Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an ear processing apparatus and a solution film forming method for separating and processing an ear portion having a predetermined width from a side edge portion while conveying a web.
For the liquid crystal panel for image display, an optical functional film such as a protective film for a polarizing plate or a retardation compensation film for obtaining a wide viewing angle during image observation is used. These optical functional films are obtained by laminating a thin film having characteristics corresponding to a desired function on a transparent support as a base, such as TAC (cellulose triacetate).
A solution casting method is known as a method for efficiently producing such an optical functional film. In the solution casting method, a polymer solution dope prepared by dissolving a polymer such as TAC in a mixed solvent containing dichloromethane or methyl acetate as a main solvent is prepared, and a casting bead is formed from a casting die to form a support. First, a cast film is formed. After the cast film has a self-supporting property on the support, it is peeled off as a film (wet film) from the support, dried and then wound up as a film (web) to obtain a product roll.
The optical functional film thus obtained is imparted with various optical properties according to the application by being subjected to various treatments during the process. However, because the thickness and optical characteristics are unstable at the side edge of the film, the film is manufactured wider than the product width at the time of film formation, and the side edge portion is cut into a certain width during the process. It is normal to cut.
The edge-cutting process is generally performed by separating the both end portions of the web into strips with a certain width with a rotary cutter while conveying the web. The ears separated from the web may be disposed of depending on the type. However, in the ear processing apparatus provided in the solution casting equipment described above, the separated ears are collected and finally collected. Is also considered to be recycled as a raw material.
For example, the ear processing apparatus known from
However, the above-mentioned ear processing device may cause a problem when the width of the ear that is separated from the side edge of the web is changed, and continuous processing may be interrupted. The width of the ear part is determined according to the total width of the web and the product width, but when the width of the ear part is changed, the band-like ear part is cut just before the introduction port or the band-like ear part is entangled. Therefore, there is a problem that clogging occurs in the duct and the air cannot be sent to the cutter for fragmentation. If such a problem occurs, it cannot be recovered unless the web conveyance is stopped, and the production efficiency is significantly reduced. Moreover, this problem occurs both when the ear is changed from wide to narrow or from narrow to wide, and an improvement measure is desired.
The present invention has been made in view of the above background, and an ear processing device that is further fragmented after the side edge of the web is cut into a band having a predetermined width and can be efficiently recovered by air blowing. Even when the cut-out width of the part is changed, an ear part processing device that can be continuously fragmented and sent to the collection path without breaking the band-like ear part and clogging in the duct The purpose is to provide.
When the present invention achieves the above object, the trouble that the band-like ear portion breaks before the duct inlet or is clogged inside the duct is caused by the width of the ear portion introduced into the duct. Focusing on the fact that the speed of the airflow inside is not appropriate, the speed of the airflow inside the duct is changed when the width of the ear portion is changed.
The ear part processing apparatus of the present invention includes an ear clip part that cuts the ear part into a belt-like shape from the side end part of the conveyed web, and an ear width change part that can change the width of the ear part cut by the ear cut part in at least two stages. , Equipped with an introduction port into which the cut-out ears are introduced, and a duct for guiding the ears introduced into the introduction port to the recovery path through a cutter for fragmentation, and an air flow is generated inside the duct The blower that sends the ear part introduced into the introduction port to the cutter and blows the ear part cut by the cutter toward the recovery path, and the width of the ear part separated by the ear-cutting device has been changed to be wide. And an air-feeding control unit that slows the airflow speed when the airflow is changed and increases the airflow speed when the airflow is changed to a narrow width.
It is desirable to have an ear width detecting means for detecting the width of the ear part between the ear cut part and the introduction port. For example, the ear width detecting means is a full width measuring means for measuring the full width of the web before the ear is cut, a cutting position measuring means for measuring the cutting position of the ear based on the position of the cutting blade of the ear cutting device, It is desirable to provide. Alternatively, the ear width detection means measures the position of the ear part separation based on the position of the ear end position measuring means for measuring the position of the end of the ear part after the ear part has been cut off and the cutting blade of the ear clip device. And a cutting position measuring means. Alternatively, it is desirable that the ear width detecting means includes ear part both-end position measuring means for measuring both end positions of the ear part after the ear part is cut off.
It is desirable to provide a pair of feed rollers between the introduction port in the duct and the cutter so as to sandwich the ear portion introduced into the duct and supply it to the cutter. The cutter is preferably a rotary cutter.
In order to achieve the above object, the solution casting method of the present invention comprises a film forming step of flowing a dope containing a polymer and a solvent to a support and forming a cast film composed of the dope, and a solvent from the cast film. The film drying step for evaporating, the peeling step for peeling the casting film from the support to form a web, the separating step for separating the web ears, and the ears separated using the ear processing device of the present invention And an ear processing step for processing and recovering.
Since the ear part processing apparatus of the present invention controls the speed of the airflow according to the width of the ear part, the band-like ear part is not broken even when continuously processing the ear part whose width has been changed. In addition, it can be continuously stripped and sent to the collection path without clogging the duct.

