Abstract
【解決手段】カラー表示装置は、複数の画素表示素子(1’)と駆動回路(17)とを含む。各画素表示素子(1’)は複数の副画素表示素子(1)を含む。各副画素表示素子(1)は、第1および第2の支持体(11、12)と、それぞれ第1および第2の支持体(11、12)の内面に取り付けられた第1および第2の電極(13、14)と、第1の電極(13)と第2の電極(14)との間に配置された溶液(15)と、溶液(15)中に分散された粒子(16)とを含む。同じ1つの画素表示素子(1’)の副画素表示素子(1)の粒子(16)は、駆動回路(17)から供給され、同じ所定の駆動周波数を有する電圧信号によって電気的に分極可能である。

Claims (17)
- カラー表示装置であって、
各々が複数の副画素表示素子(1)を含む複数の画素表示素子(1’)であって、前記各副画素表示素子(1)が、第1および第2の支持体(11、12)、前記第1および第2の支持体(11、12)それぞれの内面に取り付けられた第1および第2の電極(13、14)、前記第1の電極(13)と前記第2の電極(14)との間に配置された溶液(15)、および前記溶液中に分散された粒子(16)を含む複数の画素表示素子(1’)と、
前記第1の支持体(11)、前記第1の電極(13)、および前記溶液(15)が光透過性であることと、
同じ1つの前記画素表示素子(1’)の前記副画素表示素子(1)の前記粒子(16)が所定の駆動周波数の下で電気的に分極可能であることと、
前記副画素表示素子(1)に電気的に結合され、前記各副画素表示素子(1)に電圧信号を供給し、前記副画素表示素子(1)に供給される電圧信号が同じ所定の駆動周波数を有する駆動回路(17)と、
前記各画素表示素子(1’)の前記第1の支持体(11)、前記第2の支持体(12)、前記溶液(15)、および前記粒子(16)が、それぞれの色特性を備え、それによって、前記各副画素表示素子(1)が、前記粒子(16)が分極されず、前記溶液(15)中で不規則に分散される第1の表示状態であるときに第1の色を表示することができ、前記副画素表示素子(1)が、前記所定の駆動周波数を有する前記電圧信号を前記駆動回路(17)から供給されて前記粒子(16)を分極し、その結果前記溶液(15)中に前記粒子(16)のストリングが形成される第2の状態であるときに第2の色を表示することができ、
同じ1つの前記画素表示素子(1’)の前記副画素表示素子(1)が、前記第1および第2の表示状態のうちの一方であるときにそれぞれ異なる色を表示することと、を特徴とするカラー表示装置。 - 前記副画素表示素子(1)の前記粒子(16)は一様な重量特性を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 同じ1つの前記副画素表示素子(1)の前記粒子(16)は同じ色を有し、同じ1つの前記画素表示素子(1’)の前記副画素表示素子(1)の前記粒子(16)がそれぞれ異なる色を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 前記各副画素表示素子(1)の前記第2の支持体(12)は、白色と黒色のうちの一方を有することを特徴とする、請求項3に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 前記各副画素表示素子(1)の前記粒子(16)は中性粒子であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 同じ1つの前記画素表示素子(1’)の前記副画素表示素子(1)の前記第2の支持体(12)は、それぞれ異なる色を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 前記各副画素表示素子(1)の前記第2の支持体(12)は、白色背面光源と着色透明基板とを有することを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 前記副画素表示素子(1)の前記粒子(16)は、白色と黒色とからなる群から選択される同じ色を有することを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 同じ1つの前記画素表示素子(1’)の前記副画素表示素子(1)の前記溶液(15)はそれぞれ異なる色を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 前記副画素表示素子(1)の前記粒子(16)は黒色を有し、前記副画素表示素子(1)の前記第2の支持体(12)は白色を有することを特徴とする、請求項9に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 前記各副画素表示素子(1)の前記第2の支持体(12)は、白色背面光源と、前記白色背面光源に結合された透明基板とを含むことを特徴とする、請求項10に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 前記各副画素表示素子(1)の前記第1の支持体(11)は、透明基板と、前記透明基板上に積み重ねられた着色基板とを含み、同じ1つの前記画素表示素子(1’)の前記副画素表示素子(1)の前記着色基板が、それぞれ異なる色を有していることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 前記各副画素表示素子(1)の前記粒子(16)は黒色を有し、前記各副画素表示素子(1’)の前記第2の支持体(12)は白色を有することを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 前記各副画素表示素子(1)の前記第2の支持体(12)は、白色背面光源と、前記白色背面光源に結合された透明基板とを含むことを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 前記各副画素表示素子(1)の前記粒子(16)は白色を有し、前記各副画素表示素子(1)の前記第2の支持体(12)は黒色を有することを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のカラー表示装置。
- 前記各副画素表示素子(1)の前記粒子(16)は、正に荷電された粒子(161)と負に荷電された粒子(162)とを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のカラー表示装置。
- カラー表示装置であって、
各々が3つの副画素表示素子(1)を含む複数の画素表示素子(1’)であって、前記各画素表示素子(1)が、第1および第2の支持体(11、12)、前記第1および第2の支持体(11、12)それぞれの内面に取り付けられた第1および第2の電極(13、14)、前記第1の電極(13)と前記第2の電極(14)との間に配置された溶液(15)、および前記溶液中に分散された粒子(16)を含む複数の画素表示素子(1’)と、
前記第1の支持体(11)、前記第1の電極(13)、および前記溶液(15)が光透過性であることと、
同じ1つの前記画素表示素子(1’)の前記副画素表示素子(1)の前記粒子(16)が所定の駆動周波数の下で電気的に分極可能であることと、
前記副画素表示素子(1)に電気的に結合され、前記各副画素表示素子(1)に電圧信号を供給し、前記副画素表示素子(1)に供給される電圧信号が同じ所定の駆動周波数を有する駆動回路(17)と、
前記各画素表示素子(1)の前記第1の支持体(11)、前記第2の支持体(12)、前記溶液(15)、および前記粒子(16)が、それぞれの色特性を備え、それによって、前記各副画素表示素子(1)が、前記粒子(16)が分極されず、前記溶液(15)中で不規則に分散される第1の表示状態であるときに第1の色を表示することができ、前記副画素表示素子(1)が、前記所定の駆動周波数を有する前記電圧信号を前記駆動回路(17)から供給されて前記粒子(16)を分極し、その結果前記溶液(15)中に前記粒子(16)のストリングが形成される第2の状態であるときに第2の色を表示することができ、
