上記式中、Mは金属である。
金属酸化物の粉末に塩水溶液を含浸させて、ドープした金属酸化物を調製した。助触媒の量は、助触媒金属の所望の重量%に等しくなるように調整した。この金属酸化物粉末を、対応する金属カチオン添加剤50mlと直接混合し、40℃で4~5時間激しく撹拌した。含浸させた試料を110℃で一晩乾燥させ、続いて600℃で焼成した。担体材料は、金属及び金属酸化物等の活性部位のための安定剤として働く。本研究では、酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)及び酸化シリカ(SiO2)といういくつかの種類の担体材料を使用した。担体材料は、担体を水素生成に添加することの影響を調べるために、触媒に加えた。しかしながら、金属酸化物だけの触媒は、焼成後すぐに使用することができる。触媒調製の概要を図3に提示する。
低温で還元及び再酸化の両方を行って水素を製造できる金属酸化物の可能性を検討するために、金属酸化物の主要な特性の検討を実施した。より低い温度で還元又は再酸化されやすい金属酸化物はいくつかあるが、低温の狭い範囲で還元されかつ再酸化されることが可能な金属酸化物は非常に少ない。

最も重要な反応である還元反応を含む2段階の方法を用いて水素を生成した。選択した酸化物金属触媒の還元反応は、化学吸着分析装置の型式Micromeritics Autochem IIをミニ反応器として使用し、温度プログラム還元(TPR)技術を用いて実施した。一酸化炭素の消費量は、熱伝導度型検出器(TCD)を用いてモニターした。この装置は、最高1100℃の試料分析用加熱炉、水蒸気を除去するためのコールドトラップ、水蒸気を生成すせるための水蒸気発生装置、即時冷却を目的とした「クウィッククール(kwick cool)」コンポーネントから構成されている。図4は、TPR分析プロセスで発生するガスの流れを示す模式図を示す。
還元反応が完了した後、反応は、TPRと同様のツールを使用して、水素生成のためのパルス化学吸着水蒸気(PCWV)を用いた酸化反応(水分解)に進む。この分析の温度プログラミングは、N2ガス流下で水蒸気を使用してパルスの速度を調整する。この手法により、気化した水蒸気は触媒によって吸収されることになる。水蒸気を使用した場合のプロファイルは、図6に示すように記録される。このプロファイルから得られる情報は、水蒸気の各パルス(投入)で生成される水素の量である。図7は、水蒸気投入の過程で発生するガスと水蒸気の流れを説明するための模式図である。
X線回折(XRD)モデルであるBruker AXSD8 AdvanceとCuKa(40kV、40mA)X線源とにより、金属酸化物の相特性を測定した。構造の格子定数を観察するために、l1/4 0.154nmで10°~80°から2q回折を収集した。結晶相の組成を同定するために、回折パターンを標準的な回折(JCPDS)ファイルと照合した。加えて、3.0kVで動作するMerlin Ultra High Resolution FESEMを用いてFESEM画像を取得した。酸化反応(水分解)から生成したガスの組成は、TCD検出器を用いたAgilent Technologies(アジレント・テクノロジー)製GCシステムの6890Nモデルを用いて検出した。ガスの分離は、Propack Q(6.0m×1/8インチ(約0.32cm))及びモレキュラーシーブ5Å(2.0m×1/8インチ(約0.32cm))の両カラムを互いに接続して用いて行った。使用したキャリアガスは4ml/分の流量のアルゴン(Ar)である。
水分解反応の結果の分析は、水のパルス化学吸着水蒸気プロファイルのプロファイルに基づく。触媒の活性は、水蒸気の水素への転化率(%)、及び反応中若しくは反応後に生成される収量又は生成物の可能性によって測定される。水蒸気の投入(10.4μmol)あたりの水蒸気の水素への転化率は、式3に基づく。

酸化鉄触媒