Next, the operation of the present invention will be described. The belt-
As shown in the flowchart of FIG. 7, the air sending control unit 35 according to the present embodiment includes a side edge position measurement process S <b> 1 that measures the position of the side edge with respect to the
A side edge position measurement process S1 is performed by the
For example, when an instruction to change the product width of the film is issued to the ear-cutting device through the
In the ear processing apparatus according to the present invention, the width of the ear corresponding to some specific product widths and the optimum air flow velocity are set in the

Therefore, when changing the product width without stopping casting using the same solution casting apparatus, the intake control unit 35 applies the
A second embodiment of the ear processing apparatus according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 1 to 4 and 6 and 7 are the same as those in the first embodiment, and a description thereof will be omitted.
A third embodiment of the ear processing apparatus according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4 and 6 are the same as those in the first embodiment, and a description thereof will be omitted. As shown in FIGS. 4 and 9, the air sending control unit 35 includes a sensor 66 </ b> D that detects the positions of both ends of the ear part after the strip-shaped
As shown in the flowchart of FIG. 10, the air sending control unit 35 in the present embodiment measures both end positions of the ears with respect to the
The both-end position measurement process S3 is performed by the
A fourth embodiment of the ear processing apparatus according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 1 to 3 and FIGS. 5 to 7 are the same as those in the first embodiment, and a description thereof will be omitted. In the present embodiment, an ear-
As shown in FIG. 11, in the
Between the
The
As shown in FIG. 12A, when the tip 16CE of the ear is above the
A signal is emitted from the
In the
Therefore, when the tip of the
A fixed
Since the
Further, the fixed
The air sending control unit 35 in the present embodiment can use any of the air sending control units 35 in the first to third embodiments. In this case, similarly to the first to third embodiments, when the width of the
Although the movable roller and the fixed roller are provided in the fourth embodiment, the movable roller and the fixed roller may not be provided. Of course, it is desirable to provide a movable roller or a fixed roller. Providing a movable roller or fixed roller can more securely pinch the ears near the rotary cutter and at the same time further reduce the phenomenon of the ears breaking and wrapping around the transport roller. Can be sent and collected. In the first to third embodiments, only a maximum of two movable rollers and fixed rollers are provided, but any number may be provided.
When shifting from the upper state to the lower state, the arrangement of the movable roller, the fixed roller, and the feed roller pair is automatically shifted by the
Note that the present invention is not limited to this, and the design may be changed as appropriate as long as the ear processing apparatus and the solution casting method have the same technical idea.
Next, examples of the present invention will be described. This example was performed in the same ear processing apparatus as the first embodiment based on FIGS. The size of the rollers such as the
In this embodiment, the width of the ear portion and the air flow velocity in the

In this example, the width of the ear portion was varied to three levels of 40 mm, 200 mm, and 600 mm, and the air velocity in the

As shown in FIG. 13, it was found that “◯” or “◎” is between the upper limit straight line Vmax and the lower limit straight line Vmin of the airflow velocity in the
