Abstract
【解決手段】液晶パネルと;T−Vカーブの特性によって各階調に対応するガンマ電圧が設定されたガンマ電圧供給部と;前記ガンマ電圧を用いて、入力されたデジタル映像データをアナログ映像データに変換し、前記液晶パネルに出力するデータ駆動部を備え、前記各階調のうち、ブラック階調に対応する前記ガンマ電圧値が0V〜0.005Vになるように設定された液晶表示装置及びその駆動方法を提供する。

Claims (6)
- 液晶パネルと;
T−Vカーブの特性によって各階調に対応するガンマ電圧が設定されたガンマ電圧供給部と;
前記ガンマ電圧を用いて、入力されたデジタル映像データをアナログ映像データに変換し、前記液晶パネルに出力するデータ駆動部を備え、
前記各階調のうち、ブラック階調に対応する前記ガンマ電圧値が0V〜0.005Vになるように設定されたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記各階調のうち、前記ブラック階調の次の階調である第1階調に該当する前記ガンマ電圧値は、前記T−Vカーブで階調の反転後の輝度が増加する電圧範囲内で設定されたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記ガンマ電圧供給部は、高電位側の電源電圧と前記高電位側の電源電圧の1/2である半電圧との間に繋げられ、複数の正極性ガンマ電圧を出力する正極性ガンマ電圧生成部と;
前記半電圧と低電位側の電源電圧との間に繋げられ、複数の負極性ガンマ電圧を出力する負極性ガンマ電圧生成部を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記正極性ガンマ電圧生成部及び前記負極性ガンマ電圧生成部は、各々直列に接続された複数の抵抗からなることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 液晶パネルとデータ駆動部とを備える液晶表示装置の駆動方法において、
前記データ駆動部によって、入力デジタル映像データをアナログ映像データに変換する段階と、前記アナログ映像データを前記液晶パネルに出力する段階とを備え、
前記アナログ映像データへの変換段階ではT−Vカーブの特性によって設定されたガンマ電圧を用いて変換を行い、
前記ガンマ電圧のうち、ブラック階調に対応する電圧値が0V〜0.005Vになるように設定されることを特徴とする液晶表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記ガンマ電圧のうち、前記ブラック階調の次の階調である第1階調に該当する値は、前記T−Vカーブで階調の反転後の輝度が増加する電圧範囲内で設定されたことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