鉄系元素の数多くの用途が開発されており、その用途としては、触媒反応、吸着剤、顔料、凝集剤、ガスセンサ、イオン交換及び潤滑剤が挙げられる(Mohapatra及びAnand、2010)。酸化鉄は、一酸化炭素の変換、エチルベンゼンのスチレンへの水素化、混合ガスの還元による硫酸水素の除去、酸化還元プロセスによる水素の生成のための高温反応等の化学プロセスの触媒として幅広く使用されている一方で、鉄金属は、フィッシャー・トロプシュ(Fischer-Tropsch)として知られるプロセスを用いたアンモニア反応に使用される。
熱力学的研究に基づくと、水素生成のための水分解のプロセスでは、Fe2O3がまずFeO又はFe活性相に還元される必要がある。それゆえ、TPR技術による分析は、Fe2O3の還元ポテンシャルを調べるために重要である。非等温でのFe2O3還元の分析を図8に示す。
Fe2O3触媒を用いた水分解による水素生成の反応を、パルス化学吸着水蒸気技術(PCWV)を用いて詳細に調べた。このプロセスは、Fe2O3の還元反応から始まり、酸化反応(水素生成のための水分解)が続き、合計1mLの水が水蒸気相に変換される。本研究では、10.4μmol H2Oに相当する0.23mLの水蒸気を1回の注入に使用した。それゆえ、理論的には、生成されたH2のmol量の合計は、供給された水蒸気のモル(mol)量である10.4μmolと等しく、この値が基準となり、各生成水素量のグラフ内に点線で表示されている。
還元温度が異なると、水素収率に影響する異なる相が形成されるため、水素生成の活性に対する還元温度の影響を調べた。Fe又はFeOの活性相がより高温で安定であるため、還元温度が低すぎると、Fe又はFeOの活性相の生成が減少することになる。しかしながら、還元温度が高すぎると、Fe2O3の焼結プロセスが発生するため、水素生成活性が低くなる可能性もある。それゆえ、水素生成活性の潜在能力を5つの異なる温度400℃、500℃、600℃、700℃及び800℃から選択し、酸化温度を600℃にして続けた。20回の水蒸気注入を系に与え、図9に示す水素生成プロファイルを得る。

Fe2O3触媒についての最適な還元反応温度は600℃であった。還元は600℃のままで、酸化温度を400℃、500℃、600℃及び700℃と変化させて、水素の生成のための酸化反応温度の影響も調べた。合計20回の水蒸気注入量を系に導入した。水素量のプロファイルを図12に示す。
粉末及び顆粒の形態の酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)を用いて、添加量(10%、20%及び30%)を変化させ、Fe2O3触媒に対して使用する担体の種類が水素の生成に及ぼす影響を調べた。Fe2O3をAl2O3に担持することは、粉末と顆粒の形態で行い、それぞれFe2O3/Al2O3、Fe2O3/Al2O3(G)と表記した。触媒活性を高めるための担体材料の使用。すべての触媒は、ともに温度600℃の最適パラメータで還元反応及び酸化反応を行った。酸化反応の際には、水蒸気を運ぶ窒素流量を10ml/分として、20回の水蒸気投入量を通過させた。
CO(N2中10%)ガス下、400~900℃でのFe2O3還元のメカニズム又は相変態を観察するため、還元された触媒のXRD分析を行った。図16は、図8に示したTPRプロファイルのパターンを支持するXRDプロファイルを示し、ここでは、400℃及び500℃において、2θ角18.5°、30.2°、35.6°、37.2°、43.2°、53.5°、57.1°、62.7°、74.1°で、それぞれ(1.1,1)、(2,20)、(3,1,1)、(2,2,2)、(4,0,0)、(5,1,1)、(4,4,0)、(5,3,3)の純Fe3O4立方晶(マグネタイト、JCPDS 71-6336)のJCPDS番号と非常によく一致するように見える回折データが得られている。加えて、得られた分析結果は、FeのJCPDS 65-4899データに基づくとFeの格子面(1,1,0)を示す44.8°という2θの値のFe相が400℃で形成されていることも示した。570℃未満の低温での還元は、通常、Fe2O3→Fe3O4相の変態によって行われる。しかしながら、(Pineau、Kanari、及びGaballah、2006)が報告しているように、完全な還元が可能な温度であれば、Fe3O4も同時にFe金属相に還元される可能性がある。それゆえ、400℃という早い段階でのFe金属の形成は、Fe3O4相のFe金属の直接還元に基づくものであり、温度が570℃を超えると、FeO相が還元活性を引き継いでFe金属を形成することになる。
