- 前記少なくとも1つの監視信号を前記偏光変調するステップ(402)は、100GHz以上の周波数において、前記監視信号の前記偏光を変調するステップを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つの監視信号を前記偏光変調するステップ(402)は、629.18メガラジアン/秒以上において前記監視信号の前記偏光を変調するステップを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つの監視信号を前記偏光変調するステップ(402)は、前記監視信号が約0のSOPを有するように、前記監視信号の前記偏光を変調するステップを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記データ信号及び前記監視信号は或るシステム帯域幅内にあり、前記監視信号は該システム帯域幅のエッジにあるか、又は該システム帯域幅の他の部分にある、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記監視信号は、隣接する次のデータ信号から200GHz以下だけ分離される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つの監視信号を前記偏光変調するステップ(402)は、
監視データを或る波長上に変調し、被変調信号を与えるステップと、
信号発生器からの信号に応答して、偏光変調器を用いて前記被変調信号を変調するステップと、
を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 複数のデータ信号送信機(TX1..TXN)であって、該データ信号送信機はそれぞれ、関連するデータ信号を送信するように構成される、複数のデータ信号送信機と、
少なくとも1つの監視信号送信機(107)であって、該監視信号送信機(107)は、偏光変調を用いて関連する監視信号を送信するように構成される、少なくとも1つの監視信号送信機と、
光伝送経路(102)上で前記データ信号及び前記監視信号を合成するように構成されるマルチプレクサー(112)と、
を備える、システム。 - 前記データ信号は、前記監視信号のデータ速度より名目的に速いデータ速度を有する、請求項10に記載のシステム。
- 前記データ信号は、1Gb/sより速いデータ速度を有し、前記監視信号は、100Mb/s未満のデータ速度を有する、請求項10に記載のシステム。
- 前記監視信号は、約100Mrad/s以上の偏光変調速度を有する、請求項10に記載のシステム。
- 前記データ信号及び前記監視信号は或るシステム帯域幅内にあり、前記監視信号は該システム帯域幅のエッジにある、請求項10に記載のシステム。
- 前記監視信号は、隣接する次のデータ信号から200GHz以下だけ分離される、請求項10に記載のシステム。
