Abstract
Description
このような無線通信システムとして、下記特許文献1には、ハンディタイプの無線通信用リーダ装置から、電磁波を無線通信タグに向けて放出するとともに、無線通信タグから放出された電磁波を、無線通信用リーダ装置で読み取る構成が開示されている。

λ:高周波電流の波長(mm)、L:ケーブルアンテナの先端部と、露出部における先端部側の端部と、の間の距離L(mm)
図1に示すように、本実施形態に係るケーブルアンテナ1は、無線通信タグ2に搭載された無線ICチップ3と、電磁波の授受による無線通信を行う通信リーダの一部を構成する。図1は、本実施形態に係るケーブルアンテナ1の外観図である。
無線ICチップ3としては、RFIDシステムにおいて一般的に用いられるものを採用することができる。
ケーブルアンテナ1は、複数の屈曲点1Aが形成されながら、屈曲点1Aを挟む両側が互いに並行とならないように屈曲している。図示の例では、ケーブルアンテナ1は、いわゆる九十九折状態となっている。
図1では、ケーブルアンテナ1の周囲に、複数の無線通信タグ2が、無作為な向きに配置されている。
図示の例では、露出部15において、外側導体13とともに絶縁層12が除去され、内側導体11が露出している。すなわち、露出部25とは、外側導体13よりも径方向の内側にある部分が露出している部分という意味である。
図3に示すように、ケーブルアンテナ1のうち、露出部15よりも先端部側にある部分は、露出部15から真っすぐ延びている。露出部15は、ケーブルアンテナ1に一つだけ設けられている。
同軸ケーブルは、図2に示す内部構造をしており、同軸ケーブルの外側導体を所定の幅寸法Gだけ除去することで、本発明のケーブルアンテナ1を得ることができる。
例えば、同軸ケーブルから外被14を所定の幅寸法だけ除去し、その後に外側導体13を同じ幅寸法だけ除去する。最後に絶縁層12を同じ幅寸法だけ除去することで、ケーブルアンテナ1が得られる。なおここで、幅寸法とは長手方向の寸法を指す。
これにより、露出部15では内側導体11の周辺の周回磁界が相殺されず、ケーブルアンテナ1全体としては、露出部15にのみ、円環状の磁界が発生したのと同じ状態となる。
λ/20≦G<L・・・(1)
この式において、λは高周波電流の波長(mm)を示し、Lは、前述の通り、ケーブルアンテナ1の先端部と、露出部15における先端部側の端部と、の間の距離L(mm)を指している。
露出部15の幅寸法Gが微小である場合には、物理的には外側導体13が除去されていても、露出部15を長手方向に挟む外側導体13同士の間が、電気的には導通している状態となるためである。このため、式(1)のλ/20≦Gが要求される。
次に、本実施形態に係るケーブルアンテナ1におけるアンテナ入力特性の評価結果について説明する。この試験では、ケーブルアンテナ1における先端部から露出部15までの距離Lを変更した場合におけるアンテナ特性の変化を評価した。
ここで、反射損失S11とは、ケーブルへの入力電力に対するケーブルから電源への反射電力の比をデシベル表示した値であり、下記式(2)により算出され、その値が小さいほど、ケーブルアンテナ1の効率が良いとされる値である。
また、露出部15の長手方向の幅寸法Gが、式(1)を満たしているので、露出部15から実効的に電磁波を放出させることができる。
そこで、このような特性を持つケーブルアンテナ1を、例えば商品棚などに配置し、商品棚に陳列された商品に無線通信タグ2を付した場合には、効率的な商品管理に供することが期待される。
ケーブルアンテナ1を、例えば平面視で円形状をなすループ状に配置してもよいし、並行する2辺が一定の距離を置くように、平面視で矩形状をなすように配置してもよい。
また、ケーブルアンテナ1をらせん状に配置した場合には、立体的に配置した無線通信タグ2に対して、効率的に無線通信を行うことができる。

Claims (4)
- 高周波電流を供給する発振器が一端部に接続されるケーブルアンテナであって、
ケーブル状に延びる内側導体と、
前記内側導体を被覆する絶縁層と、
前記絶縁層を被覆する外側導体と、を有し、
前記ケーブルアンテナの長手方向における中間部には、少なくとも外側導体が除去された露出部が形成されていることを特徴とするケーブルアンテナ。 - 前記ケーブルアンテナの先端部と、前記露出部における先端部側の端部と、の間の距離Lは、前記高周波電流の波長λの1/4の奇数倍であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のケーブルアンテナ。
- 前記露出部の長手方向の幅寸法Gは、下記式(1)を満たしていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のケーブルアンテナ。
