Abstract
Description
本出願は、米国仮特許出願第61/738,455号(2012年12月18日出願)の米国特許法第119条(e)による優先権を主張する。その開示は参照によって本明細書中に組み込まれる。
本発明の第1の態様において、ポリマーフィルムを含む密閉物であって、前記ポリマーフィルムがエチレンと極性モノマーとの1つ又はそれ以上のコポリマーを含み、かつ、当該密閉物の酸素透過率が8,000cm3/時間〜16,000cm3/時間である密閉物が提供される。
式中、R1、R2、R3及びR4のそれぞれが独立して、H、及び、置換された炭化水素基又は非置換の炭化水素基からなる群から選択される。独立して、いずれか1つのR基において、水素以外の原子の総数が50以下である。
0=スポットなし;1=数個のスポット;2=適度なスポット;3=甚だしいスポット
評価が0〜1であるクラスターが商品的に、消費者に望ましい。評価が2〜3であるクラスターは消費者に受け入れられない。下記の結果では、所与の処理群におけるクラスターのすべてについての平均評価が報告される。
i)m−PE=ELITE(商標)5400G(これは、The Dow Chemical Companyから入手可能な強化型ポリエチレン樹脂(メタロセンポリエチレン)である)
ii)EVA1=ELVAX(商標)3130樹脂(DuPont Co.)(これは、EVAの重量に基づいて重量比で12%のビニルアセタートを有するエチレン/ビニルアセタート樹脂である)
iii)EVA2=Westlake EB502AA(これは、EVAの重量に基づいて重量比で12.5%のビニルアセタートを有するエチレン−ビニルアセタートコポリマー樹脂であり、Westlake Chemicalから入手可能である)
iv)101797=Ampacetから入手可能なマスターバッチで、(101797の重量に基づく重量比で)5%のスリップ助剤のステアルアミドをLDPE原樹脂において含有するマスターバッチ
v)10063=Ampacetから同様に入手可能なマスターバッチで、(10063の重量に基づく重量比で)20%の珪藻土を8MI LDPE原樹脂において含有するマスターバッチ
ほんの小さな違いが組成物「S」と組成物「B2」との間には固有気体透過特性において存在することが意図される。さらに、異なる量の貫通孔によって引き起こされる気体透過における違いは、組成における変化によって引き起こされる何らかの違いよりもはるかに大きかったことが意図される。すなわち、下記において報告される実験では、様々なバッグの成績は、バッグにおける貫通孔の数に起因するものであり、「S」バッグと「B2」バッグとの間での組成における違いに何ら起因するものではないことが意図される。
熟成サイクルを下記のように行った:すべての果実を、十分に詰め込まれ、かつ、漏れ試験に適格である業務用の部屋において熟させた。果実を、上記のように箱に入れたまま、下記のように5日の熟成サイクルで熟させた。示される温度は果肉温度を示す;必要ならば、バナナにおいて起こっているかもしれないどのような呼吸にもかかわらず、果肉温度が所望の温度で留まるようにサーモスタットを下げた。
26日目:17.8℃(64oF)、通常の空気において
27日目:17.8℃(64oF)、24時間にわたる200ppmでのエチレン
28日目:17.8℃(64oF)、部屋を30分間換気し、その後、再び封止する
29日目:17.8℃(58oF)
30日目:14.4℃(58oF)
31日目:14.4℃(58oF)
5mm、5.5mm、6mm及び6.5mmの間隔を有するバッグのみが、許容できる均一性、外観及び味覚を有した。
2mm及び3mmの間隔を有するバッグは、許容できないシュガースポットを示した。他のものはすべてが許容可能であった。2mmの間隔を有するバッグは、大きすぎる色評価を有した。貫通孔が全くないバッグと、BV密封バッグとは、低すぎる色評価を有した。良好な色スケールを有し、かつ、上部層と下部層との間での色差がないほかならないバッグが、5mm、5.5mm、6mm及び6.5mmの間隔を有するバッグであった。4mm〜11mmの間隔を有するバッグは、許容できる堅さを有した。しかし、それら以外のバッグは、大きすぎるか、又は低すぎるかのどちらかであった堅さを有した。
Claims (9)
- ポリマーフィルムを含む密閉物であって、前記ポリマーフィルムがエチレンと極性モノマーとの1つ又はそれ以上のコポリマーを含み、当該密閉物の体積が20リットル以上であり、かつ、当該密閉物の酸素透過率が8,000cm3/時間〜16,000cm3/時間である密閉物。
- 前記ポリマーフィルムがさらに、1つ又はそれ以上のオレフィンポリマーを含む、請求項1に記載の密閉物。
- 前記極性モノマーがビニルアセタートである、請求項1に記載の密閉物。
- 前記極性モノマーの重合ユニットの量が前記ポリマーフィルムの重量に基づいて0.05重量%〜18重量%である、請求項1に記載の密閉物。
- 前記ポリマーフィルムが単層フィルムである、請求項1に記載の密閉物。
- (a)青いバナナを収穫すること;
(b)その後、前記青いバナナを請求項1に記載される密閉物の中に置くこと;
(c)その後、前記密閉物を20℃以下で1週間以上にわたって貯蔵すること;
(d)その後、前記バナナを熟させること、又は、前記バナナが熟することを可能にすること
を含む、バナナを取り扱う方法。 - 前項工程(b)の継続期間が2週間以上である、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記工程(d)が、前記密閉物を、エチレンを含有する空気にさらすことを含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記工程(d)に続いて、前記密閉物を、1つ又はそれ以上のシクロプロペン化合物を含有する空気にさらす工程(e)をさらに含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
