- 給水を処理する方法であって、樹脂ビーズ及び生きている微生物を含むバイオ層に前記給水を通して、バイオ層処理水を生成する工程を含み、
(a)前記バイオ層における面積正規化フリーボイド容積は、0.018m3/m2以下であり;
(b)前記バイオ層における充填密度は、0.68〜0.96であり;
(c)前記樹脂ビーズの外表面積対前記バイオ層における全フリーボイド容積の比は、2.0未満〜50m2/Lであり;
(d)前記バイオ層を通した前記水の速度は、1時間当たり100〜1,500バイオ層容積であり;及び
(e)前記バイオ層を通した流れのレイノルズ数は、0.10〜3.0である、方法。 - 前記バイオ層は、容器中に配置され、
