Abstract
Description
Arista(商標)送達装置として商業的に入手可能である比較用装置は、C.R.Bard,Inc.の子会社であるDavol Inc.から入手可能である。比較用装置には、精製植物でんぷん由来の吸収可能な植物由来の外科用止血粉末が予め3g充填されている。商業的に入手可能な比較用装置、又は当該装置の粉末充填物には変更を加えない。試験で使用した比較用装置を図24に概略的に示す。比較用装置17は、リザーバ20上に装着された、把持部25を有するベローズ30を備えている。リザーバ20内の粉末区画22には止血粉末が予め充填されている。装置13は、カニューレ出口95を有する管状圧出カニューレ90を有した。
本発明の装置の試験で使用した止血粉末は、粉砕及びローラー圧縮によって酸化再生セルロースから製造された。簡潔に言うと、SURGICEL(商標)ORC布に粉砕及びローラー圧縮を施した。得られる粉末の標的サイズは75μm〜300μmであった。
(1) 粉末を圧出するための装置であって、
a)細長い中空リザーバであって、前記リザーバに取り付けられた手動式エアポンプと、前記リザーバの遠位端の圧出ポートと、を有する、細長い中空リザーバと、
b)前記リザーバ内の前記エアポンプと前記圧出ポートとの間に摺動自在に配設された多孔質フィルタと、
c)前記リザーバ内の前記エアポンプと前記フィルタとの間に配設されたバネと、を備え、
前記粉末が、前記リザーバ内の前記フィルタと前記圧出ポートとの間に配設され、前記ポンプが、前記多孔質フィルタを介しかつ前記粉末を介して前記圧出ポートと流体連通している、装置。
(2) 前記手動式エアポンプがベローズを含む、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(3) 前記フィルタは、前記粉末が前記フィルタを通過するのを実質的に防止するサイズを有する互いにつながった細孔又はチャネルを含む、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(4) 前記多孔質フィルタが、前記リザーバ内の前記フィルタと前記手動式エアポンプとの間に摺動自在に配設されたプランジャに取り付けられており、中空圧出カニューレが前記圧出ポートに取り付けられ、かつ前記装置から遠位に延在し、前記圧出カニューレが前記ポンプと流体連通している、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(5) 前記プランジャが、前記プランジャから前記近位端に向かって延在する細長いステムを有し、前記バネが少なくとも部分的に前記ステム上に支持されている、実施態様4に記載の装置。
i)前記粉末用の蛇行チャネルであって、前記チャネルは、前記リザーバに通じる入口オリフィスと、前記圧出カニューレに通じる出口開口部と、を有する、蛇行チャネルを備える、実施態様4に記載の装置。
(7) 前記リザーバ内の遮断部材を更に備え、前記粉末トラップが、前記リザーバの周囲を第1の位置から第2の位置まで回転可能であり、前記第1の位置において、前記入口オリフィスが前記遮断部材によって遮断され、前記第2の位置において、前記入口オリフィスが前記遮断部材によって遮断されない、実施態様6に記載の装置。
(8) 前記ポンプが、前記リザーバ、前記プランジャ、前記多孔質フィルタ、前記粉末、前記入口オリフィス、前記蛇行チャネル、及び前記出口開口部を介して、前記圧出カニューレと流体連通している、実施態様6に記載の装置。
(9) 前記プランジャと前記リザーバの壁との間に間隙を更に備える、実施態様6に記載の装置。
(10) 前記プランジャが、前記エアポンプと前記多孔質フィルタとの間の前記流体連通を確立する少なくとも1つの開口を有する、実施態様6に記載の装置。
(12) 前記バネが、前記エアポンプを圧縮することによって、前記遠位端に向けて圧縮される、実施態様6に記載の装置。
(13) 前記バネが前記遠位端に向かうことによって駆動されて、前記多孔質フィルタが前記リザーバ内で前進する、実施態様6に記載の装置。
(14) 前記粉末が止血粉末である、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(15) 前記粉末がORC粉末である、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(17) 前記粉末送達の開始時にそれぞれ個別の圧出によって前記装置から圧出される前記粉末の量が、前記粉末送達の終了時にそれぞれ個別の圧出によって前記装置から圧出される前記粉末の量と、10%以下だけ異なる、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(18) 前記バネが、弾性的に圧縮可能な金属らせん体、弾性的に圧縮可能なポリマーらせん体、又は弾性的に圧縮可能な発泡体を含む、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(19) 止血粉末を圧出する方法であって、
