本発明に係るスクータ型車両の物品収納装置は、上述した課題を解決するために、請求項1に記載したように、車体フレームの廻りを車体カバーで覆ったスクータ型車両において、上記車体カバーに物品収納室を形成し、この物品収納室の開口部を開閉自在のリッドで覆って物品収納装置を構成すると共に、上記リッドを外側部材と内側部材とに分割して形成し、上記外側部材には、その外周縁に全周に亘って一体にシール面が形成される一方、上記内側部材には、外側部材より一回り小さい形状で、縦横いずれの断面も外側部材側に向かったコの字状断面を有する内蓋体と、内蓋体から外側に延びる一対のヒンジと、内蓋体の内側の補強用リブとが一体的に形成され、これら外側部材と内側部材とを一体的に結合してリッドを形成したものである。
