Abstract
Description
本発明および本発明の課題は、いかなる断面形状を有するいかなる筒状の構造部材に適用することができるが、本明細書では、航空機の機体バレル部分に適用した場合の本発明および本発明の課題について詳細に説明する。
本発明の思想は、筒状の構造部材の製造のために、同じく筒状の、かつネガティブモールドである成形型を用いることである。すなわち、成形型内周面が、形成される構造部材の外周面のネガになる。ここで「筒状」とは、断面が円形である筒に限定されるのではなく、楕円、長方形または他の任意の形状の断面を有する筒を含む。さらに、筒体の断面は筒体の全長に亘って一定である必要はなく、縮小されたり拡大されたり、他の形状にされたりされてもよい。
本発明の好ましい実施の形態では、スペースホルダが補強部材と筒状の繊維織物との間のキャビティ内に配置される。硬化工程中、補強部材が支持表面および成形型の内周面からの相互の圧力にさらされるとき、このスペースホルダが、補強部材の所望のキャビティを中空状態に保つ。スペースホルダは、好ましくは鞘膜を有する。この場合、本発明の方法は、鞘膜内の気圧を上昇させることでスペースホルダを拡張させるステップをさらに有する。このように拡張されうるスペースホルダは、硬化工程後、収縮されることができるので、容易に離型されることができる。
図1A〜図1Cは、航空機の機体バレル部分を製造するデバイスの3つの概要斜視図である。3つの図面はそれぞれ製造方法の異なる工程を示す。製造される機体バレル部分は、おおよそシリンダーバレル型である。機体バレル部分の断面は、通常、真円ではなく、機体バレル部分の長さ方向に沿って変化する。
例えば、形状プロフィールが異なる様々な補強部材を用いることができる。また、テーパ状の断面を有していたり、ドアや窓などの開口部を有する複雑な形状の機体バレル部分や、他の筒状構造部材を製造することも可能である。
Claims (21)
- 筒状の構造部材(100)の外周面に対応した形状の成形型内周面(106)を有する、筒状の成形型(102)を準備するステップ;
拡張していない状態で、前記成形型(102)内に配置され、支持表面(108)と前記成形型内周面(106)との間に拡張間隔(112)を残すように構成され、かつ拡張可能な支持体(110)の前記支持表面(108)を筒状の繊維織物(114)で覆うステップ;
前記成形型(102)内に前記支持体(110)を配置するステップ;
前記支持体(110)を前記繊維織物(114)の径方向に拡張し、前記繊維織物(114)を前記成形型内周面(106)に押し当てるステップ;および
前記繊維織物(114)に硬化性樹脂マトリクス(115)を含浸させるステップを有する、前記筒状の構造部材(100)の製造方法。 - 前記繊維織物(114)の繊維(116)が支持体110の周りを対角線状に延びるように、前記支持表面(108)が前記繊維織物(114)によって覆われることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記支持体(110)が、前記繊維織物(114)で覆われたとき、前記筒状の繊維織物(114)は、前記構造部材(100)よりも長い長さ(118)を有することを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記支持体(110)は、加圧膜(200)を有し、前記支持体(110)は、内部領域(202)と、前記加圧膜(200)と前記成形型(102)との間の中間領域(202)と、の間に気圧差を形成することで、拡張されることを特徴とする請求項1〜3いずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記気圧差を形成するために、前記内部領域(202)内の気圧を大気圧よりも高くすることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記気圧差を形成するために、前記中間領域(206)内の気圧を大気圧よりも低くすることを特徴とする請求項4または5に記載の方法。
- 前記支持表面(108)と前記繊維織物(114)との間に補強部材(208)を配置するステップをさらに有することを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記支持体(110)を拡張する間、前記補強部材(208)を、前記成形型(102)の径方向(212)にガイドするステップをさらに有することを特徴とする請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記補強部材(208)は、前記支持表面(108)と前記繊維織物(114)との間に配置され、樹脂が予め含浸された、または樹脂が含浸されていない半完成繊維製品であること特徴とする請求項7または請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記補強部材(208)は、前記支持表面(108)と前記繊維織物(114)との間に配置され、予備硬化された、半完成繊維製品であることを特徴とする請求項7または請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記補強部材(208)は、前記支持表面(108)に対応して構成された凹部(210)に配置されることを特徴とする請求項7〜10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- スペースホルダ(300)が、前記補強部材(208)と、前記筒状の繊維織物(114)との間のキャビティ(304)に配置されることを特徴とする請求項7〜11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記スペースホルダ(300)は、膜鞘(301)を有し、前記膜鞘 (301)内の気圧を高めることで、前記スペースホルダ(300)を拡張するステップを有することを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 筒状の構造部材(100)の外周面に対応した形状の成形型内周面(106)を有する、筒状の成形型(102)と、
拡張していない状態で、その支持表面(108)と前記成形型内周面(106)との間に拡張間隔(112)を残すように、前記成形型(102)内に配置されるように形成された拡張可能な支持体(110)と、
前記支持表面(108)が、筒状の繊維織物(114)で覆われ、前記支持体(110)が前記成形型(102)内に配置されたとき、前記支持表面(104)が前記繊維織物を径方向に拡張させ、前記成形型内周面(106)に押し当てるように、前記支持体(110)を拡張する手段と、
前記繊維織物(114)に硬化性樹脂マトリクス(115)を含浸させる手段と、を有する、筒状構造部材(100)を製造するためのデバイス。 - 前記拡張間隔(112)は、1〜10cmであることを特徴とする請求項14に記載のデバイス。
- 前記支持体(110)は、加圧膜(200)を有し、前記拡張手段は、内部領域(202)と、前記加圧膜(200)と前記成形型102との間の中間領域(202)と、の間に気圧差を形成するように構成されたことを特徴とする請求項14または15に記載のデバイス。