a)実施態様1に記載の装置の前記圧出ポートを標的に向けて方向付ける工程と、
b)前記エアポンプを圧縮することによって加圧空気を前記リザーバ内に供給し、同時に前記バネを圧縮し、それによって前記フィルタに圧力を加える工程と、
c)前記加圧空気を、前記多孔質フィルタを通して前記粉末まで到達させ、前記粉末の一部と共に前記圧出ポートから前記装置の外に出す工程と、
d)同時に、前記バネからの圧力を受けて前記フィルタを前記遠位端に向けて前進させて、前記粉末を前記フィルタの下で圧縮した状態に維持する工程と、
e)前記エアポンプを解放して、周囲空気が前記エアポンプを再充填できるようにする工程と、
f)任意追加的に、工程(b)〜工程(e)を繰り返す工程と、を含む、方法。
Claims (18)
- 粉末を圧出するための装置であって、
a)細長い中空リザーバであって、前記リザーバに取り付けられた手動式エアポンプと、前記リザーバの遠位端の圧出ポートと、を有する、細長い中空リザーバと、
b)前記リザーバ内の前記エアポンプと前記圧出ポートとの間に摺動自在に配設された多孔質フィルタと、
c)前記リザーバ内の前記エアポンプと前記フィルタとの間に配設されたバネと、を備え、
前記粉末が、前記リザーバ内の前記フィルタと前記圧出ポートとの間に配設され、前記ポンプが、前記多孔質フィルタを介しかつ前記粉末を介して前記圧出ポートと流体連通している、装置。 - 前記手動式エアポンプがベローズを含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記フィルタは、前記粉末が前記フィルタを通過するのを実質的に防止するサイズを有する互いにつながった細孔又はチャネルを含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記多孔質フィルタが、前記リザーバ内の前記フィルタと前記手動式エアポンプとの間に摺動自在に配設されたプランジャに取り付けられており、中空圧出カニューレが前記圧出ポートに取り付けられ、かつ前記装置から遠位に延在し、前記圧出カニューレが前記ポンプと流体連通している、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記プランジャが、前記プランジャから前記近位端に向かって延在する細長いステムを有し、前記バネが少なくとも部分的に前記ステム上に支持されている、請求項4に記載の装置。
- a)前記圧出ポートと前記圧出カニューレとの間に位置付けられた粉末トラップを更に備え、前記粉末トラップは、
i)前記粉末用の蛇行チャネルであって、前記チャネルは、前記リザーバに通じる入口オリフィスと、前記圧出カニューレに通じる出口開口部と、を有する、蛇行チャネルを備える、請求項4に記載の装置。 - 前記リザーバ内の遮断部材を更に備え、前記粉末トラップが、前記リザーバの周囲を第1の位置から第2の位置まで回転可能であり、前記第1の位置において、前記入口オリフィスが前記遮断部材によって遮断され、前記第2の位置において、前記入口オリフィスが前記遮断部材によって遮断されない、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記ポンプが、前記リザーバ、前記プランジャ、前記多孔質フィルタ、前記粉末、前記入口オリフィス、前記蛇行チャネル、及び前記出口開口部を介して、前記圧出カニューレと流体連通している、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記プランジャと前記リザーバの壁との間に間隙を更に備える、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記プランジャが、前記エアポンプと前記多孔質フィルタとの間の前記流体連通を確立する少なくとも1つの開口を有する、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記バネが、前記粉末の圧出前に非圧縮状態である、請求項6に記載の装置。

- 前記粉末送達の開始時にそれぞれ個別の圧出によって前記装置から圧出される前記粉末の量が、前記粉末送達の終了時にそれぞれ個別の圧出によって前記装置から圧出される前記粉末の量と、10%以下だけ異なる、請求項1に記載の装置。
