一方こうした大量の薬剤散布について、人体への影響や環境汚染を懸念する声も高く、減農薬や、天敵を有効利用しようとする方法が各方面で研究されている。古くから、害虫に寄生したり、害虫を捕食したりする天敵は数多く知られているが、実際実用化するために必要な安定供給体制ができているものは少なく、あっても方法は公表されていない。

本発明は果菜類の重要害虫であるアザミウマ類、ハダニ類の防除に有効なA.c.の大量増殖の方法を提供するものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明者らは、A.c.を効率的に短期間で大量増殖するにあたって、種々の餌の混合比率を設定してA.c.が初期値(初期のA.c.の頭数)の例えば10〜300倍に増える系を検索した結果、A.c.数,餌昆虫数,温度及び湿度を特定の範囲に設定し、培地量を少なくすることによって、飛躍的に効率良く高い増殖効果を得る事を見出だし、本発明を完成するに至った。すなわち本発明はA.c.の増殖方法において、該A.c.数1頭に対して餌としてのコナダニを10〜500頭与え、かつ温度を15〜35℃及び湿度を80〜99%RHに設定することを特徴とするA.c.の増殖方法を提供する。

以下本発明を詳細に説明する。

本発明で天敵として用いるA.c.は公知の種属であって、例えばカナダのApplied Bionomic社やオランダのKOPPERT社などで、市販されており、容易に入手できるものである。

次に、本発明の増殖法に用いる、A.c.の餌となるべきコナダニとしては例えば、ケナガコナダニ、アシブトコナダニ、チビコナダニ、コウノホシカダニ、ムギコナダニがあげられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。

次に本発明の増殖法においては、A.c.1頭に対して、餌として与えるコナダニは10〜500頭であるが、好ましくは20〜100頭である。

本発明の増殖方法は、種々の容器内で行うことができるが、その容器の形状は特に限定されずに用いることができる。例えば、500mlの円柱状のプラスチックボトル(広口)を用いた場合、好ましくは20〜40gの培地中A.c.10〜100頭に対し、餌としてのコナダニを例えば2000〜5000頭与え、前期の温度、湿度条件で増殖することにより、数週間後には15000〜25000頭のA.c.を得ることができる。培地としては、バ−ミキュライト、もみ殻、ふすま、乾燥酵母などがあげられる。
