おり、そのカバー部材の防振と締付け具の密封などを図
るために締付け具とカバー部材との間に弾性体と補強材

の多くは、図3に示すように、リング形状をなす弾性体

た。 【0004】 【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、図3に
示すようなカバー部材(2)の取付構造にあっては、前
記ワッシャーシールの締付け圧力によってガスケット
(1)に必要なる面圧をカバー部材(2)のフランジ
(21)へ与えるものであるから該フランジ(21)の
接触面の平面度が重要となり、締付けたことで少しでも
該フランジ(21)に歪が生じるとガスケット(1)の
面圧を局部的に弱め密封力を甚だ不安定なものとする。
このため、前記フランジ(21)に対して狭間隔にボル
ト(3)及びワッシャーシールを配置して歪の防止をな
すか、あるいは該フランジ(21)そのものの強度を高
める補強材(例えばスティフナー。図示していない)を
増設するなどの強度対策を必要としていた。 【0005】また、合成ゴム等でなる前記ワッシャーシ
ールの弾性体(4)及びガスケット(1)は、多少の硬
度の差異はあっても性能を保つ最適な締付け圧力はある

明はこのような重大な欠点に鑑み、ガスケット(1)に
対して広い範囲で均一な面圧を与えワッシャーシールの
応力緩和を防いで長期の使用に耐える防振性の良好なシ
ールワッシャーの取付構造を提供することを目的として
いる。 【0006】 【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、図1及び図2
に示すように、カバー部材(2)を装着固定するワッシ
ャーシールの取付構造であって、弾性体でシール部本体
(7)を形成し、該シール部本体(7)の補強をなして
その両側に伸びる板バネ(8)を配設すると共に該板
バネ(8)の両端に吸振パッド(9)を設け、カバー部
材(2)のフランジ部(21)に取付けることを特徴と
している。 【0007】 【作用】本発明は、上記したように、エンジンのシリン
ダヘッド(6)へガスケット(1)を装着したカバー部
材(2)を取付けるワッシャーシールであり、図1に示
すように、前記ワッシャーシールはシール部本体(7)
と該シール部本体(7)の補強板を兼ねその両側に伸出
する板バネ(8)と該板バネ(8)の両端に配設した吸
振パッド(9)とで構成されており、前記カバー部材
(2)のフランジ部(21)のボルト(3)へシール部
本体(7)を取付けて前記ワッシャーシールの板バネ
(8)を介しシール部本体(7)と該板バネ(8)に連
なる両側の吸振パッド(9)をフランジ部(21)の外
表部へ圧接触せしめる。この複数個の圧縮付与部は前記
のように一箇所のボルト(3)の締付け圧力によって得
られており、該一箇所の締付け圧力を板バネ(8)によ
って両端の吸振パッド(9)まで均等に分散せしめ、こ
の締付け部分の近辺一帯のフランジ(21)とその内側
部に位置する広範囲のガスケット(1)とが良好な締付
け状態におかれる。 【0008】 【実施例】本発明を実施するに、図2に示すようなシー
ル本体部(7)の補強をなす部分から伸出する板バネ
(8)のばね強度と伸出寸法は、カバー部材(2)の周
囲に配置するボルト(3)の本数かあるいは該カバー部
材(2)のフランジ強度さらにはシール本体部(7)及
び吸振パッド(9)の硬度などによって決定されるもの
であるが、ボルト配備数においては、その付近に及ぼす
良好な締付け状況から少なくとも通常配備していた本数
の1/2から1/3程度にまで数量を減じることが可能
となる。また、複数の吸振パッド(9)のフランジ(2
1)への接触によって分散されたシール本体部(7)へ
加わる締付け圧力は、組立ラインの空圧レンチなどで締
付けトルク70kgf・cm〜90kgf・cm程度の強締付けが
なされても、そのトルクは50kgf・cm〜60kgf・cm程
度にまで分散配給され、従来のようなトルクダウン(応
力緩和)や過大な横流れ変形を発生させない。 【0009】 【発明の効果】上記のような構成によって、以下に示す
優れた効果が得られる。本発明のワッシャーシールは前
記のように、一箇所の締付け圧力によってフランジ(2
1)の締付け近辺一帯とその内側部に位置する広い範囲
のガスケット(1)が良好な締付け状態におかれ、ワッ
シャーシールの応力緩和を防いでガスケット(1)に長
期間不変な締圧を提供する。また、締付け部の付近一帯
に及ぼす良好な締付け状況からボルト配備数を減じるこ
とが可能となる。このボルト配備の減少はカバー部材
(2)の装着作業性を大きく向上させるばかりでなくエ
