Claims (12)
- 燃焼室(7)を有する内燃機関エンジン(1)であって、エンジンシリンダ(2)、前記燃焼室(7)の内面(21)を形成するシリンダヘッド(14)、および少なくとも一つの吸気ポート(9)を有するエンジンボディと、前記エンジンシリンダ(2)内で、下死点位置と上死点位置の間を往復移動するように配置されるピストン(3)とを含み、前記ピストン(3)は、前記燃焼室に面する上面(5)を有するピストンクラウン(16)を含み、前記ピストンクラウンは、外側に開口した空洞によって形成されるピストンボウル(6)を含み、前記ピストンボウルは、遠位端(18)を有する突出部(17)と、前記ピストン(3)の往復運動の軸(15)に垂直な平面から、効果的な内側ボウル底面角度(α)で下方に延びる内側ボウル底面部(19)とを含み、前記ピストンボウルは、断面において凹型の曲線形状を有する、外側に開いた外側ボウル部(20)を更に含み、前記ピストンボウルの前記突出部の近くで前記エンジンボディに搭載されて、高噴射圧力で燃焼室内に燃料を噴射する噴射装置(13)を含み、前記噴射装置は、進行中に点火された火炎となって、所定の衝突領域内で前記外側ボウル部(20)に衝突する燃料の噴霧柱を形成するように配列される複数のオリフィスを含む、前記内燃機関エンジン(1)において、
前記衝突領域は、噴射のほとんどの期間において外側ボウル部(20)内に存在すること、および前記外側ボウル部(20)内の前記衝突領域のあいだのほぼ中間で、前記往復移動に略垂直な平面に、前記燃焼室(7)内に突出する第1形式の突起が設けられ、前記第1形式の突起は、前記火炎の運動エネルギを保存し、かつ、周方向の火炎の進行方向を変えて、火炎と火炎の相互作用が最小の状態で、主にピストン(3)の中心軸に向かわせるように適合される滑らかな形状を有することを特徴とする内燃機関エンジン(1)。 - 前記衝突領域内に、第2形式の突起が設けられ、前記第2形式の突起は、衝突領域に向かう火炎の進行方向を変えて、前記往復移動に略垂直な平面において、火炎とピストン壁の相互作用が最小で、かつ、運動エネルギの損失が最小の状態で、主に周方向の火炎進行方向に送るように適合されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の内燃機関エンジン。
- 前記突起は、それぞれ、前記往復移動に略平行な平面において、外側ボウル領域内のみに伸長する長手隆起形状を有することを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の内燃機関エンジン。
- 前記隆起の伸長部に垂直な、前記隆起の頂部の断面は、前記ピストン(3)のピストンボウル半径(R3)の少なくとも1/20である平均半径で湾曲した形状に形成されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の内燃機関エンジン。
- 前記第1形式の突起は、前記第2形式の突起よりも更に深く、燃焼室(7)内に突出することを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の内燃機関エンジン。
- 噴射の開始時の前記衝突領域内の第1衝突部と、噴射の終了時の前記衝突領域内の第2衝突ポイントとを有し、
前記隆起は、第1平面に設けられた第1位置から第2平面に設けられた第2位置まで少なくとも延び、前記第1平面は、前記第1衝突ポイントと前記第1位置に共通の平面であり、前記第2平面は、前記第2衝突ポイントと前記第2位置に共通の平面であり、前記第1平面および第2平面は、前記ピストン(3)の往復移動に垂直であることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の内燃機関エンジン。 - 前記オリフィスの中心軸(30)は、全噴射期間において、前記外側ボウル部(20)に衝突するように配置されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の内燃機関エンジン。
- 前記吸気ポート(9)は、動作中にスワール作用が存在しないか、または少ない状態で、前記燃焼室内に給気を送るように、前記シリンダヘッド(14)内に形成されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の内燃機関エンジン。
- 前記スワール作用によって生じるスワール比は、0.0〜0.7の範囲内であることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の内燃機関エンジン。
- 前記噴霧の軸(30)に対する前記内側ボウル底面部(19)の幾何学的配置は、前記内側ボウル底面部と前記噴霧の軸(30)の間に十分な容積および距離が存在することで、前記噴霧のノズル近くの未点火部分と、前記内側ボウル部との外乱的接触が回避されるように設定されることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の内燃機関エンジン。
- 噴射された前記燃料は、噴射時に、前記燃焼室内で前記給気との混合物を形成するように構成されることと、前記ピストンによって前記混合物が圧縮されたときに、当該混合物自体が着火することとを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の内燃機関エンジン。
- 前記エンジン(1)は、再循環される排気ガスのうちの所定の分量を前記給気に加えるように構成され、前記分量は、前記燃焼によって生じる窒素酸化物の排出量を、指定の低レベル未満に維持するように適合されることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の内燃機関エンジン。
