坪量方法
本明細書で説明される材料の坪量は、いくつかの利用可能な技術によって判定され得るが、単純な代表的技術は、吸収性物品又は他の消費者製品を取ること、存在する恐れがある一切の弾性を除去すること、及び吸収性物品又は他の消費者製品をその全長まで伸張させることを伴う。次に、45.6cm2の面積を有する打抜き型を使用して、存在し得る任意の他の層に材料を固定するために用いられ得るいかなる接着剤も最大限に回避する位置で、吸収性物品又はその他の消費者製品のほぼ中心から、分析対象の材料(例えば、トップシート又はバックシート)片を切り取り、その他の層から材料を除去する(必要に応じてCyto−Freeze(Control Company(Houston,Texas))などの低温スプレーを用いて)。続いて、サンプルを秤量して打抜き型の面積で割ると、材料の坪量が得られる。結果を、5つのサンプルの平均値として、0.1cm2単位で報告する。
試験前に、サンプルを23℃±2℃、及び50%±2%相対湿度で2時間調整する。試験は同じ環境条件下で行う。全ての直線的測定は、NIST又はその他の標準化機構にトレーサブルな目盛り付きスチールメタル製定規を用いて行う。キャリパーの測定は、Schiefer標準ばね式縮み計(Frazier Precision Instrument Co.(Hagerstown MD)から入手可能)又はその等価物を用いて行う。縮み計は、脚部として直径4.75mmのボールと共に使用した。本明細書では、前部、後部、左、及び右は、着用者の身体上における製品の配向を意味する。
機材の準備
サンプルの曲げ特性を、測定した力がセルの限界の10%〜90%以内となるロードセルを使用した定速の延伸引張試験機(好適な計器は、MTS Systems Corp.(Eden Prairie,MN)から入手可能な、Testworks 4.0 Softwareを使用したMTS Allianceである)で測定する。全ての試験は、23℃±3℃及び50%±2%の相対湿度に制御された室内で行う。
試験前に、23℃±3℃及び50%±2%の相対湿度で2時間、サンプルを調整する。物品を、包み、及び存在する場合は取り出された物品の剥離紙から取り出して、パンティ固定用接着剤(PFA)を露出させる。タルク粉末をバックシート上のPFAに塗布して粘着性を軽減させる。物品の中心から物品の長手方向(MD)に50mm、横方向(CD)に50mmの正方形の検体を切り取る。サンプルは、物品内に存在するどの折り目からもオフセットするべきである。サンプルの配向は、それぞれが物品からサンプルまで帰属する(imputed)MD方向及びCD方向が保たれて、切断された後もその配向を維持するように維持されるべきである。直径25mmの脚部に装着され、689Pa(0.1PSI)の封圧を加えるデジタルキャリパー(例えば、Ono Sokki GS−503又は等価物)を用いて、各検体のキャリパーを測定する。脚部をサンプル上に置いて5秒後にキャリパー(mm)を読み取り、0.01mm単位で記録する。
この方法は、バリアカフの伸張後ひずみを、温度及び時間の関数として決定するために使用される。測定は、22℃(72°F)又は32℃(90°F)で行われる。22℃(72°F)における測定は、室温におけるバリアカフの回復を模擬するためのものであり、一方、32℃(90°F)における測定は、皮膚温度近くの弾性部材の回復を測定するためのものである。伸張及び回復の2段階分析が、サンプルに対して実施される。本方法は、動的機械的分析器(Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer)を使用する。本明細書では、フィルムクランプを装着したTA Instruments,Inc.(New Castle,Delaware)から入手可能なTA Instruments DMA 2980(以下、「DMA 2980」)、データ取得のためのThermal Advantage/Thermal Solutionsソフトウェア、及びデータ分析のためのUniversal Analysis 2000ソフトウェアを用いた。多数の他のタイプのDMA装置が存在しており、動的機械的分析の使用は、ポリマー及びコポリマーの特性決定技術の当業者には周知である。
当初パーセントひずみ=%ひずみi=100*((Ls−Lg)/Lg)
式中、Lgは弛緩状態にあるギャザー付き(gathered)伸張性積層体の長さであり、Lsは分析の伸張工程の最後におけるフィルムクランプ間の伸張された積層体の長さである(約30mm)。%ひずみiは、回復法開始時(すなわち、本法の伸張部分の完了後)の伸張性積層体のパーセントひずみである。ゲージ長さ10mmから長さ30mmに伸張されたサンプルでは、200%のパーセントひずみという結果になる。
