The coil antenna subassembly 408 is desirable to operate as an antenna or as an inductor for magnetic coupling to another induction coil, such as directionality, efficiency or gain when worn on the body or in the eye. One or more turns of wire in the form of a circle or the like may be provided to produce a characteristic electromagnetic structure. The coil antenna subassembly 408 may be electrically coupled to the electronic circuit 406 by wiring traces 412 and electronic components 410. The notable or main difference between the optical lens assembly of FIG. 1A and the optical lens assembly of FIG. 4 is in the antenna. The apparatus of FIG. 1A includes a single loop antenna 108 configured with a circuit board 104, whereas the apparatus of FIG. 4 includes a coil antenna subassembly 408 separated from the circuit board 404. . This design can provide advantages in terms of fabrication, cost, assembly, antenna performance, and other features. The antenna subassembly 408 can be integrated with the lens 402, for example, as a wire or printed coil in a lens component.
