本開示の光源装置は、投写型表示装置に用いられる光源であって、レーザーと、レーザーからの光を受けて蛍光を発する蛍光体層を有する蛍光基板と、蛍光が蛍光基板から出射する側に設けられ、入射した光の入射角に応じて屈折光と反射光とに分離するプリズム面を有するプリズムアレイと、を備える。このプリズムアレイは、プリズム面と蛍光基板との間の多重反射により、蛍光の指向性を高めることを要旨とする。上記構成の光源装置は、固体光源により蛍光を発した光が、高い指向性をもつため、出射光束の立体角を小さくでき、高効率な光源が構成できる。 A light source device of the present disclosure is a light source used in a projection display device, and includes a laser, a fluorescent substrate having a phosphor layer that emits fluorescence upon receiving light from the laser, and a side on which fluorescence is emitted from the fluorescent substrate.
