Description
により特徴付けることができる第4アンモニウム化合物及びその塩類であり、ここで、R1、R2、R3、及びR4の少なくとも1つは、6〜26個の炭素原子のアルキル、アリール、又はアルキルアリール置換基であり、分子の全ての陽イオン部分は、少なくとも165の分子量を有する。アルキル置換基は、長鎖アルキル、長鎖アルコキシアリール、長鎖アルキルアリール、ハロゲン置換長鎖アルキルアリール、長鎖アルキルフェノキシアルキル、アリールアルキルなどとすることができる。上述のアルキル置換基以外の窒素原子上の残りの置換基は、通常12個の炭素原子のみを含有する炭化水素である。置換基R1、R2、R3、及びR4は、直鎖状とすることができ、又は分岐状とすることができるが、好ましくは直鎖状であり、かつ1つ又はそれよりも多くのアミド、エーテル、又はエステル結合を含むことができる。対イオンXは、四級アンモニウム錯体の水溶性又は水混和性を可能にするあらゆる塩形成陰イオンとすることができる。上述の式に従って殺菌剤として作用する好ましい四級アンモニウム化合物は、R2及びR3が同じか又は異なるC8−C12アルキルであり、又はR2は、C12-16アルキル、C8-18アルキルエトオキシ、C8-18アルキルフェノールエトキシであり、R3は、ベンジルであり、Xは、ハロゲン化物、例えば、塩化物、臭化物、又は沃化物であるか、又はメソ硫酸陰イオンである。R2及びR3に説明されたアルキル基は、直鎖状又は分岐状とすることができるが、実質的に直鎖状であることが好ましい。

(e)Rf(OCH2CH2)nORf、ここで、Rfは、式C8F15+C10F19又はC12F23の分岐鎖ラジカルであり、nは、約10〜約30である。
(f)Rf(OCH2CH2)mOR、ここで、Rfは、式C8F15+C10F19又はC12F23の分岐鎖ラジカルであり、mは、約2〜約20であり、Rは、C1〜C3アルキルである。
