本発明は、乗用車等のドア周辺を密封するためのウェザストリップの一部を構成する型成形部に関するものであり、特に、コンバーチブル・タイプの乗用車におけるフロントピラ−上方隅部に装着されるウェザストリップの型成形部に関するものである。

従来のコンバーチブル・タイプの乗用車における幌部材から成る可動ル−フ、フロントドア及びフロントピラ−上部周辺に装着されるウェザストリップは、通常、図3〜図8に示したような配設状態にあった。

図3は、従来のコンバーチブルタイプの乗用車1の概略の外観を示す斜視図であり、フロントピラー部2を中心にフロント・ウィンドガラス3とフロントドア4のサイド・ウィンドガラス5が夫々ガスケット6及びウェザストリップ7を介して前記フロントピラー部2の周辺に対する密封が図られていた。
一方、可動ルーフを構成する幌部材8は、後部からその両側端縁をルーフサイドレール24に沿ってその前方端縁を前記フロントピラー部2の上部前方端縁近傍まで引き出され、固定されていた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】

本発明のかかる目的は、上下に二分された各中空部 、該下方中空部の車外側外面に突設されてサイド・ウィンドガラスの内面に摺接可能なシールリップ部及び該下方中空部の車内側外面に突設されてボディパネルに圧接可能なシールリップ部を一体的に型成形したフロントピラー上方隅部用のウェザストリップ型成形部であって、前記サイド・ウィンドガラスの内面に摺接可能な前記シールリップ部が、隣接する幌部材との間に形成された間隙に対応して、その内面と前記上方中空部の外面によって画成される排水溝 の幅をW1 からW2 に漸増するように且つその長さを前記サイド・ウィンドガラスに対する密封性と外観を損なわない範囲で前記漸増幅にゆるやかな変化を与えるように設定して型成形して成ることを特徴とするウェザストリップの型成形部によって達成される。
