Claims (10)
- 空間モードの第1のサブセットにアドレスするための第1の光モード結合(OMC)デバイスであって、前記第1のサブセットが第1の光リンクの空間モードのサブセットである、第1のOMCデバイスと、
空間モードの第2のサブセットにアドレスするための第2のOMCデバイスであって、前記第2のサブセットが第2の光リンクの空間モードのサブセットである、第2のOMCデバイスと、
第1のOMCデバイスと第2のOMCデバイスの間に配置されており、第1のOMCデバイスを介して第1のサブセットの異なる空間モードから受信した光を混合し、かつ、混合光を第2のサブセットの異なる空間モードに結合するために、得られた混合光を第2のOMCデバイスに送るように構成された光混合サブシステムと
を備える、光学システム。 - 光学システムが、第1の光リンクから受信した光を、第1のOMCデバイス、次いで相互に連結した光混合器のアレイ、次いで第2のOMCデバイスを経て第2の光リンク内に導けるようにする形で、光混合サブシステムが、前記第1のOMCデバイスと前記第2のOMCデバイスの間に配置される相互に連結した光混合器の前記アレイを備える、請求項1に記載の光学システム。
- 光混合サブシステムに操作可能に結合され、前記光混合サブシステムにおける光の混合を制御するように構成された制御装置をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の光学システム。
- 第1のOMCデバイスが、第1のサブセットを変更するように構成可能であり、
第2のOMCデバイスが、第2のサブセットを変更するように構成可能である、請求項1に記載の光学システム。 - 第1のOMCデバイスが、第2のOMCデバイスとは異なる数の空間モードにアドレスするように構成可能である、請求項1に記載の光学システム。
- 第1の光リンクを介して第1のOMCデバイスに光学的に結合された光送信機と、
第2の光リンクを介して第2のOMCデバイスに光学的に結合された光受信機とをさらに備え、
第1および第2の光リンクのそれぞれが、それぞれのマルチモードファイバ、マルチコアファイバ、または光ファイバケーブルを含み、かつ
第1および第2のOMCデバイスのそれぞれが、それぞれのマルチモードファイバ、マルチコアファイバ、または光ファイバケーブルの空間モードのサブセットにアドレスするように構成された、請求項1に記載の光学システム。 - 第1の光リンクと第2の光リンクの間に配置されるように構成された光モード混合器であって、第1の光リンクの異なる空間モードに対応する光を混合し、得られた混合光を第2の光リンクの異なる空間モードに結合するように構成された光モード混合器と、
データを搬送する変調された光信号の光モード混合器内の伝送中に、光モード混合器にその光混合特性を変化させるように構成された制御装置であって、前記変調された光信号が、前記第1の光リンクから、前記光モード混合器を介して前記第2の光リンクに導かれる、制御装置と
を備える、光学システム。 - 光モード混合器が、
空間モードの第1のサブセットにアドレスするように構成可能な第1の光モード結合(OMC)デバイスであって、前記第1のサブセットが第1の光リンクの空間モードのサブセットである、第1のOMCデバイスと、
空間モードの第2のサブセットにアドレスするように構成可能な第2のOMCデバイスであって、前記第2のサブセットが第2の光リンクの空間モードのサブセットである、第2のOMCデバイスと、
第1のOMCデバイスと第2のOMCデバイスの間に配置されており、第1のOMCデバイスを介して第1のサブセットの異なる空間モードから受信した光を混合し、かつ、混合光を第2のサブセットの異なる空間モードに結合するために、得られた混合光を第2のOMCデバイスに送るように構成された光混合サブシステムとを備え、
光学システムが、第1の光リンクから受信した光を、第1のOMCデバイス、次いで相互に連結した光混合器のアレイ、次いで第2のOMCデバイスを経て第2の光リンク内に導けるようにする形で、光混合サブシステムが、前記第1のOMCデバイスと前記第2のOMCデバイスの間に配置される相互に連結した光混合器のアレイを備える、請求項7に記載の光学システム。 - 第1の光リンクを介して第1のOMCデバイスに光学的に結合された光送信機と、
第2の光リンクを介して第2のOMCデバイスに光学的に結合された光受信機と、
をさらに備える、請求項7に記載の光学システム。 - 光モード混合器が、
平らでない表面を有する第1のプレートと、
平らでない表面を有する第2のプレートと、
第1と第2のプレートのそれぞれの平らでない表面に挟まれた光ファイバの一部であって、第1と第2の光リンクの間で結合されるように構成された光ファイバの一部と、
機械的な力を第1および第2の光学プレートに加えて、平らでない表面を光ファイバの前記部分に対して押し付けるように構成されたアクチュエータとを備え、
制御装置が、アクチュエータに操作可能に結合され、機械的な力の大きさを変更するように構成された、請求項7に記載の光学システム。
