主刈取り装置16は、図3に示す如く、多数のフィンガ3と可動主刈刃4で構成し、刈刃駆動ケース7の出力軸に固着のL型駆動アーム8と可動主刈刃4を連結して左右往復揺動する。
前記左右両側の支持枠15,15の後上部の横フレーム52の上にリール支持ブラケット59を取り付け、このリール支持ブラケット59に支持する回動支持軸53に、リール支持アーム19,19の基部を横軸で回動自在に取り付け、このリール支持アーム19,19に掻込みリール18を支持する。前記支持枠15,15における外側の部位とリール支持アーム19,19との間には、このリール支持アーム19,19を昇降させる油圧シリンダ10を設け、このリール支持アーム19,19の先端部分に、掻込みリール18側の側面視五角形の側板54を軸架している。油圧シリンダ10は、掻込みリール18のタイン56の回転軌跡より外側に設けているために、タイン56で掻き込まれる穀稈が油圧シリンダ10に引っ掛かることが無く、掻込みオーガ20に取り込まれる。

前記回動支持軸53には左右側板54,54間の全幅に亘って板体1を固着している。この板体1は周囲を線状の枠杆1aで補強し、掻込みリール18を下降させた位置では前上がり傾斜状態になってテーブル14上を覆って掻込みオーガ20の回転に伴って巻き上がる塵埃が後方の操縦席側に流れないようになり、掻込みリール18を上昇させた位置では後上がり状態になってテーブル14の横フレーム52上に倒れる穀稈の穂先側を受けて折れ曲がりを防いで、掻込みオーガ20への取り込みが支障なく行われるようになる。

左右の支持枠15,15内に設ける掻込みオーガ20は、前記刈取装置16の刈幅と同等の長さに形成して横向きに設け、その両端を左右の支持枠15,15に横軸55で軸受支持し、フィーダーケース22の取り込み口に向けて搬送作用するラセンと左右適宜間隔で設ける掻込フィンガを有し、掻込フィンガが刈取装置16の先端よりも前に突き出して穀稈を引き込み、回転に伴って刈取穀稈をラセンと掻込フィンガで掻き込みながらテーブル14の右側寄りに設けるフィーダーケース22の入り口に集める。
このフィーダーケース22内のフィーダー21の搬送始端部を掻込みオーガ20の背後に臨ませて、搬送終端部を前記脱穀装置60の穀稈供給口に連通させて設け、前記掻込みオーガ20が集めた刈取穀稈を脱穀装置60の供給口まで搬送して供給する。
フィーダーケース22の横フレーム52下部の内側に全横幅に亘って傾斜ガイド板58を設けてフィーダーケース22の入口側を補強すると共にフィーダー21によって巻き上げられる穀稈の上方への飛び出しを防いで後方へ案内する。この傾斜ガイド板58の前下方に向かう延長線58aは掻込みオーガ20の円筒上端より後側に向かわせてフィーダー21に付き回りする穀稈を前に飛び出させない。
また、フィーダーケース22の上面22aの下端は横フレーム52の上面52aよりも高くし、前記リール支持ブラケット59もフィーダーケース22の左右幅よりも外側に設けているので、フィーダーケース22の上面22aに載った穀稈や塵埃が溜まることなく横フレーム52上を通ってテーブル14内の掻込みオーガ20上に落下する。
左側支持枠15の外側に縦刈刃装置5を立ち上げて左側支持枠15から延ばす縦刈刃支持アーム6で縦刈刃装置5を支持している。この縦刈刃装置5は主刈取り装置16よりも前側で分草杆17の真後或いは若干内側上方に立設し、絡み合って植立する作物を縦に分断して掻込みリール18による取り込みを行い易くすると共に、クロ−ラ11によって未刈作物を踏み付けることが無いようにする。
この縦刈刃装置5は、前後に位置調整可能で、固定刃と可動縦刈刃で構成し、前記刈刃駆動ケース7の出力軸に固着のL型駆動アーム8と縦駆動アーム9を可動縦刈刃に連結して可動縦刈刃を上下往復揺動する。
図5から図8に示す実施例は、掻込みリール18と主刈取り装置16と縦刈刃装置5を取り外して、前方低位置の刈刃73から上方にかけて左右一対のラグベルト62,62からなるロークロップ装置80を横方向三組設けて豆やそば等の丈の低い茎稈を両側から係止して、挟持状態にしながら搬送する刈取前処理装置13に構成する汎用コンバインを示している。