図19は、500℃、600℃、700℃及び800℃の各温度においてCO下で還元したFe2O3触媒のモルホロジー特性を1万倍に拡大して比較したものを示す。FESEM分析は、還元反応後のFe2O3粒子の大きさも、Fe2O3触媒についての水素生成に重要な役割を果たしていることを示す。画像によると、還元温度が高くなるにつれ、相の粒子サイズが著しく大きくなる。Fe2O3を500℃の温度で還元すると、Fe3O4相が支配的な相となり、モルホロジーを見ると、粒子はほぼ球状の構造を持ち、互いにかなり均一なサイズを持ち、検討した他の温度に比べてサイズが小さいことが分かる。
・触媒:Fe2O3粉末
Fe2O3触媒は、他の触媒と比較して、還元及び再酸化の両反応とも10%(N2中のCO)の条件下で低温度範囲(600℃)で容易に還元及び再酸化が可能であることから、水素を生成する反応2(R2)において最も適した触媒として選択された。Fe2O3触媒は、水蒸気の1回目の投入において67%のH2収率を達成することができ、20回目の投入でも58%までのH2収率を維持した。
酸化タングステン触媒
WO3触媒に添加するいくつかの他の金属のスクリーニングに関する予備検討によって、ニッケル金属の添加は、他の金属の添加に比べて、水素の生成に非常に大きな影響を与えることが示される。Ni/WO3修飾触媒系による高い水素生成は、触媒が還元反応を行い、次いで水分子を分解し、その後、還元された金属を酸化して水素を生成する能力を持っているためである。
酸化タングステン(WO3)の熱力学的評価により、2工程プロセス(還元及び酸化)による水素の生成に適していることが示された。酸化タングステンは水素の生成のためのどちらの反応でも好適性を示し、ニッケルを加えると性能が向上する。金属タングステン及びその酸化物は高融点を有し、結果として非常に焼結しにくく、高温の酸化還元反応には理想的な候補である。しかしながら、WO3の性能を向上させるためには、WO3に助触媒を添加する必要がある。

パルス化学吸着水蒸気(PCWV)法を用いて、様々なNi金属(3重量%、5重量%、10重量%、15重量%及び25重量%)をドープしたWO3のNiの水素生成への影響を調べた。水素生成の反応は2工程で構成されており、第1工程は、還元剤として40%(N2中のCO)を使用し、温度900℃(10ml/分)で還元反応を行い、続いて温度800℃で窒素ガスを20ml/分で流して酸化反応(水分解)を行い、水素ガスを生成した。

900℃で還元された、WO3並びに様々な割合のNi(10%、15%及び25%)Niを含むNi/WO3触媒シリーズに、800℃の水蒸気を20回の投入で通過させて水素を生成した。
還元温度は、水蒸気分子と反応して水素を生成する役割を果たす活性部位としての相を生成する上で非常に重要であるため、還元温度の影響を調べた。選択した触媒15%Ni/WO3は、800℃、850℃及び900℃の異なる還元温度で水素の製造を行った。一方、酸化反応(水分解)の温度は800℃に設定されている。水分子の反応時には、水蒸気を運ぶ窒素流量を20ml/分として、20回の水蒸気投入量を通過させた。
水素生成に対する酸化反応(水分解)の温度の影響についても検討する。15%Ni/WO3触媒系の還元反応温度の最適化は、先に述べた結果に基づいて850℃に決定した。水分子の反応(酸化)は、700℃、750℃及び800℃の異なる温度で行われる。
酸化反応の際に水蒸気を運ぶ窒素の流量の、水素の生成に与える影響についても調べた。この最適化では、還元温度を850℃、酸化温度を750℃とし、流量を10mL/分、15mL/分、及び20mL/分と変化させて、15%Ni/WO3の最良の触媒系を使用した。

