図3は、非固定式ルーフである幌1が取付けられたオープンカーを示す外観図である。幌1は折り畳自在の開閉式のものであり、開放時には折り畳まれたルーフ1は車体後方側下部(図示しない)に収納され、閉鎖時には図3に示すようにフロントガラス2上端を固定するヘッダ3及びフロントピラー4上端部に幌1前端が接するようになっている。
より詳細には、フロントピラー4上端部からヘッダ3に沿って取付けられたボディ側ウェザーストリップ5のコーナー部に、ルーフ1の前端及び側端に沿って取付けられたルーフ側ウェザーストリップ7のコーナー部を幌1閉鎖時に外側から被せて弾接させることで水洩れ防止を図っている。

また、ボディ側ウェザーストリップ5もドアガラス9が弾接する中空シール部5Bを有している。なお、符号8はルーフ側ウェザーストリップ7の取付け穴である。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、図4乃至図7に示す従来例に係るルーフ側ウェザーストリップ7によれば、中空シール部7Bに車内リップ部7Cが形成され車内側に進入しようとする水を受けるようにされているものの、排水経路が不十分であるため車内リップ部7Cで受けられた水が、ルーフ側ウェザーストリップ7のルーフ前端に沿う部分から車内側に侵入する場合があった。特に車両の組み付にばらつきがある場合には多量の水が侵入してしまう。そのため、ソフトスポンジ11を車内側の壁面に貼付けて水の進入を防ぐことが行われていた。

本発明の実施の形態に係る非固定式ルーフのシール構造は、可動または取外し自在な非固定式ルーフの一例である折り畳自在の自動開閉式の幌1を有するオープンカーのフロントピラー4上端部からフロントガラス2上端を固定するヘッダ3に沿って取付けられたボディ側ウェザーストリップ5のコーナー部に、幌1の前端及び側端に沿って取付けられたルーフ側ウェザーストリップ7の略L字状のコーナー型成形部をルーフ閉鎖時に外側から被せて弾接させる構造である。しかもルーフ側ウェザーストリップ7は、そのルーフ側端に沿う部分に昇降するドアガラス9が弾接する中空シール部7Bと中空シール部7Bから車内側に延設された車内リップ部7Cとを有し、ボディ側ウェザーストリップ5は、フロントピラー4上端部に沿う部分にドアガラス9が弾接する中空シール部5Bを有するように構成された点で従来例と同様であるが、特に次の点が異なる。