この方法は、緩慢回復型バリアカフを含む製品の適用中に消費者が経験する力と相関し得る特性、及び適用されると製品がどのようにフィットして作用するかを判定するのに使用される。
(1)保持せずに、50.8cm/分(20インチ/分)の一定クロスヘッド速度で、サンプルを指定の当初パーセントひずみ(すなわち、ひずみi=150%)までひずませる。
(2)保持せずに、7.62cm/分(3インチ/分)の一定クロスヘッド速度で、ひずみを0%ひずみまで低減させる(すなわち、グリップを63.5mm(2.50インチ)の元のゲージ長さに戻す)。
(3)保持せずに、50.8cm/分(20インチ/分)の一定クロスヘッド速度で、サンプルをひずみiまでひずませる。
(4)一定クロスヘッド速度7.62cm/分(3インチ/分)で、60%ひずみまでひずみを低減させる。
(5)サンプルを60%ひずみで5分間保持する。
(6)一定クロスヘッド速度7.62cm/分(3インチ/分)で、0%ひずみにする。
Claims (9)
- 使い捨て吸収性物品(10)であって、長手方向軸線(80)と、前記長手方向軸線に対して垂直の横方向軸線(90)と、を有し、前記使い捨て吸収性物品は、
シャーシ(20)であって、前記長手方向軸線に対して概ね平行に延在する第1及び第2の長手方向側縁部(22、24)と、前記シャーシの両端部で前記第1及び第2の長手方向側縁部に接合する一対の端縁部(26、28)と、を有し、前記シャーシは、トップシート(203)と、バックシート(207)と、前記トップシートと前記バックシートとの間に配設された吸収性コア(205)と、を更に備える、シャーシ(20)と、
前記シャーシの衣類に面する表面(20B)上に配設された固定用接着剤(211)と、
前記第1の長手方向側縁部に沿って延在する第1のカフ(230A)と、
前記第2の長手方向縁部に沿って延在する第2のカフ(230B)と、を更に備え、前記物品は、0.2ニュートン〜1.6ニュートン(20グラム重量〜160グラム重量)の平均横方向ピーク荷重と、20〜380のたわみ率と、0.0mm〜3.0mmの平均パッド巻きと、を有することを特徴とする、使い捨て吸収性物品(10)。 - 前記横方向ピーク負荷は、1.5ニュートン(150グラム重量)未満、好ましくは1.2ニュートン(120グラム重量)未満、又はより好ましくは1.1ニュートン(115グラム重量)未満であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の使い捨て吸収性物品。
- 前記たわみ率が、350未満、好ましくは300未満、より好ましくは250未満、より好ましくは240未満、又はより好ましくは220未満であることを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の使い捨て吸収性物品。
- 前記平均パッド巻きは、0.5mm〜2.5mm、又は好ましくは1.0mm〜2.0mmであることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の使い捨て吸収性物品。
- 前記第1のカフ及び前記第2のカフは、前記トップシート及び前記バックシートの一部分を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の使い捨て吸収性物品。
- 前記第1のカフは第1のカバーを含み、前記第2のカフは第2のカバーを含み、前記第1のカバー及び第2のカバーは、前記吸収性物品の前記シャーシから分離していることを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の使い捨て吸収性物品。
- 前記第1のカバー及び前記第2のカバーは、前記トップシートに取り付けられていることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の使い捨て吸収性物品。
- 前記平均横方向ピーク荷重は30〜115である、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の使い捨て吸収性物品。
- 前記たわみ率は、40〜220、又は好ましくは50〜200であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の使い捨て吸収性物品。
