Description
本出願は、2011年5月18日出願の「OPTICAL FIBER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM」という名称の米国特許出願第13/110,726号の優先権を主張するものである。米国特許出願第13/110,726号の内容は参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。本出願はまた、2010年6月3日出願の「DEPLOYABLE OPTICAL FIBER CARTRIDGE」という名称の米国特許出願第12/793,589号、および2010年6月8日出願の「OCEAN DEPLOYABLE BIODEGRADABLE OPTICAL FIBER CABLE」という名称の米国特許出願第12/795,971号を含み、それらの内容が参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
Claims (20)
- 光ファイバを格納するスプールと、
前記スプールを回転させるモータと、
水中で装置の移動速度を検出する速度トランスデューサと、
検出された水中での装置の移動速度以上の速度で前記スプールから前記光ファイバを外すことを制御するために前記モータに連結された制御器とを含む、装置。 - 前記スプール、前記モータ、前記速度トランスデューサおよび前記制御器に連結された遠隔作業機(ROV)をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記ROVは翼付き潜水装置である、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記スプールから外される前記光ファイバに張力を加える放出体をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記放出体は、前記光ファイバの一部を取り囲む管を通して水を送る水ポンプを含む、請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記光ファイバの一端に取り付けられた回転結合装置をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記スプールは、
複数の流水孔を有する円筒部と、
前記円筒部の一端に連結された第1フランジと、
前記円筒部の他端に連結された第2フランジと、
前記円筒部を取り囲み、開放体積を有する圧縮性筒体とを含む、請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記光ファイバは生分解性を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 光ファイバを格納するスプールと、
前記スプールを回転させるモータと、
装置速度信号を受信するための、前記光ファイバに連結された受信機と、
前記装置速度信号以上の速度で前記スプールから前記光ファイバを外すことを制御するための、モータに連結された制御器とを含む、装置。 - 前記スプール、前記モータ、前記速度トランスデューサおよび前記制御器に連結された遠隔作業機(ROV)をさらに含む、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記ROVは翼付き潜水装置である、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記スプールから外される前記光ファイバに張力を加える放出体をさらに含む、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記放出体は、前記光ファイバの一部を取り囲む管を通して水を送る水ポンプを含む、請求項10に記載の装置。

前記ROVの移動速度以上の速度で光ファイバを格納するスプールを前記モータによって回転させるステップと、
前記スプールと前記ROVとから前記光ファイバを外すステップとを含む、方法。 - 管を通して前記光ファイバを配置するステップと、
前記ROVの移動速度より速い速度で前記管を通して水を汲み出すステップとをさらに含む、請求項15に記載の方法。 - 前記スプールと前記管との間の、前記光ファイバの一部に対する引張力を維持するステップをさらに含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記光ファイバの一部に対する前記引張力は56.7g(2オンス)未満である、請求項17に記載の方法。
