Claims (29)
- 対象における細菌感染の有無を決定するための方法であって:
細菌の代謝の際に13CO2を生産する13C−同位体で標識された化合物の有効量を対象に投与すること;
対象からの呼気の少なくとも1つの試料を収集すること;
試料を検出装置の試料チャンバに導くこと;
検出装置のレーザ光源を、2054.37および2052.42;2054.96および2051.67;または2760.53および2760.08ナノメートルの波長対の1または2以上を放出するように作動すること;
そのように作動されたレーザ光を、試料チャンバ内の試料を通過するように方向づけ、かかる波長について検出器に当てること;および
試料内に存在する13CO2の12CO2に対する同位体比率が確認すること
を含む、前記方法。 - 前記決定を行うために、試料の同位体比率を、対照試料の同位体比率と比較することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
