Abstract
Description
本発明は、有機EL(Electro Luminescence)装置に関するものである。 The present invention relates to an organic EL (Electro Luminescence) device.
In recent years, organic EL devices have attracted attention as a lighting device that can replace incandescent lamps and fluorescent lamps, and many studies have been made.
Here, the organic EL device is obtained by laminating an organic EL element on a base material such as a glass substrate or a transparent resin film.
In addition, the organic EL element has two or more light-transmitting electrodes facing each other, and a light emitting layer made of an organic compound is laminated between the electrodes. The organic EL device emits light by the energy of recombination of electrically excited electrons and holes.
Since the organic EL device is a self-luminous device, a high-contrast image can be obtained when used as a display material. In addition, light of various wavelengths can be emitted by appropriately selecting the material of the light emitting layer. Further, since the thickness is extremely thin compared to incandescent lamps and fluorescent lamps, and the light is emitted in a planar shape, there are few restrictions on the installation location.
By the way, there is
In the organic EL panel of
However, when ACF is used as the adhesive, the cost is higher than that of other bonding means, and the contact resistance with the electrode is increased. In addition, in order to emit light from the organic EL panel (organic EL device), it is necessary to apply a considerably high voltage. And when combining with ACF and FPC, it was necessary to design the shape of FPC each time according to the size of the organic EL panel. In addition, there is a limit to the current that can be passed, and there is a disadvantage that it is unsuitable when a large capacity current is passed.
Further, in order to make use of the feature of the organic EL device called surface emission, it is preferable to secure a large area of the light emitting region that actually emits light as much as possible. In the case where the light emitting region and the power feeding region contributing to power feeding to the light emitting region are formed on the same substrate, the area of the power feeding region on the substrate decreases as the area of the light emitting region on the substrate increases. . Therefore, when using an ACF that adheres in a planar shape, it is necessary to ensure a sufficient adhesion area, and there is a problem in that it cannot be used if the adhesion area of the power feeding region falls below a predetermined area.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide an organic EL device that can reliably supply power even when the power supply region is narrow.
The invention according to
Here, the “short side” represents the smallest side among the sides of the polygon. In the case of a regular polygon, it represents the length of one side.
According to the structure of this invention, the said electric power feeding area | region is the circumference | surroundings of the light emission area | region, and is formed in the range below 1/10 of the short side or short axis of a base material from a side or a circumference | surroundings. That is, the width of the power feeding area is a smaller area than the light emitting area. The organic EL device of the present invention is bonded by so-called wire bonding. Since the bonding wire and the power feeding region can be bonded in a dot shape, even such a narrow power feeding region can be connected.
According to the configuration of the present invention, the power supply member and the power supply region are connected by at least three bonding wires. That is, since a plurality of bonding wires are used and the load applied to each bonding wire at the time of power feeding can be dispersed, the bonding wires are not easily overloaded and are not easily disconnected.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, the power supply member and the first electrode layer power supply region electrically connected to the first electrode layer of the laminate in the light emitting region in the power supply region are orthogonal to each other. The organic EL device according to
According to the structure of this invention, it connects by the said bonding wire from at least two directions orthogonal. For example, a rectangular organic EL device has a first electrode layer power supply region extending in two vertical and horizontal directions. Therefore, it is possible to secure a sufficient power supply area, and the width of the power supply region can be reduced. Therefore, even when the width of the power supply region is narrow, power can be reliably supplied.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, the power feeding region and the light emitting region are separated by a groove formed in parallel with at least one side or circumference of the substrate, and the bonding wire straddles the groove. The organic EL device according to
According to the present invention, since the bonding wire is bonded to the power supply member across the groove, the light emitting region can be expanded to the vicinity of the side or circumference of the base material, and the non-light emitting portion is Can be reduced.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, the power feeding region has a laminated structure in which a metal layer is directly laminated on at least one of the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer, and the bonding wire is formed on the metal layer.

The first inorganic sealing layer is a layer formed by chemical vapor deposition, and more specifically, a layer formed by plasma CVD using silane gas, ammonia gas, or the like as a raw material. The first inorganic sealing layer can be formed without exposure to air or water vapor because it can be continuously formed in the organic EL device forming process in an organic EL device manufacturing process under an atmosphere having a low moisture content. Generation of initial dark spots immediately after use can be reduced.
The second inorganic sealing layer is a layer formed through a chemical reaction after applying a liquid or gel material. More specifically, the second inorganic sealing layer is made of silica having denseness. The second inorganic sealing layer is preferably made from a polysilazane derivative. When the second inorganic sealing layer is formed by silica conversion using a polysilazane derivative, a weight increase occurs during silica conversion, and the volume shrinkage is small. Further, there is an advantage that cracks can be made sufficiently at a temperature that the resin can withstand when the silica film is converted (solidified).
Here, the polysilazane derivative is a polymer having a silicon-nitrogen bond, such as SiO 2 , Si 3 N 4 made of Si—N, Si—H, N—H, etc., and a ceramic such as an intermediate solid solution SiOxNy of both. It is a precursor polymer. The polysilazane derivative also includes a derivative in which a hydrogen part bonded to Si is partially substituted with an alkyl group or the like. Among the polysilazane derivatives, perhydropolysilazane in which all side chains are hydrogen, and derivatives in which a hydrogen part bonded to silicon is partially substituted with a methyl group are particularly preferable. Since the second inorganic sealing layer can form a dense layer as compared with the first inorganic sealing layer, the sealing property is high, preventing the generation of new dark spots over time, Expansion can be suppressed.