600℃で焼成した後に得られた、調製した未ドープのWO3並びに異なる添加量(10重量%、15重量%及び25重量%)のニッケルをドープしたWO3のXRDパターンを図31に示す。未ドープのWO3の回折パターンのすべてのピークは、化学量論的な単斜晶相(JCPDS 1-072-0677)に帰属された。Ni元素を添加した後、硝酸ニッケルと酸化タングステンとの化学的相互作用により、複合合金NiWO4(JCPDS-1-072-1189)の存在に関して小さな変化が観察された。結果として、Ni/WO3触媒はWO3及びNiWO4の2種から構成される。さらに、単斜晶系のWO3相の強度は、添加するNiの量が増えるにつれて減少した。
図34(i)、(ii)及び(iii)は、WO3、NiO及び15%Ni/WO3の触媒を、それぞれ600℃で4時間、同じ温度と時間でコーティングした後のFESEM画像(倍率20,000で示す)を示す。WO3のモルホロジーは、不均一なサイズの多面体粒子のような構造を持ち、滑らかな表面を持っていた(Hongboら、2015)。一方、NiOは特定の幾何学的形状を持たず、立方体又は半小球体の粒子のような形状をしている(Rashidi、Ebrahim、及びDabir、2013)。一方、WO3のモルホロジーは、15%Ni/WO3の焼成プロセス後に新たなNiWO4合金粒子複合体が存在するために変化する。そのモルホロジーはWO3金属酸化物を表す2種類の球体のように見え、不均一な球状の大きさはNiWO4合金複合体を表し、小さな部分的な球体を持つ小さなNiOのモルホロジーを表している。
・触媒:15%Ni/WO3
・酸化タングステンの還元及び再酸化において、以下の最適な実験条件を採用した。
触媒15%Ni/WO3の最適な還元反応は、亜酸化物相WO2.72、WO2、W及びWCを生成することから、850℃である。
酸化ニッケル触媒
酸化ニッケルは、その表面酸化特性のために確立された触媒として使用された(Rahim、Hameed、及びKhalil、2004)。触媒作用は表面効果であり、使用する触媒は可能な限り大きい活性表面積を持つ必要があることが知られている(Antolini、2003)。金属酸化物の金属への還元は、技術的にも商業的にもかなり重要な不均一反応の一種を代表するため、広く研究されている(Ostyn及びCarter、1982)。ドーピング法は、触媒特性、電気光学特性、磁気特性、化学的特性及び物理的特性を新たにするか又は向上させるために、ナノ粒子の電子構造を変更するために広く利用されている(Liaoら、2008)。未ドープのNiO触媒及びドープされたNiO触媒の還元は、広範囲にわたって研究されており、多くの触媒反応において重要な役割を果たしている(Laosiripojana、2005)。触媒反応(Kuhlenbeck、Shaikhutdinov、及びFreund、2013)、電池(Poizotら、2000)、スーパーキャパシタ、エレクトロクロミック(Gillaspie、Tenent、及びDillon、2010)、センサ(Hoa及びEl-safty、2011)等、酸化ニッケルの主な用途は、ナノ構造化及び結晶サイズをナノメートルスケールまで小さくすることで、多くの恩恵を受けることができる。
図37は、N2中40%COを20mL/分の流量で、10℃/分の流量で流しながら、温度が900℃に達するまで非等温処理を行うことによる、NiO触媒を還元してNi金属を形成する分析についての一酸化炭素-温度プログラム還元(CO-TPR)プロファイルを示す。CO-TPRプロファイルに基づくと、符号Iが付いた唯一の明瞭なピークが観察された。このピークは、NiOからNi(0)への還元反応が温度387℃で起こり始めていることを示すが、この温度ではBoudouardも発生しているため、部分的にしか還元されていない。COによるNiO触媒の還元及びBoudouard反応は、以下の式(式12及び式13)で示される。Boudouard反応は、反応エンタルピーΔHr=-172.0kJ・mol-1の値が非常に負であることから、過剰なCOが存在すると自然発生的に起こり、最大となる可能性が高い。NiO触媒の還元反応と比較すると、反応エンタルピーΔHr=-43.0kJ・mol-1は負の値が小さく、反応は部分的にしか起こらなかった。

a.酸化ニッケルについての担体材料の影響
