Abstract
Description
・材料は、既知の滅菌法によって滅菌可能であることが好ましい。具体的には、材料は、尿道カテーテルの放射線滅菌を可能にするために、それが本質的に劣化することなく、少なくとも50kGyに耐え得るような放射線耐性を有することが好ましい。
実施例
第1の実施例では、管状シャフトは、上記で説明されたように、間欠押出成形によって製造されたものであり、より柔らかいセクション、中間移行セクション、及びより硬いセクションとともに、図8に関連して上記で説明された方法で構造化した。両方の材料を、移行セクションにおける斜めの移行部ともに、図5に関連して上記で説明された方法で、管状シャフトの全長にわたって連続的に設けた。
結論
当業者は、本発明が、上記で説明された好ましい実施形態に決して限定されないことを理解する。それどころか、添付の特許請求の範囲内において多くの変更及び変形が可能である。例えば、尿道カテーテルは、フレア状の後方部を有している必要はなく、代わりに、管状シャフトの端部で終わってもよく、また、丸みを帯びた、閉じた先端部を有している必要もなく、代わりに管状シャフト自体で終わり得る。更に、閉じた先端部が使用される場合、先端部は、カテーテルの長手方向を直接向いている直線状であるか、先端部の端部がカテーテルの長手方向に対して平行でない方向を向いているように、わずかに湾曲状であるかのいずれかであり得る。更に、多くの異なる材料及び材料の組合せが、管状シャフトを製造するために使用され、それでもなお所望の材料性質を得ることができる。このような変更及び他の変更は、添付の特許請求の範囲内にあるものと解釈されるべきである。
Claims (18)
- 挿入端部と排出端部との間に延びる管状シャフトを備える尿道カテーテルであって、前記管状シャフトは、異なる性質を有する少なくとも2つの材料から形成され、前記材料の各々は、別個のゾーンおいて実質的に互いに分離されて配置され、ここにおいて、前記ゾーンの幅及び厚さのうちの少なくとも1つは、前記材料の様々な相対量を有する前記管状シャフトの2つ以上の均一なセクションを形成するために、前記管状シャフトの長さにわたって変化し、ここにおいて、2つのこのような均一なセクション間の少なくとも1つの移行部が、前記均一なセクション間の緩やかな移行を提供する少なくとも1つの移行セクションによって形成されている、尿道カテーテル。
- 前記移行セクションの各々は、前記管状シャフトの全長の2〜30%の範囲内、好ましくは4〜20%の範囲内、更により好ましくは5〜10%の範囲内の伸長部を有する、請求項1に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- 前記2つ以上の均一なセクションは全体で、前記管状シャフトの全長の少なくとも50%、好ましくは少なくとも75%、最も好ましくは少なくとも90%にわたって延びる、請求項1又は2に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- 前記2つの材料は異なる硬度を有し、一方はより柔らかであり、一方はより剛性であり、それによって、異なる柔軟性を有する均一なセクションを提供する、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- 前記管状シャフトは、2つ以上の材料を使用して間欠押出成形によって形成された押出チューブである、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- カテーテルチューブが、内側内腔を取り囲む円形壁を備え、ここにおいて、前記円形壁は、前記管状シャフトの円周の周りに及び実質的に全長にわたって、均一且つ一定の肉厚を有する、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- 前記別個のゾーンのうちの少なくとも1つは、前記管状シャフトの本質的に全長にわたって延び、好ましくは、前記少なくとも2つの別個のゾーンの全てが、前記管状シャフトの本質的に全長にわたって連続的に延びている、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- 異なる材料の前記別個のゾーンは、前記尿道カテーテルの長手方向に延び、円周方向において分離されており、前記ゾーンは、前記尿道カテーテルの長さに沿って前記円周方向において変化している幅を有する、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- 異なる材料の前記別個のゾーンは、前記尿道カテーテルの長手方向に延び、層において分離されており、各層は、好ましくは、前記尿道カテーテルの全円周の周りに延び、前記層は、前記尿道カテーテルの長さに沿って変化している厚さを有する、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- 前記管状シャフトは、前記挿入端部からより遠く離れている別のセクションよりも柔らかい、前記挿入端部に最も近い均一なセクションを備える、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- 前記管状シャフトは、少なくとも4つの均一なセクションを備え、そのうちの少なくとも2つは相対的により柔らかく、少なくとも2つは相対的により硬く、前記より柔らかいセクション及びより硬いセクションは、全ての隣接する均一なセクション間に配置される移行セクションとともに、カテーテルシャフトの長さに沿って交互に配置される、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- 前記ゾーンは、互いに可視的に識別可能であり、それによって、前記尿道カテーテルの回転位置及びカテーテルシャフトに沿った長さ位置のうちの少なくとも1つに関連する目印を提供する、請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- 前記均一なセクションのうちの少なくとも1つは、相対的により柔らかく、25〜150MPa*mm4の範囲にある曲げ剛性を有し、前記均一なセクションのうちの別のものは、相対的により硬く、180〜1600MPa*mm4、好ましくは300〜1500MPa*mm4の範囲にある曲げ剛性を有する、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- 前記管状シャフトは、親水性表面コーティングで少なくとも部分的にコーティングされ、前記コーティングは、好ましくは、前記尿道カテーテルの少なくとも挿入可能な部分を覆い、前記親水性表面コーティングは、湿潤時に低摩擦を発揮する、請求項1〜13のいずれか一項に記載の尿道カテーテル。
- 尿道カテーテルを製造するための方法であって、管状シャフトを形成することを備え、その端部において挿入端部及び排出端部を配置し、前記管状シャフトは、異なる性質を有する少なくとも2つの材料から形成され、前記材料の各々は、別個のゾーンおいて実質的に互いに分離されて配置され、前記別個のゾーンのうちの少なくとも1つは、好ましくは、前記管状シャフトの本質的に全長にわたって延び、ここにおいて、前記ゾーンの幅及び厚さのうちの少なくとも1つは、前記材料の様々な相対量を有する前記管状シャフトの2つ以上の均一なセクションを形成するために、前記管状シャフトの長さにわたって変化し、ここにおいて、2つの前記均一なセクション間の少なくとも1つの移行部が、前記均一なセクション間の緩やかな移行を提供する少なくとも1つの移行セクションによって形成される、方法。
- 前記管状シャフトは、間欠押出成形によって作製される、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 2つ以上の管状シャフトは、2つの別々の押出ノズルを通じて同時に形成され、前記管状シャフトの前記形成は、互いに関してオフセットされている、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記2つ以上の管状シャフト間の前記オフセットは、前記2つ以上の材料の本質的に一定の流量が、前記押出ノズルを通って吐出されるように設定される、請求項17に記載の方法。
