Abstract
受信器(36)と、送信器(38)と、制御回路(40)とを備える通信端末(24)を提供する受信器は、それぞれ別のスペクトル帯域の2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアを含む統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号を受信する。送信器は、通信端末にサービスを提供するサービス提供基地局(28A)にアップリンク信号を送信する。制御回路は、統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号の2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアのそれぞれのチャネル測定値を評価し、且つ、チャネル測定値に基づいて作成されたレポートであって、2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアのうち少なくとも2つのコンポーネントキャリアのそれぞれのチャネル品質メトリックを示すレポートをサービス提供基地局に送信する。

- 通信端末であって、
それぞれ別のスペクトル帯域の2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアを含む統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号を受信する受信器と、
前記通信端末にサービスを提供するサービス提供基地局にアップリンク信号を送信する送信器と、
前記統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号の前記2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアのそれぞれのチャネル測定値を評価し、且つ、前記チャネル測定値に基づいて作成されたレポートであって、前記2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアのうち少なくとも2つのコンポーネントキャリアのそれぞれのチャネル品質メトリックを示すレポートを前記サービス提供基地局に送信する制御回路と
を備える通信端末。 - 前記受信器は、前記サービス提供基地局から前記統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号を受信し、前記制御回路は、前記サービス提供基地局から受信した前記統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号の前記2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアのそれぞれの前記チャネル測定値を別々に評価する請求項1に記載の通信端末。
- 前記受信器は、前記サービス提供基地局とは異なる隣接基地局から前記統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号を受信し、前記制御回路は、前記隣接基地局から受信した前記統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号の前記2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアのそれぞれの前記チャネル測定値を別々に評価する請求項1に記載の通信端末。
- 前記制御回路は、前記少なくとも2つのコンポーネントキャリアのチャネル品質メトリックを一緒に圧縮して、一緒に圧縮された前記チャネル品質メトリックを前記アップリンク信号で前記サービス提供基地局に送信する請求項1から請求項3のうちいずれか一項に記載の通信端末。
- 前記制御回路は、互いに異なる少なくとも第1の種類および第2の種類の前記チャネル測定値を評価し、前記第1の種類の前記チャネル測定値に対応する前記チャネル品質メトリックを、前記第2の種類の前記チャネル測定値に対応する前記チャネル品質メトリックとは別に、一緒に圧縮する請求項4に記載の通信端末。
- 前記制御回路は、基準コンポーネントキャリアの基準チャネル測定値と前記チャネル測定値との1以上の差分を報告することによって、前記チャネル品質メトリックを圧縮する請求項4に記載の通信端末。
- 前記制御回路は、少なくとも2つの基地局から受信したコンポーネントキャリアのチャネル測定値を評価し、前記少なくとも2つの基地局において同じスペクトル帯域を占有しているコンポーネントキャリアを基準コンポーネントキャリアとして選択する請求項6に記載の通信端末。
- 前記チャネル測定値は、受信信号強度(RSSI)を含み、前記制御回路は、前記RSSIを評価する請求項1から請求項3のうちいずれか一項に記載の通信端末。
- 前記チャネル測定値は、基準信号受信電力(RSRP)レベルを含み、前記制御回路は、前記RSRPレベルを評価する請求項1から請求項3のうちいずれか一項に記載の通信端末。
- 前記受信器は、少なくとも2つの不連続のスペクトル帯域で前記2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアを受信して、前記制御回路は、前記少なくとも2つの不連続のスペクトル帯域で受信される前記2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアの前記チャネル測定値を評価する請求項1から請求項3のうちいずれか一項に記載の通信端末。
- 2つ以上のチャネル品質メトリックを含むレポートを通信端末から受信する受信器と、
前記レポートに応じて前記通信端末との通信を修正するプロセッサと
を備え、
前記2つ以上のチャネル品質メトリックはそれぞれ、前記通信端末が評価した統合スペクトル信号の1つのコンポーネントキャリアに対応する基地局。 - 前記プロセッサは、前記レポートに応じて、前記通信端末との前記通信のハンドオフ先のセルを選択する請求項11に記載の基地局。
- 前記プロセッサは、前記レポートに応じて、前記基地局から前記通信端末へのコンポーネントキャリアの割り当てを修正する請求項11に記載の基地局。
- 通信端末において、それぞれ別のスペクトル帯域の2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアを含む統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号を受信する段階と、
前記2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアのそれぞれのチャネル測定値を評価する段階と、
前記チャネル測定値に基づいて作成されたレポートであって、前記2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアの少なくとも2つのコンポーネントキャリアのそれぞれのチャネル品質メトリックを含むレポートを、前記通信端末にサービスを提供するサービス提供基地局へと送信する段階と
を備える通信方法。 - 前記統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号を受信する段階は、前記サービス提供基地局から前記統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号を受信する段階を有し、前記チャネル測定値を評価する段階は、前記サービス提供基地局から受信した前記統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号の前記2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアのそれぞれのチャネル測定値を別々に評価する段階を有する請求項14に記載の通信方法。
- 前記統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号を受信する段階は、前記サービス提供基地局とは異なる隣接基地局から前記統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号を受信する段階を有し、前記チャネル測定値を評価する段階は、前記隣接基地局から受信した前記統合スペクトルダウンリンク信号の前記2つ以上のコンポーネントキャリアのそれぞれのチャネル測定値を別々に評価する段階を有する請求項14に記載の通信方法。
- 前記レポートを送信する段階は、前記少なくとも2つのコンポーネントキャリアのチャネル品質メトリックを一緒に圧縮して、一緒に圧縮された前記チャネル品質メトリックを前記サービス提供基地局に送信する段階を有する請求項14に記載の通信方法。
- 基地局において、通信端末から、前記通信端末が評価した統合スペクトル信号の1つのコンポーネントキャリアに各々が対応する2つ以上のチャネル品質メトリックを含むレポートを受信する段階と、
前記レポートに応じて前記通信端末との通信を修正する段階と
を備える通信方法。 - 前記通信を修正する段階は、前記レポートに応じて、前記通信端末との前記通信のハンドオフ先のセルを選択する段階を有する請求項18に記載の通信方法。
- 前記通信を修正する段階は、前記レポートに応じて、前記基地局から前記通信端末へのコンポーネントキャリアの割り当てを修正する段階を有する請求項18に記載の通信方法。