担体材料は、金属及び金属酸化物等の活性化合物のクラッターサイト(clutter site)及び安定化剤として働く。活性物質を使用することは、触媒反応プロセスにおいて、元素又は表面に露出した元素のクラスターだけが反応することを防ぐことである。加えて、この担体は活性化合物の凝集を防ぐこともできる。一般に、担体材料は不活性であるため、進行中の反応に関与することはなく、むしろ触媒活性の向上に寄与することもある。これまでの研究に基づくと、担体材料の使用は、金属酸化物の還元反応及び酸化反応(水分解)における触媒活性に非常に大きな影響を与えることができる。典型的には、SiO2、Al2O3、TiO2及びZrO2等の担体材料が使用される。本研究では、Al2O3(K)、Al2O3(A)等の使用した担体材料はより中性であり、SiO2及びSiO2-Al2O3は弱酸性である。
最適な温度求めて、5%NiO-SiO2触媒を用いた還元反応の影響を、500℃、600℃、700℃及び800℃の4つの異なる温度で行った。一方、酸化反応(水分解)の温度は600℃とする。水蒸気を運ぶ窒素流量を20mL/分として、酸化反応(水分解)時の水蒸気投入を20回とした。
本研究では、最適な水素収率のために還元温度の影響を考慮していることに加えて、酸化温度の影響も考慮して検討している。酸化反応(水分解)は、500℃、600℃、700℃及び800℃の異なる温度で、20回もの水蒸気を投入して行われる。1回の投入ごとに0.23cm3の水蒸気(10.4μmol H2O)が流される。
水素の生成には、還元反応の温度及び酸化反応(水分解)の温度の影響に加えて、酸化反応(水分解)のために水蒸気を運ぶN2の流量又は接触時間の影響も非常に重要な役割を果たしている。これは、より遅い水蒸気を運ぶN2の流量ほど、触媒表面に接触して水分子が反応する時間が長くなり、より多くの水素が得られるからである。水蒸気を運ぶN2の流れが水素生成に与える影響を調べるため、まず5%NiO-SiO2触媒に、N2中40%CO(20mL/分)下で温度が700℃になるまで非等温で通過させた。さらには、水素生成のための酸化反応(水分解)は、パルス化学吸着水蒸気(PCWV)法を用いて、20mL/分、15mL/分及び10mL/分の異なる水蒸気を運ぶN2の流量で、各投入において合計10.40μmolの水蒸気を与えることにより、600℃で行う。ただし、酸化反応(水分解)の前に、まず合計20mL/分のN2ガスを30分間導入し、還元反応の際にトラップされたCOガスを除去した。
図46は、N2(20mL/分)中40%CO流量下での700℃までの非等温還元反応(10℃/分)の前後と、水蒸気を運ぶN2の流量を10mL/分として600℃での水素生成のための水蒸気の20回投入の作用酸化反応(水分解)の後の、5%NiO-SiO2触媒のXRDディフラクトグラムを示す。一般に、2θ=10°~80°の範囲内のXRD回折パターンは、5%NiO-SiO2触媒の水素生成のための還元反応後及び酸化反応(水分解)後に同じ拡散ピークを示す。還元反応前のXRD回折パターンは、面hkl[1,1,1]、[2,0,0]、[2,2,0]、[3,1,1]及び[2,2,2]上にNiO立方晶相(JCPDS 00-047-1049)が形成されていることを示す。さらには、還元反応後及び20回及び100回の水蒸気投入量の酸化反応後のXRD拡散パターンは、hkl[1,1,1]、[2,0,0]及び[2,2,0]の面内にNi立方晶相(JCPDS 01-087-9414)が存在し、NiOの拡散ピークは見られないことを示した。NiO及びNiのピーク以外にも、還元反応及び酸化反応(水分解)の前後で変化していないアモルファス状態のSiO2担体を指す他のピークが存在する。これは、SiO2担体材料が不活性であり、いかなる反応にも関与していないことを示す。
還元反応前の5%NiO-SiO2触媒に対して行った、FESEM-EDX技術を用いた触媒の特性評価を図47に示す。この触媒の特性評価方法は、触媒の表面モルホロジー(表面形態)を調べるために用いられる。一方、吸収X線(EDX)技術は、各触媒5%NiO-SiO2の表面上の元素を決定するために使用される。形態分析により、SiO2担体材料はアモルファス相で見られ、様々な形態のNiO触媒粒子のみがSiO2担体材料の表面に散在しているように見えることが示されている。
