このフレキソ墨印刷におけるカーボン量は出願人が従来から使用している遮光紙カップ用の原紙に塗布するカーボンブラックの使用量11.11g/m2を100%とし、この従来品に対してカーボン量を80(8.89g/m2),60(6.67g/m2),40(4.45g/m2),20(2.22g/m2),0(0g/m2)%とした(表5参照)。
なお、従来品は、坪量が220g/m2の原紙に遮光印刷層としてグラビア墨印刷を行い、その外側に墨印刷、白印刷および樹脂層として遮蔽コート15g/m2を設けたものである。
また、遮光性は、分光光度計V−550(日本分光製)を用い、全光線透過率(%)を測定した。なお、遮光性として必要とされる光線透過率は、可視光域において1.0%以下であれば、問題なく遮光性が得られる。
全光線透過率の測定結果は、表6に示した。この表から明らかなように、従来品(基準品)との比較および通常の遮光性に対する基準から原紙に塗布するカーボンブラック量を4.45g/m2以上とすることで、必要な遮光性が得られることが確認できた。

2枚の原紙の間に遮光性印刷層を備えた積層遮光紙を用いて成形される遮光性紙カップにおいて、
前記積層遮光紙の前記紙カップの内側となる原紙外側に、樹脂層を介して前記遮光印刷層を積層する一方、当該積層遮光紙の2枚の原紙の坪量の和が150〜350g/m2であり、かつ一方の原紙の坪量が他方の原紙の坪量に対して1.3倍以上であることを特徴とする遮光性紙カップ。
