Description
試験ユニットの性能が図6と図7に示されている。この場合、電極間のギャップは3mmと5mmである。1リットル/分から10リットル/分の範囲で、異なった流量(V)で空気をアークチャンバに導入する。高電圧変圧器の一次コイルの電流を250μA〜1.25mAの範囲で変動させて、高電圧発生回路に供給される電力を増加させる。アークチャンバからの出力は、NOx化学発光ガス分析装置に導入され、異なった濃度の酸化窒素を得る。
気管を切開した30キロの雄のドーセット羊に、7Fr肺血管スワンーガンツーカテーテルと大腿骨動脈ラインを取り付けて、肺血管と全身の動脈の血圧を連続的に監視した。覚醒中の羊に0.6μg/kg/minのU46619(アップジョーン社製)を常時注入した。これは急性の肺血管収縮と高血圧を起こすことができる安定したトロンボキサン(thromboxane)類似体である。U46619注入は、肺動脈血管の圧力(PAP)を平均基準値の19mmHgから79%増加して、33mmHgにした。図4のものと同じアークと回路を使用して、空気と一酸化窒素の混合気体を作った。空気中の一酸化窒素を10ppm吸収後、直ちにPAPが25%減って25mmHgになり、5ミリのエアーギャップ内での高電圧直流スパークによって電気的に発生された一酸化窒素の血管弛緩作用が確認された。図8は、平均PAPの吸入された一酸化窒素の濃度レベル別の依存性を示している。なお、これは化学発光によって測定された。スパーク電流を増加して吸入された一酸化窒素の濃度を15ppmにすると、PAPは23mmHgのレベルに低下した。吸入される一酸化窒素を40ppmにさらに増加させると、PAPはさらに低下して、18mmHgのU46619を注入しなくても基準線のレベルに達した。その後、空気のみが羊の肺に送り込まれ、注入されたU46619の反作用がないため、PAPは34mmHgに達した。この一酸化窒素の吸入試験の間、全身的動脈の圧力(SAP)は94mmHgで一定していた。SAPが一定していたという事実は、吸入された一酸化窒素が肺血管の局部的弛緩剤として作用することを証明するものである。
Claims (7)
- 空気と一酸化窒素の混合気体を直接供給するために空気と一酸化窒素の混合気体を空気と電源を使って発生する方法であって、
空気取入口から空気を吸入器のアークチャンバへ導入する工程と、
エアーギャップによって隔てられ前記アークチャンバに設けられている一組の電極に、前記エアーギャップ内でアークを誘起させるのに十分なピーク値を有する高電圧電位を供給する工程と、
前記高電圧電位に帯電された電極間でアーク放電を起こして一酸化窒素を発生させる工程と、
前記発生された混合気体を吐出口を介して吐出する工程と、を有することを特徴とする一酸化窒素と空気の混合気体の発生方法。 - 取入口から導入された前記空気を瀘過して、前記アークチャンバへの液滴あるいは個体粒子の侵入を防止する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アークチャンバからの気体を瀘過して、前記アーク放電中に酸化窒素及びオゾンを除去する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アークチャンバからの一酸化窒素と空気の混合気体に、一組の選択可能な開口を有する空気取入アッセンブリを介して導入された空気を混合する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アークチャンバからの気体を浄化して、アーク放電中に二酸化窒素及びオゾンを除去する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記混合気体を前記吐出口を介してガスポンプに強制的に送出する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記混合気体に追加の気体をさらに添加する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
