Abstract

本願は、2016年11月16日に出願された米国仮特許出願番号62/423,052の優先権を主張するものであり、その全体が、本明細書において参照により組み込まれる。
本発明は、カーボンナノチューブの生成に関し、特に、溶融炭酸塩電解液から、伸長された(長く伸びた、長尺化された)、巨視的な長さ(目に見える程度の長さ)のカーボンナノチューブ(macroscopic length carbon nanotubes)の生成に関するものである。
一例では、カーボンナノチューブの製造方法が開示される。炭酸塩電解質が熱せられ、溶融炭酸塩電解質が得られる。溶融炭酸塩電解質は、セル内のアノードとカソードの間に配置される。そのセル内は、モネルカソードまたはニクロムアノードの様なカーボンナノチューブが成長し長尺化する要素が含まれる。セル内のカソードとアノードに電流が流される。セルのカソードから、成長したカーボンナノチューブが回収される。

Claims (32)
- カーボンナノチューブを生成する方法であって、
溶融炭酸塩電解質を得るために炭酸塩電解質を加熱することと、
セル内のアノードとカソードとの間に、前記溶融炭酸塩電解質を配置することと、
前記セル内に、カーボンナノチューブの成長の伸長化の要素を含めることと、
前記セル内の前記カソードと前記アノードとに電流を流すことと、
前記セル内の前記カソードから成長したカーボンナノチューブを収集することとを有する方法。 - 請求項1において、
前記成長の伸長化の要素は、カソード材料、電解質添加剤、およびアノード材料の少なくとも1つを含む、方法。 - 請求項2において、
前記少なくとも1つのカーボンナノチューブの成長の伸長化の要素は、ニッケル、銅、クロム、鉄、マンガン、チタン、ジルコニウム、モリブデン、タンタル、コバルト、シリコン、炭素、および、それらの合金および混合物からなる群の中から選択された少なくとも1つである、方法。 - 請求項3において、
