Abstract
Description
コア層と2つの表皮層を含むバリヤフィルムであって、該コア層は実質的に
a)60〜92重量%の核(nucleated)高密度ポリエチレン樹脂、及び
b)40〜8重量%の高圧、低密度ポリエチレン
の混合物からなる、上記バリヤフィルムを提供する。
1)構造の素材(例えば、表皮層が内部層に使用される素材よりも収縮する素材から出来ている場合など)、及び、
2)製造条件(例えば、新たに加工されたフィルムがそのフィルムの一側面でのみ冷却される(インフレーションフィルムの内側のような)場合、その側面の収縮率はインフレーションフィルムの気泡の「外側」における収縮率とは異なることができる。
本発明のフィルムに使用するために好適なHDPEは、ASTM D1505に定義されるように、0.950g/立方センチメートル(g/cc)から約0.970g/ccの密度を有する。好ましいHDPEもまた、0.955g/ccより大きい密度を有し、最も好ましいHDPEは0.958g/ccより大きい密度を有するエチレンの単独重合体である。好ましいHDPEはさらに0.3〜20g/10分、特に0.5〜10g/10分のメルトインデックス(I2)(190°C、2.16kgの負荷でASTM D1238により計測され、「I2」として通常参照される)を有する。
核形成剤の用語は、ここでは、核ポリオレフィン組成物の調製の分野の当業者にとってその通常の意味で伝達する意味である。すなわち、ポリマー融解物を冷却するときのポリマーの結晶化挙動を変化させる添加物である。
本発明のフィルムのコア層は、a)「核HDPE」とb)高圧、低密度ポリエチレン(若しくは「LDPE」)の混合物から調製される。
三層フィルム構造はA−B−C層として記載することができる。ここで、内部層B(「コア」層)は二つの外部「表皮」層A及びCの間に挟まれる。多くの多層フィルムで、表皮層の一つ(若しくは両方)は良好な封止強度を与え、かつ典型的には密封材層と呼ばれる樹脂から作られる。
本発明のフィルムの調製に用いられるポリマーは、その他の従来型の添加物を含んでもよい。特に、(1)一次酸化防止剤(ビタミンEを含むヒンダードフェノールなど)、(2)二次酸化防止剤(特にホスファイト及びホスホナイト)、及び(3)加工助剤(特にフッ素エラストマ、及び/又はポリエチレングリコール加工助剤)を含んでもよい。
インフレーションフィルム工程
押し出し成形−インフレーションフィルム工程は、多層プラスチックフィルムの調製のためのよく知られた工程である。この工程は融解したプラスチックを加熱、融解及び搬送し、多数の環状口金を通してそれら押し進める多くの押出成形機に採用されている。典型的な押出温度は330〜500°Fであり、特に、350〜460°Fである。
フィルムはブランプトンエンジニアリング社により製造された三層共押出フィルムラインで製造した。2ミルの合計厚を有する三層フィルムを2/1のブローアップ比(BUR)を使用して調製した。
