a remotely operable camera is improved.
[0084]
Further, according to the present invention, it is not necessary to input a reservation acceptance code or to dynamically generate an HTML document by a CGI program when displaying a reserved video, and easily display a reserved video. Is possible.
