Description
Claims (15)
- 可視スペクトル範囲のレーザ光を放射するためのレーザにおいて、
レーザ共振器と、
前記レーザ共振器内に配置された、5d−4f遷移を有する希土類ドープ異方性結晶と、
5d−4f遷移を使用することによって可視スペクトル範囲のレーザ光を生成するための励起光を、前記結晶に照射することによって前記結晶を励起するための励起光源と、を有する、レーザ。 - 前記結晶及び前記励起光源は、生成されたレーザ光が緑色波長範囲内にあるように適応される、請求項1記載のレーザ。
- 前記結晶は、特定の屈折率楕円体軸を有し、
希土類ドープ元素の5d−4f遷移の際の可視波長範囲の誘導放出の前記特定の屈折率楕円体軸に対する断面積と、当該可視波長範囲の励起状態吸収の当該特定の屈折率楕円体軸に対する断面積との合計値は、正の値であり、
前記誘導放出の断面積には正の符号が付され、前記励起状態吸収の断面積には負の符号が付される、請求項1記載のレーザ。 - 前記レーザ共振器は、共振器軸を有し、
前記特定の屈折率楕円体軸は、前記共振器軸に対して平行でない、請求項3記載のレーザ。 - 前記特定の屈折率楕円体軸は、前記共振器軸に対して直交する、請求項4記載のレーザ。
- 前記結晶は、斜方晶系構造を有する、請求項1記載のレーザ。
- 前記結晶は、CaFe2O4構造型の結晶構造を持つ、請求項1記載のレーザ。
- 前記結晶は、セリウムをドープされている、請求項1記載のレーザ。
- ドーピング元素は、二価の部位で前記結晶に組み込まれる、請求項1記載のレーザ。
- 前記結晶内に組み込まれるドーピング元素は、三価である、請求項1記載のレーザ。
- 前記結晶は、CaSc2O4である、請求項1記載のレーザ。
- 前記結晶は、45〜75モル百分率のCaO、25〜55モル百分率のSc2O3、及び、0〜40モル百分率のドーピング元素を有する融液を使用することによって作り出される、請求項11記載のレーザ。
- 請求項1で規定されるレーザを有する照明デバイス。
- 前記照明デバイスは、前記レーザ光とは異なる他の光を生成するための少なくとも1つの他の光源を有し、混合光を生成するために前記レーザ光と前記他の光とを混合する、請求項13記載の照明デバイス。
- 可視スペクトル範囲のレーザ光を放射するためのレーザ方法において、
5d−4f遷移を有する希土類ドープ異方性結晶をレーザ共振器内に供給するステップと、
前記5d−4f遷移を使用することによって可視スペクトル範囲のレーザ光を生成するための励起光を、前記結晶に照射することによって前記結晶を励起するステップと、を有する、レーザ方法。
