以下、実施形態の変形例について、図16から図18を参照して説明する。
図16は、変形例1におけるX×Y=2×4(8つ)の画素Pixにそれぞれ割り当てられる色及び画素電極72の種類の一例を示す模式図である。変形例1の画素Pixは、実施形態の画素Pix1、画素Pix2、画素Pix3及び画素Pix4に加えて、さらに画素Pix5、画素Pix6、画素Pix7及び画素Pix8を含む。
図18は、変形例2におけるX×Y=2×4(8つ)の画素Pixにそれぞれ割り当てられる色及び画素電極72の種類の一例を示す模式図である。変形例2では、実施形態に比して第3副画素49BのX−Y平面視の大きさをより大きくし、第4副画素49WのX−Y平面視の大きさをより小さくしている。変形例2では、1つの第3副画素49Bの大きさは、1つの第1副画素49R及び1つの第2副画素49Gの大きさよりも大きい。また、1つの第4副画素49Wの大きさは、1つの第1副画素49R及び1つの第2副画素49Gの大きさよりも小さい。

- 第1色の副画素と、第2色の副画素と、第3色の副画素とを含む第1画素と、
前記第1色の副画素と、前記第2色の副画素と、第4色の副画素とを含む第2画素とを備え、
前記第1画素と前記第2画素は、行方向及び列方向に交互に配置され、
前記第3色の副画素と前記第4色の副画素は、前記列方向に交互に配置され、
前記副画素が有する画素電極は、所定方向に延出するブランチ電極を含み、
前記列方向に隣り合う2つの前記第1色の副画素の一方が有する前記ブランチ電極の第1延出方向と他方が有する前記ブランチ電極の第2延出方向とは異なり、
前記列方向に隣り合う2つの前記第2色の副画素の一方が有する前記ブランチ電極の主部の前記第1延出方向と他方が有する前記ブランチ電極の主部の前記第2延出方向とは異なり、
前記第1延出方向及び前記第2延出方向は、前記行方向及び前記列方向と異なり、
