Claims (21)
- 複数の入力平面光ビームを複数の指向性光ビームへと散乱させる複数の指向性画素を有する指向性バックプレーンであって、各指向性光ビームは、前記複数の指向性画素の1つの指向性画素の特性により制御された方向及び角拡散を有する、指向性バックプレーンと、
前記複数の指向性光ビームを変調する複数の変調器を有する変調層と、
を備える指向性バックライト。 - 前記指向性バックプレーンの上に位置するスペーサ層を更に備える、請求項1に記載の指向性バックライト。
- 前記変調層は、前記スペーサ層の上に位置する、請求項2に記載の指向性バックライト。
- 前記指向性バックプレーンは、実質的に平面状である、請求項1に記載の指向性バックライト。
- 前記複数の指向性画素の各指向性画素は、複数の実質的に平行な溝を有するパターニングされた複数の回折格子を備える、請求項1に記載の指向性バックライト。
- 1つの指向性画素の前記特性は、回折格子の長さ、回折格子の幅、回折格子の配向、回折格子のピッチ、及びデューティサイクルを含む、請求項5に記載の指向性バックライト。
- 1つの指向性画素の前記ピッチ及び配向は、前記1つの指向性画素により散乱される指向性光ビームの前記方向を制御する、請求項6に記載の指向性バックライト。
- 1つの指向性画素の前記長さ及び幅は、前記1つの指向性画素により散乱される指向性光ビームの前記角拡散を制御する、請求項6に記載の指向性バックライト。

- 変調層を有する指向性バックライトを用いて3D画像を生成する方法であって、
複数の指向性画素であって、各指向性画素は、実質的に平行な複数の溝を有するパターニングされた回折格子を含む、複数の指向性画素の複数の特性を規定し、
指向性バックプレーンであって、前記指向性バックプレーンに設けられた前記複数の指向性画素を有する指向性バックプレーンを作製し、
前記指向性バックプレーンの上に、複数の変調器を有する変調層を付加し、
前記指向性バックプレーンに複数の入力平面光ビームを照射し、前記複数の入力平面光ビームは、前記複数の指向性画素により複数の指向性光ビームへと散乱され、
前記複数の変調器を用いて前記複数の指向性光ビームを変調して、3D画像の複数の視界を生成する、
ことを含む方法。 - 各指向性光ビームは、1つの指向性画素の前記特性により制御される、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 1つの指向性画素の前記特性は、回折格子の長さ、回折格子の幅、回折格子の配向、回折格子のピッチ、及びデューティサイクルを含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の変調器からの単一の変調器は、単一の指向性画素からの指向性光ビームを変調する、請求項16に記載の方法。
