In the conventional car body structure, a drip part with a drip groove is formed at the side end of the roof panel, and at this drip part, rainwater on the roof panel flows down to the door side in rainy weather, making it difficult to get on and off the vehicle. This prevents the liquid from hitting the occupants or falling onto the door glass while driving, obstructing side visibility. This conventional structure can be seen in, for example, Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 48-46319.

However, if this drip part protrudes outward from the outer surface of the adjacent roof panel or door sash, air will be drawn in while driving, causing wind noise. ,
This is unfavorable in terms of aerodynamic characteristics and appearance.

Therefore, in recent years, there has been a demand to eliminate the steps between various parts of the car body and make the outer surface of the car body flush and smooth to improve aerodynamic characteristics and appearance. are formed on almost the same surface, eliminating the step difference from the roof panel to the door and creating a smooth surface.

However, although this may satisfy the demands of improving aerodynamic characteristics and appearance, the drip part becomes smaller and the drip groove also becomes narrower, and as a result, the drip part's original function is to drain rainwater The problem is that rainwater on the roof panel cannot be drained sufficiently, and rainwater on the roof panel flows down to the door side.In addition, it becomes difficult to install the roof carrier, which was fixed using this drip part. The point was hot.

This invention was made by focusing on the above-mentioned conventional problems, and satisfies the demands of improving aerodynamic characteristics and appearance, while ensuring reliable drainage of rainwater on the roof panel, and making it easy to install the roof carrier. The aim is to ensure that this is possible.

More specifically, this invention connects the drip part at the end of the roof panel and the outer surface of the door sash.
The drip grooves are formed substantially on the same surface to satisfy the requirements for aerodynamic characteristics and appearance, and an auxiliary drip groove extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body is formed on the roof panel near the drip portion, so that the drip portion and the auxiliary drip groove are formed on the same surface. This ensures the drainage of rainwater on the roof panel, and furthermore, the roof panel from the auxiliary drip groove to the drip groove of the drip part is connected to the car body once with respect to a perpendicular line imaginably provided near the inside of the drip groove. After contacting from the inside, it bends toward the inside of the vehicle body, bends again toward the outside of the vehicle body, and forms a bent portion connected to the drip groove, and engages with the auxiliary drip groove and the bent portion to support the roof carrier. To provide a vehicle body structure in which a roof carrier can be easily and reliably attached.

This invention will be explained below based on the drawings. 1 to 3 are diagrams showing an embodiment of this invention. In FIG. 1, 1 is a door, 2 is a door glass, 3 is a door sash, 4 is a roof panel, 5 is a drip part, and 6 is a roof carrier.
As shown in FIG. 2, a roof side rail 10 in which an outer panel 8 and an inner panel 9 are joined is disposed below the side portion 7 of the roof panel 4. Side end portion 11 of the roof panel 4
is attached via the drip channel 12. The drip part 5 is connected to the drip channel 1.
2, a drip molding 14 is attached to cover the outside 13 side of the vehicle interior of the drip channel 12 and the side end 11 of the roof panel 4, and the drip channel 12, the side end 11 of the roof panel 4, and the drip molding are used to surround the drip channel 12, the side end 11 of the roof panel 4, and the drip molding. The drip groove 15 is formed so as to have a drip groove 15. In addition, the above drip mall 1
4 and the outer surface 1 of the door sash 3.
7 are smoothly formed on substantially the same plane to satisfy not only wind noise countermeasures but also requirements for aerodynamic characteristics and appearance. Note that a small opening 18 is left between the upper end 14a of the drip molding 14 and the roof panel 4 for rainwater to flow in. Then, an auxiliary drip groove 19 is formed on the roof panel 4 in the vicinity of the drip part 5 position, and extends parallel to the drip part 5 in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body (directions A and B in FIG. 1). Through this, rainwater on the roof panel 4 which cannot be discharged by the drip groove 15 of the drip part 5 alone can be reliably discharged. The front end of the auxiliary drip groove 19 has a closed waterway, and the rear end communicates with a water drain (not shown) so that rainwater can be discharged to the outside of the vehicle. Further, since the auxiliary drip groove 19 is present over the entire length of the roof panel 4 in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body, it also contributes to improving the tension and rigidity of the roof panel 4. Further, an imaginary perpendicular l is drawn from the upper edge 51 near the inner side of the drip groove 15 of the drip portion 5.
is lowered to form a bent portion 21 projecting toward the vehicle interior 20 from this perpendicular line l, and the roof carrier 6 can be freely attached to the roof panel 4 via this bent portion 21 and the auxiliary drip groove 19. There is. Specifically, the bent portion 21 is formed by the opening 18 of the drip portion 5.
Inverse molding is performed between the corresponding position and the position near the side end 11, that is, once it touches the perpendicular l from the inside of the vehicle body (inside the passenger compartment 20), it is bent toward the inside of the vehicle body, and then bent again toward the outside of the vehicle body. It is formed in a substantially Z-shape so as to be continuous with the drip groove 15 (see FIG. 2). The approximately Z-shape of the bent portion 21 refers to the case where the left side of the roof panel 4 is taken as a cross section and viewed from the front of the vehicle, and when the right side of the roof panel 4 is similarly taken as a cross section and viewed from the front of the vehicle. It is approximately S-shaped. Also, roof carrier 6
is the engaging portion 2 for the approximately Z-shaped bent portion 21.
2 at the tip, and a connecting piece 24 bent and protruding from the supporting body 23 to an auxiliary drip groove 19 which is connected via a long hole 25 and a bolt/nut 26 so that the position can be adjusted. When installing, first attach the bent portion 2.
1 after engaging the engaging portion 22 with the engaging piece 27
It is easy to adjust the position so that it engages with the auxiliary drip groove 19, and then fix the engaging piece 27 to the connecting piece 24 with the bolt/nut 26, and the substantially Z-shaped bent part 21 can easily resist upward external force. It is designed to be securely fixed without coming off. In addition, 3
Reference numerals 1 and 32 denote cushioning materials provided on the engaging portion 22 and the engaging piece 27, respectively. Furthermore, since the drip molding 14 side is not used when installing the roof carrier 6, a weather strip 30 is provided on the door sash 3, which has two lip portions 28 and 29 that can come into contact with the outer panel 8 and the drip molding 14, respectively. The sealing performance between the door 1 and the roof panel 4 is improved.

As explained above, according to this invention,
While satisfying the demand for improving the aerodynamic characteristics and appearance of the vehicle by making the exterior surface of the vehicle one surface, it is also possible to reliably drain rainwater from the roof panel.
The roof carrier can be attached easily and reliably, and since it is supported by the bent portion, the roof carrier will not come off even when subjected to an external force acting upward.
