Abstract
【解決手段】2つの基板(9a,9b)の間に設けられる多数の素子(5a)及び両方の基板(9a,9b)上に設けられる電極(8a,8b)を持つ電気光学位相変調器において、素子が光学的に等方性の材料(7)から製造されており、電界を印加する際この材料が不等方性になり、少なくとも一方の基板(9a又は9b)に、個々の素子のために別々の電極(8a,8b)が設けられて、それぞれ個別に始動可能である。

Claims (10)
- 2つの基板(9a,9b)の間に設けられる多数の素子(5a)及び両方の基板(9a,9b)上に設けられる電極(8a,8b)を持つ電気光学位相変調器であって、素子が光学的に等方性の材料(7)から製造されており、電界を印加する際この材料が不等方性になり、少なくとも一方の基板(9a又は9b)に、個々の素子のために別々の電極(8a,8b)が設けられて、それぞれ個別に始動可能である、電気光学位相変調器。
- 光の伝搬方向が電極(8a,8b)の間の電界の方向に少なくとも大体一致していることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電気光学位相変調器。
- 光学的に等方性の材料(7)が液晶であることを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の電気光学位相変調器。
- 材料(7)が青い相にある液晶であり、青い相がなるべくポリマを安定化されていることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の電気光学位相変調器。
- 電極(8a,8b)が、基板に設けられる非直線部品により始動可能であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜4の1つに記載の電気光学位相変調器。
- 非直線部品が薄膜トランジスタであることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の電気光学位相変調器。
- 薄膜トランジスタが高い光透過を示すことを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の電気光学位相変調器。
- 非直線部品がダイオードであることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の電気光学位相変調器。
- 非直線部品がMIMダイオードであることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の電気光学位相変調器。
- 基板(9a,9b)が透明であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜9の1つに記載の電気光学位相変調器。