予備研究では、熱力学的アプローチにより、一連の金属酸化物を評価し、様々な条件下での反応性及び潜在的な水素生成能力を試験した。一酸化炭素の還元及び(水蒸気を用いた)酸化の両方で反応し、クリーンな水素を生成することについて金属酸化物を選択するために熱力学データを得た。Fe2O3、WO3及びNiOを含む酸化還元触媒が、さらなる実験的分析に適していることが特定された。これらの触媒は、熱力学的に見て、水分解プロセスによる水素の生成に適していることが特定された。
還元及び水素の生成に及ぼすZr助触媒の添加の影響

Zrドープ酸化鉄は、Fe2O3粉末にジルコニア(III)水溶液を含浸させることにより調製した。Zrの量は、Zr金属が1重量%、3重量%、5重量%及び10重量%になるように調整した。このFe2O3粉末に、対応する金属カチオン添加剤50mlを直接含浸させ、室温で5時間激しく撹拌した。含浸させた試料を110℃で一晩乾燥させ、続いて600℃で3時間焼成した。
図51から、FESEM画像及び元素マッピングは、5%Zr/Fe2O3触媒の金属酸化物粒子上にZr元素がよく分散していることを示す。これは、Zr助触媒の添加量が多い(10重量%及び15重量%)他の触媒系よりも優れていた。
i.金属酸化物の還元(TPR)
図52は、CO(N2中10%)を還元剤として用い、粉末のFe2O3、粉砕したペレット(500μm未満)のFe2O3、及びZrをドープした一連のFe2O3を900℃まで非等温還元したときのTPRパターンを示す。このTPRプロファイルは、還元温度の初期に1つの明瞭なピークがあり、その後、より高い温度で幅広い還元ピークが続くという、非常に類似したパターンを示す。Fe2O3(粉末)試料の低温ピークは335℃で起こり、Fe2O3(GP)試料の低温ピークは535℃であり、粉末Fe2O3に比べて高温である。
N2の流れの中で、0.98cm3の試料ループを用いて約0.23cm3(10.4μmol)の水蒸気をパルスごとに還元後の金属酸化物に投入し、水分解反応(酸化)をさせて水素を生成させた。図53及び図54は、ZrドープFe2O3系触媒の温度600℃及び500℃における水素生成量をそれぞれ示す。5%ZrFe2O3(GP)触媒は、いずれも温度600℃での還元反応及び酸化反応(水分解)において、より高い水素量を生成する。
図55は、Fe2O3及びZr添加量を変えたZr/Fe2O3触媒シリーズの、600℃でのCO(N2中10%)を用いた還元反応後のXRDディフラクトグラムを示す。このプロファイルによれば、Zr添加量が減少すると、Fe2O3の還元性は高まる。これは、Zr添加量が増加するとピークIIIが高温側にシフトするというTPRプロファイルと一致する。
図57は、水分解(酸化)反応の水素生成量に対する温度変化の影響を示す。結果は、酸化反応の温度の影響により、5%Zr/Fe2O3触媒が最適な活性を生み出す異なるプロファイルが得られることを示す。400℃では、1回目の水蒸気注入時の転化率が最も高く(46.2%)、温度300℃の場合(28.8%)に比べて急激に上昇し、水素生成量も300℃の場合の3.0μmolに比べて4.8μmolと最も良好な値を示した。しかしながら、水素の百分率は、温度500℃ではわずかに減少した(43.6%)が、600℃にするとわずかに増加した(44.7%)。
図58の還元温度を550℃、600℃及び650℃と変化させたときに生成する水素量によれば、水素量に変化があることがわかった。初期の注入数では大きな違いは見られないが、550℃及び650℃の温度で注入数が10回目になると、水素の生成量が減少する。この状況は、650℃の温度で発生する焼結効果によるものと考えられる。一方、550℃の還元温度では、水素生成に寄与することができる活性相が減少している。
触媒活性を調べるために、水分解(酸化)反応におけるキャリアガス(窒素)の流量を10mL/分、15mL/分、20mL/分と変え、接触時間をそれぞれ0.5分、0.33分及び0.25分とした。図59の水素量の結果は、とりわけキャリアガスの流量が少なくなると、流量が触媒の活性に大きく影響するように見えることを示す。10mL/分の窒素流量では、15mL/分(6.4μmol)及び20mL/分(4.6μmol)の流量に比べて、9.4μmolの最適な水素量が得られた。
