Abstract
Description
特定の方向へ偏光された光のみを透過させる偏光子と、
偏光子のいずれか一面に位置し、ディスプレイ装置に接着可能に構成され、ディスプレイ装置のデュアルセル構造によって発生するモアレを解消するように、ヘイズが49~65%であるヘイズ接着フィルムと、を備える。
上部表示セルの上部に位置する上部偏光板と、上部表示セルと下部表示セルとの間に位置する中間偏光板と、下部表示セルの下部に位置する下部偏光板と、を含む少なくとも三つの層の偏光板と、を備えるディスプレイ装置であって、
上部偏光板、中間偏光板及び下部偏光板のいずれか一つの偏光板が前述した第1実施形態から第6実施形態のいずれか一実施形態による偏光板であることを特徴とする。
上部偏光板のヘイズ接着フィルムが偏光子の下部に位置するように、上部偏光板が上部表示セルの上部に積層され得る。
下部偏光板のヘイズ接着フィルムが偏光子の上部に位置するように、下部偏光板が下部表示セルの下部に積層され得る。
中間偏光板のヘイズ接着フィルムが偏光子の上部または下部に位置するように、中間偏光板が上部表示セルと下部表示セルとの間に積層され得る。
図2を参照すると、本実施形態によるディスプレイ装置100aは、所謂デュアルセル構造のLCD装置である。即ち、ディスプレイ装置100aの使用者に向かう方向を上部とするとき、少なくとも二つの層の表示セルは、上下に配置される上部表示セル21(上部LCDセル)及び下部表示セル22(下部LCDセル)を含み得る。ここで、上部表示セル21及び下部表示セル22のうちいずれか一つがカラーLCDセルであり、他の一つが黒白LCDセル(モノーセル)であるか、または二つともカラーLCDセルであり得る。
ポリビニルアルコールフィルム(厚さ60μm、クラレ社、VF-PS #6000)を25℃の水溶液で膨潤、30℃の染着槽で染着し、染着されたポリビニルアルコールフィルムを55℃のホウ酸水溶液でさらに延伸して最終延伸率を約5.9倍になるようにして偏光子(厚さ22μm)を製造した。
下記の表1の組成比による重量平均分子量180万のアクリル系高分子、硬化剤及び粒径4~5μmのシリカビーズ(モメンティブ社のT-145)を溶剤(エチルアセテート)と混合し、記載された固形分の含量を有するアクリル系接着剤組成物を製造した。
離型フィルムに実施例及び比較例のアクリル系接着剤組成物を塗布した後、80℃で3分間乾燥し、厚さ20μmの水準に接着フィルムを製造した。
ヘイズメーターを用いて測定した。
製造されたヘイズ接着フィルム付き偏光板を3日間常温で保管した後、下記のような方法でヘイズ接着フィルムの物性を評価した。

○:気泡5個未満
Δ:気泡5~9個
X:気泡10個以上、または浮き発生
前述した方法で製造したヘイズ接着フィルム13付き偏光板10aを上部LCDセル21の上面に付着し、下部LCDセル22として上部LCDセルと同じLCDセルを積層し、モアレ現象(虹ムラの発生有無)をブラックモードで目視で確認した。

Claims (13)
- デュアルセル構造を有するディスプレイ装置に使用される偏光板であって、
前記偏光板は、
特定の方向へ偏光された光のみを透過させる偏光子と、
前記偏光子のいずれか一面に位置し、前記ディスプレイ装置に接着可能に構成され、前記ディスプレイ装置のデュアルセル構造によって発生するモアレを解消するように、ヘイズが49~65%であるヘイズ接着フィルムと、を備えることを特徴とする、ディスプレイ装置用の偏光板。 - 前記ヘイズ接着フィルムのヘイズが、50~60%であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ装置用の偏光板。
- 前記ヘイズ接着フィルムの厚さが、20~22μmであることを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載のディスプレイ装置用の偏光板。
- 前記偏光板が、前記偏光子の一面と前記ヘイズ接着フィルムとの間及び前記偏光子の他面に積層された保護フィルムをさらに備えることを特徴とする、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ装置用の偏光板。
- 前記ヘイズ接着フィルムは、ヘイズを有するビーズがアクリル系高分子に均一に分散して形成されたことを特徴とする、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ装置用の偏光板。
- 前記ヘイズを有するビーズが、シリカビーズであることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載のディスプレイ装置用の偏光板。
- 上下に配置され、各々マトリクス形態からなって画像を表示する上部表示セル及び下部表示セルを含む少なくとも二つの層の表示セルと、
前記上部表示セルの上部に位置する上部偏光板と、前記上部表示セルと前記下部表示セルとの間に位置する中間偏光板と、前記下部表示セルの下部に位置する下部偏光板と、を含む少なくとも三つの層の偏光板と、を備えるディスプレイ装置であって、
前記上部偏光板、前記中間偏光板及び前記下部偏光板のいずれか一つの偏光板が、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の偏光板であることを特徴とする、ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記ディスプレイ装置が視野角を制限する要素を含まないことを特徴とする、請求項7に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記ディスプレイ装置が自動車に搭載される自動車用ディスプレイ装置であることを特徴とする、請求項7または8に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記いずれか一つの偏光板が前記上部偏光板であり、
前記上部偏光板の前記ヘイズ接着フィルムが前記偏光子の下部に位置するように、前記上部偏光板が前記上部表示セルの上部に積層されたことを特徴とする、請求項7から9のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記いずれか一つの偏光板が前記下部偏光板であり、
前記下部偏光板の前記ヘイズ接着フィルムが前記偏光子の上部に位置するように、前記下部偏光板が前記下部表示セルの下部に積層されたことを特徴とする、請求項7から10のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記いずれか一つの偏光板が前記中間偏光板であり、
前記中間偏光板の前記ヘイズ接着フィルムが前記偏光子の上部または下部に位置するように、前記中間偏光板が前記上部表示セルと前記下部表示セルとの間に積層されたことを特徴とする、請求項7から11のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記上部表示セル及び下部表示セルのいずれか一つがカラーLCDセルであり、他の一つが黒白LCDセルまたはカラーLCDセルであることを特徴とする、請求項7から12のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ装置。
