が起こり、特に澱粉の配合量が増す程、また線香の太さ
が通常のサイズ(20mm2 )に近づくように大きくな
る程、立消えが起こり易くなることがわかる。なお、表
2から明らかなように、従来の線香(例No.12の断
面積X:20mm2 )の燃焼速度50分/10cmに
は、本発明の例No.6の断面積15mm2 、例No.
7の断面積10mm2 、例No.8の断面積5mm2
燃焼速度が匹敵するが、このことは、従来の線香と同じ
燃焼速度を達成するのに線香の径を細くできること、及
び/又は線香の長さを短くできること、すなわち原料使
用量を少なくできることを意味している。また、脱脂米
糠を配合した本発明の線香では、市販の蚊取線香に比べ
て同等かそれ以上の有効成分の揮散率を示した。また、
脱脂米糠の配合量を増してもそれ程有効成分の揮散率は
低下しないが、澱粉を配合した線香では有効成分の揮散
率が低下し、特に澱粉の配合量を増す程顕著に低下する
ことがわかる。さらに、表2に示すもの以外にも、断面
積20mm2 以上の種々の断面積を有する線香を成形
し、それらについても燃焼速度を測定した。その結果、
脱脂米糠15重量%配合の線香について、断面積30m
2 の場合72分/10cm(無配合:56分/10c
m)、断面積40mm2 の場合78分/10cm(無配
合:65分/10cm)、断面積50mm2 の場合83
分/10cm(無配合:71分/10cm)と燃焼速度
が遅延した。ただ、断面積20mm2 以下に比べて、断
面積を大きくするに従ってその遅延比率は小さくなる傾
向を示した。なお、断面積が50mm2 を超えると燃焼
時に立消えを生じるようになり好ましくない。

ころ、市販線香A64%、市販線香B68%に対して6
8%と燃焼速度を遅延したにもかかわらず同等かそれ以
上であった。

使用原料が減少し、コストダウンを図れると共に、資源

という効果が得られ、その結果、有効成分量を少なくで
きるという利点も得られる。また、本発明で用いる脱脂
米糠は我国において大量に安価に得られ、輸入品である
が故に高価でかつ将来的に供給量が心配される除虫菊抽
出粕粉末等の配合量を減らすことができるので、コスト
をかなり低減でき、またその供給の不安定性の心配もな
いなど、実用上の利点は極めて大きい。
