Abstract
Description

1.技術分野
この発明は、一般的に細長部材を保護するためのスリーブに関する。より具体的には、その中に細長部材を受けるための不織音響保護スリーブおよびそれらの構築方法に関する。
自動車、飛行機、航空宇宙機などの車両における管状スリーブに担持されるワイヤおよびワイヤハーネスは、車両の使用中に望ましくない騒音を生み出す可能性があることが知られる。騒音は、通常、隣接部品に対して振動するワイヤまたはハーネスから生じる。振動は車両の振動する部品に起因し、自動車の場合では地面上の自動車の動きに起因する。このような場合には、騒音発生の可能性を低減するために、堅固なマスキングテープでワイヤまたはワイヤハーネスを螺旋状に巻くことが通例である。残念ながら、テープをつけることは多大な労力を要し、したがって、コストがかかる。加えて、テープの外観は、特にテープが摩耗するにつれて見映えが悪くなり得る。さらに、使用中に、テープは曲がったワイヤに容易に近付く際に困難を与える可能性がある。
本発明の一つの観点は、可撓性で弾力性のある不織音響スリーブを提供する。不織音響スリーブは、細長部材を経路決めし、細長部材を保護し、騒音発生が細長部材の振動または別種の動きが原因で起こることを抑制するためのものである。スリーブは、長手方向に延在する接合された継ぎ目に沿って一方に接合される対向する側部を備える細長い不織布層を有する。これにより、スリーブを通る細長部材の受容のための大きさにされた周方向に取り囲まれた内部空洞が形成される。不織布層の繊維材料上に細長部材の一部を引っかけることなく、または他の方法で細長部材を捕捉することなく、空洞を通って細長部材を配置することを容易にするために、スリーブは不織布層の内面と接合される概ね滑らかな内部スクリム層をさらに備え、滑らかな内部スクリム層は空洞を画定する周方向に連続する滑らかな内面を形成する。

図面をより詳細に参照すると、図1は、一つの本発明の現在好ましい実施形態により構築された不織スリーブ10を示す。スリーブ10は、外部不織布層14と内部スクリム層16との積層体から構築される周方向に連続する壁12を有する。積層壁12は、スリーブ10の両端部22,24の間の中心長手方向軸20に沿って延在する周方向に閉じ込められた内部空洞18を規定するように形成される。空洞18は、構築の間、外部不織布層14が好適な熱源(H、図4)への曝露を介してヒートセットされる結果として、軸20に対して横断して取られる断面において概ね円形の形状を有するように維持される、または実質的に維持される。したがって、たとえば、チューブ、ワイヤまたはワイヤーハーネス26などの細長部材26は、概ね円形の空洞18を通って容易に配置されることができる。たとえば、外部不織壁14の繊維材料上の電気コネクタなどの、細長部材26の一部を引っかくことなくまたは他の方法で捕捉することなく、細長部材26を空洞18を通して配置することをさらに容易にするために、空洞18は、不織壁14の表面仕上げのものと比べて、比較的平滑な、内部スクリム層16の周方向に連続する内面28によって直接画定される。
Claims (11)
- 細長部材を経路決めして保護し、細長部材に音響障壁を提供するための不織スリーブであって、
両端部間で長手方向軸に沿って延在する周方向に取り囲まれた内部空洞を形成するための接合された継ぎ目に沿って、互いに接合される長手方向に延在する両側部を有する管状壁を備え、
前記管状壁は外部不織布層と内部スクリム層とを有し、前記内部スクリム層は前記外部不織布層の内面に接合され、前記接合された継ぎ目は前記内部スクリム層の溶融された材料を含む、不織スリーブ。 - 前記外部不織布層および前記内部スクリム層は周方向に連続する、請求項1に記載の不織スリーブ。
- 前記接合された継ぎ目は、前記外部不織布層からの材料と、溶融されて合体された前記スクリム層からの材料とを含む、請求項2に記載の不織スリーブ。
- 前記管状壁は可撓性があり弾力性がある、請求項2に記載の不織スリーブ。
- 前記外部不織布層はヒートセット材料を含む、請求項2に記載の不織スリーブ。
- 細長部材を経路決めして保護するために、および前記細長部材からの騒音発生を抑制するために使用される不織スリーブを構築する方法であって、
外部不織布層および内部スクリム層の積層体から周方向に連続する管状壁を形成するステップと、
前記壁の両側部を互いに接合し、前記スリーブの内部空洞を前記内部スクリム層で画定するステップとを含む、方法。 - 前記外部不織布層の領域と前記内部スクリム層の領域を互いに接合して、前記スリーブの両端部間で長手方向に延在する溶融され、固化され、接合された継ぎ目を形成することをさらに含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記不織布層内で少なくともある繊維材料を溶融することによって前記外部不織布層をヒートセットすることをさらに含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
- マンドレル周りに周方向に連続する管状壁を配置し、マンドレル上にある間に前記周方向に連続する管状壁を加熱することによって、前記ヒートセットを行なうことをさらに含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 超音波溶接作業において接合された継ぎ目を形成することをさらに含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
