Abstract
【解決手段】一対の電極間にEL層を有し、EL層には少なくとも、蛍光発光物質とホスト材料とを含む発光層と、第1の電子輸送材料を含む第1の電子輸送層と、第2の電子輸送材料を含む第2の電子輸送層がこの順に接して設けられ、ホスト材料と第2の電子輸送材料のLUMO準位が、第1の電子輸送材料のLUMO準位よりも高い発光素子を提供する。

Description
図1(A)は本発明の一態様の発光素子を表す図である。本発明の一態様の発光素子は、少なくとも陽極101と、陰極102、EL層103を有している。また、EL層103は少なくとも発光層113と、第1の電子輸送層114−1及び第2の電子輸送層114−2を有している。
これら導電性材料は、真空蒸着法やスパッタリング法などの乾式法、インクジェット法、スピンコート法等を用いて成膜することが可能である。また、ゾル−ゲル法を用いて湿式法で形成しても良いし、金属材料のペーストを用いて湿式法で形成してもよい。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1に記載の有機化合物を含む発光素子を用いた発光装置について説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1に記載の発光素子を照明装置として用いる例を図6を参照しながら説明する。図6(B)は照明装置の上面図、図6(A)は図6(B)におけるe−f断面図である。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1に記載の発光素子をその一部に含む電子機器の例について説明する。実施の形態1に記載の発光素子は寿命が良好であり、信頼性の良好な発光素子である。その結果、本実施の形態に記載の電子機器は、信頼性の良好な発光部を有する電子機器とすることが可能である。
まず、ガラス基板上に、酸化珪素を含むインジウム錫酸化物(ITSO)をスパッタリング法にて成膜し、陽極101を形成した。なお、その膜厚は110nmとし、電極面積は2mm×2mmとした。
比較発光素子1は発光素子1の第1の電子輸送層における2mDBTBPDBq−IIをcgDBCzPAに変えた他は発光素子1と同様に作製した。

Claims (14)
- 陽極と、
陰極と、
前記陽極及び前記陰極の間に挟まれたEL層とを有し、
前記EL層は発光層と、第1の電子輸送層と、第2の電子輸送層とを有し、
前記第1の電子輸送層は、前記発光層と前記第2の電子輸送層の間に設けられ、
前記発光層は前記第1の電子輸送層と接する領域を有し、
前記第2の電子輸送層は前記第1の電子輸送層と接する領域を有し、
前記発光層は、蛍光発光物質とホスト材料とを有し、
前記第1の電子輸送層は第1の材料を有し、
前記第2の電子輸送層は第2の材料を有し、
前記ホスト材料のLUMO準位は前記第1の材料のLUMO準位よりも高く、
前記第2の材料のLUMO準位は前記第1の材料のLUMO準位よりも高く、
前記ホスト材料は、3環以上6環以下の縮合芳香環骨格を含む物質であり、
前記第1の材料は第1の複素芳香環骨格を含む物質であり、
前記第2の材料は第2の複素芳香環骨格を含む物質であり、
前記第1の複素芳香環骨格を含む物質と前記第2の複素芳香環骨格を含む物質は異なる物質である発光素子。 - 請求項1において、前記第1の複素芳香環骨格を有する物質及び第2の複素芳香環骨格を有する物質が、6員環の含窒素複素芳香環骨格を含む物質である発光素子。
- 請求項1または請求項2において、前記第1の複素芳香環骨格を含む物質が、縮合複素芳香環骨格を含む物質である発光素子。
- 請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか一項において、前記第1の複素芳香環骨格を含む物質が、ジアジン骨格又はトリアジン骨格を有する縮合複素芳香環骨格を含む物質である発光素子。
- 請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか一項において、前記第1の複素芳香環骨格を含む物質が、ピラジン骨格又はピリミジン骨格を有する物質である発光素子。
- 請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか一項において、前記第1の複素芳香環骨格を含む物質が、ジベンゾキノキサリン骨格を有する物質である発光素子。
- 請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか一項において、前記ホスト材料がアントラセン骨格を含む物質である発光素子。
- 請求項1乃至請求項7のいずれか一項において、
前記第2の電子輸送層が、前記陰極と接している発光素子。 - 請求項1乃至請求項8のいずれか一項において、
前記EL層は、さらに正孔注入層を有し、
前記正孔注入層は前記陽極と接し、
前記正孔注入層が有機アクセプタ材料を含む発光素子。 - 請求項9において、
前記有機アクセプタ材料が2,3,6,7,10,11−ヘキサシアノ−1,4,5,8,9,12−ヘキサアザトリフェニレンである発光素子。 - 請求項1乃至請求項10のいずれか一項において、
前記蛍光発光物質が青色の発光を呈する発光素子。 - 請求項1乃至請求項11のいずれか一項に記載の発光素子と、
トランジスタ、または、基板と、
を有する発光装置。 - 請求項12に記載の発光装置と、
センサ、操作ボタン、スピーカ、または、マイクと、
を有する電子機器。 - 請求項12に記載の発光装置と、