図60は、80回の水蒸気注入に対して、還元温度600℃及び酸化温度400℃で、5%Zr/Fe2O3触媒及びFe2O3触媒によって生成した水素の量を比較したものを示す。その結果、Fe2O3触媒の1回目の水蒸気注入で生成した水素の量は7.8μmolであるのに対し、5%Zr/Fe2O3では9.4μmolであった。この値は注入回数が増えるにつれて低くなり、両触媒に80回の水蒸気注入量を与えた場合、最後の注入時の水素量はそれぞれ3.4μmol及び5.4μmolとなる。
5%ZrFe2O3触媒は、最高の条件で水素を生成することができ、水蒸気から水素への転化率は90.4%を達成し、水素収率(%)は、理論値(80%)に非常に近い72.3%に達した。

- 前記担体材料が、酸化アルミニウム、酸化シリカ、酸化ジルコニウム、酸化亜鉛及び酸化スズの群から選択される請求項1に記載の含浸触媒。
- 前記含浸触媒が58%~73%の範囲の純水素をもたらす請求項1に記載の含浸触媒。
- 純水素製造用含浸触媒の調製方法(10)であって、
(i)単一の金属酸化物粉末、助触媒及び担体材料を提供する工程(11)と、
(ii)前記金属酸化物粉末、前記助触媒及び前記担体材料を、対応する金属カチオンを有する水性塩に添加して混合物を形成する工程(12)と、
(iii)前記混合物を撹拌して含浸触媒を形成する工程(13)と、
(iv)前記含浸触媒を乾燥し焼成する工程(14)と
を含む純水素製造用含浸触媒の調製方法。 - 工程(11)における前記金属酸化物が、すべてのdブロック元素から選択される請求項6に記載の純水素製造用含浸触媒の調製方法。
- 工程(11)の前記助触媒が、酸化ジルコニウム、酸化ニッケル、酸化モリブデン、酸化ニオブ、酸化ルテニウム、酸化ロジウム、酸化パラジウム、酸化銀、酸化クロム、酸化バナジウム、酸化マンガン、酸化鉄、酸化銅、酸化亜鉛、酸化イリジウム、酸化タングステン、酸化白金及び酸化金から選択される請求項6に記載の純水素製造用含浸触媒の調製方法。
- 工程(11)における前記助触媒が硝酸塩の形態にある請求項8に記載の純水素製造用含浸触媒の調製方法。
- 工程(11)における前記担体材料が、酸化アルミニウム、酸化シリカ、酸化ジルコニウム、酸化亜鉛及び酸化スズの群から選択される請求項6に記載の純水素製造用含浸触媒の調製方法。
- 工程(13)における撹拌工程が40℃~80℃で4~5時間行われる請求項6に記載の純水素製造用含浸触媒の調製方法。
- 工程(14)の乾燥工程が、110℃~150℃の温度で一晩行われる請求項6に記載の純水素製造用含浸触媒の調製方法。
- 工程(14)の焼成工程が400℃~600℃の温度で行われる請求項6に記載の純水素製造用含浸触媒の調製方法。
- 前記含浸触媒が、10重量%~50重量%の金属酸化物、1重量%~15重量%の助触媒金属酸化物、及び60重量%~90重量%の金属酸化物担体材料の比率で調製される請求項6に記載の純水素製造用含浸触媒の調製方法。
- 製造された含浸触媒が58%~73%の範囲の純水素をもたらす請求項6に記載の純水素製造用含浸触媒の調製方法。
- 純水素の製造方法(20)であって、
請求項1から請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の含浸触媒を水と反応させて、金属酸化物を形成し、選択的に純粋な水素を生成する工程(21)と、
前記金属酸化物を一酸化炭素と反応させて、再利用のために前記含浸触媒を取り戻す工程(22)と
を含み、これらの工程が少なくとも反応器内で同時に行われ、これにより選択的に純粋な水素が400℃~800℃の温度範囲で回収される方法。 - 純水素の製造のための請求項1から請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の触媒の使用であって、反応温度が1倍~1/2倍に低下される使用。
- 前記反応温度が400℃~800℃の範囲である、純水素の製造のための請求項16に記載の触媒の使用。
