Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は溶接工用のヘルメットに関する。このヘルメ
ットは、いわゆる高感度フィルタ、すなわち、溶接光に
曝されるまでは比較的透明度を保持し、偏光フィルタに
組み込まれた１つ以上の液晶層の偏光作用の切り換えに
よって通常は暗視野化する光フィルタを備えた形式のも
のである。
常暗フィルタを備えたヘルメットは、実際の溶接作業
時にのみ使用され、溶接を実施していないときには、フ
ィルタ及びヘルメットの可能な部分は邪魔にならないよ
うに移動される。しかしながら、いわゆる高感度フィル
タを備えた溶接工用ヘルメットは、一般に作業中は常に
着用され、しばしば快適に、『エアコンディショニン
グ』をもたらしたり、イヤホン又はイヤプロテクタをも
着用可能である。こうした利便性は、ある種の生産環境
においては評価される。
この種のヘルメットの１つの問題点は、着用者が、高
感度フィルタを通して前方を真っ直ぐにしか見ることが
できないため、空間に対する理解力を失うことにある。
多くの作業者がこの不快感を感じており、認知力の低下
は事故や障害の要因となる。
本発明の目的は、上記に関する改良を提供することに
ある。この目的は、本発明の請求の範囲第１項に記載し
た特徴を有する溶接工用ヘルメットにより達成される。
すなわち、本発明によれば、独立したフィルタ窓が高
感度フィルタの両側部に配置される。これらのフィルタ
窓は、眩視からの脱却及び平衡感覚をもたらすために、
所与のフィルタ要素を有することが好ましい。溶接工程
で生じる溶接光は、周囲の著しい照明となり、特に数人
の溶接工が作業するワークショップにおいて、他の溶接
作業によって生じる溶接光はそうである。したがって、
上記のフィルタ窓は、可視領域での所定のフィルタ効果
を備えることが好ましく、また、紫外線領域及び赤外線
領域での低い透過をもたらすことが好ましい。
従来のフィルタガラスを備え、大型の一体式前部窓を
有した溶接工用ヘルメットは知られている。この前部窓
は、その中心部に高濃度を有して、両眼に直接に到達す
る溶接光から着用者を保護し、一方その両側部は低濃度
となっている。この種のヘルメット構造における１つの
問題点は、直接の溶接光がヘルメット内へ侵入して着用
者の顔面を照らし、ヘルメット内で顔面が光に覆われる
ようになることにある。ヘルメット内の照光された着用
者の顔面は、高濃度のフィルタ部分の後面に反射して、
コントラストを低減させる。さらに、両眼が曝される全
般的な明るさは、両眼を極めて高密度の光に順応させ
る。溶接作業の終了後、減少した明るさに両眼を順応さ
せるには時間がかかる。本発明の目的は、これらの不都
合を被ることなく、視野を改善することにある。
以下、添付図面を参照して、本発明をその実施例に基
づきさらに詳細に説明する。添付の図面は、溶接工用ヘ
ルメットを示す。
図示の溶接工用ヘルメット１は、湾曲したプラスチッ
ク製フェイスマスクを備える。さらにこのヘルメット１
は、ヘルメットを支持するように着用者の頭部の周囲に
締め付けられるヘッドストラップ２を備える。フェイス
マスクは、ヘッドストラップに２箇所で蝶着される。そ
のうち１箇所を符号５で図示し、フェイスマスクの他の
側にあるもう１つの箇所は図に現れない。したがってフ
ェイスマスクは、これらの蝶着部に関して回転可能であ
り、フェイスマスクを持ち上げて顔面を解放することが
できる。
上記のヘルメット１はさらに、着用者の両眼の位置に
対向して装着された枠付きの溶接用ガラス３を備える。
溶接用ガラス３は、高感度フィルタ形式のものであり、
例えば登録商標「スピードグラス」の名で市販されてい
る種類のフィルタガラスである。これは、可視光線のみ
を透過可能な干渉フィルタと、偏光フィルタ及び液晶層
の結合体とを連続して備える。偏光フィルタ及び液晶層
の結合体は、スウェーデン特許公報Ａ−7804630−７号
に記載のように、溶接光の発生時に迅速にガラスを暗視
野化するよう光センサ（図示せず）によって制御され
る。
上記のフェイスマスクは、溶接用ガラス３の両側部
に、側面フィルタ４を嵌め込むための開口部をそれぞれ
備える。これらの側面フィルタ４は、赤外線及び紫外線
を遮断するよう作用し、例えば４〜５濃度の視野フィル
タ効果を有する。
濃度は一般に次の式で決定される。
Ｄ＝１＋（7/3）log10（1/T） ここでＴは相対透過率である。
上記のガラス製フィルタは従来構造を有し、したがっ
てフェイスマスク１の湾曲形状に一致するように湾曲成
形することができる。これらのフィルタは、溶接物から
の光が前面から直接に入らず、溶接光源から周囲へ広が
りかつヘルメットの内部を過度に照光しないよう弱めら
れた放射線からのみ侵入するように、方向及び位置を決
められる。
本発明によるヘルメットは、例えば、エアフィルタ付
き又は無しの換気装置、イヤホン等、様々な種類の周知
の装置と組み合わせることができる。このヘルメットは
側面窓を設けたために、中心部の窓ガラスしか持たない
ヘルメットに比べて、着用者にとって極めて快適であ
る。したがって本発明によるヘルメットは、この種のヘ
ルメットを着用する際に他の点で不快感を感じる作業者
や、暗閉所恐怖症の心理的問題に耐えなければならない
作業者によっても、不快感を生じることなく長時間に亙
り着用できる。また、本発明による溶接工用ヘルメット
は、機械的原因による傷害から頭部を保護するために頭
部を覆う種類の防護ヘルメットにも組み合わせることが
できる。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】入射する溶接光に感応して光学濃度を増加
    させるいわゆる高感度フィルタを備えた溶接工用ヘルメ
    ットにおいて、 前記高感度フィルタ（３）の両側方に、該高感度フィル
    タから独立したフィルタ付きの側面窓（４）を備え、そ
    れら側面窓のフィルタは、赤外線及び紫外線を本質的に
    遮断するとともに可視光線に対する所定かつ一定のフィ
    ルタ作用を有することを特徴とする溶接工用ヘルメッ
    ト。
  2. 【請求項２】前記側面窓（４）の各々における前記フィ
    ルタのフィルタ効果は、４〜５の濃度を有する請求項１
    記載の溶接工用ヘルメット。
