Description
Claims (18)
- エレクトロルミネッセンスディスプレイのディスプレイ駆動部を制御するディスプレイ駆動部制御回路であって、前記ディスプレイは、表示素子を駆動する少なくとも1つの実質的定電流発生器を備えており、前記制御回路は、
前記定電流発生器によって電流が調整される第1の線の駆動電圧を検知する駆動電圧センサと、
供給線から前記定電流発生器へ提供される供給電圧からオフセットされた参照電圧を提供する参照電圧発生器と、
前記参照電圧と前記駆動電圧との差を決定して調整信号を生成する手段と
を備え、前記調整信号に応じて前記供給電圧を調整するように電圧制御部が構成されるディスプレイ駆動部制御回路。 - 前記ディスプレイは、複数のエレクトロルミネッセンス表示素子と複数の実質的定電流発生器とを有するパッシブマトリクスディスプレイであり、前記駆動電圧センサは、最大電圧を検知するように構成され、前記決定手段は、前記参照電圧と前記最大電圧との差を決定するように構成された比較器である請求項1に記載のディスプレイ駆動部制御回路。
- 前記駆動電圧センサは、複数のトランジスタを備え、前記複数のトランジスタのそれぞれは、前記定電流発生器によって電流が調整される線へのゲート接続を有しており、前記複数のトランジスタの各ソース端子は、共に前記供給線に接続され、前記複数のトランジスタの各ドレイン端子は、共にさらなる線に接続される請求項2に記載のディスプレイ駆動部制御回路。
- 前記トランジスタは、nチャネル電界効果トランジスタである請求項3に記載のディスプレイ駆動部制御回路。
- 前記さらなる線は、グラウンド電位に、または前記供給電圧より下の電位にある請求項3または4に記載のディスプレイ駆動部制御回路。
- 前記参照電圧発生器は、いくつかの接合電圧を備える上記請求項のいずれか1項に記載のディスプレイ駆動部制御回路。
- 前記電圧制御部は、DC−DCコンバータを備える上記請求項のいずれかに記載のディスプレイ駆動部制御回路。
- 前記エレクトロルミネッセンス表示素子は、有機発光ダイオードを備える上記請求項のいずれかに記載のディスプレイ駆動部制御回路。
- 前記パッシブマトリクスディスプレイは、行と列とのアレイを備え、前記回路は、マルチラインアドレッシング用に構成される請求項2に記載のディスプレイ駆動部制御回路。
- 前記エレクトロルミネッセンス素子のルミネッセンスは、前記素子への連続する駆動信号の実質的線形和によって得られる請求項9に記載のディスプレイ駆動回路。
- エレクトロルミネッセンスディスプレイを駆動するディスプレイ駆動部の電源電圧を調整する方法であって、前記ディスプレイは、少なくとも1つのエレクトロルミネッセンス表示素子を備え、前記駆動部は、前記表示素子を駆動する少なくとも1つの実質的定電流発生器を含むとともに前記電流発生器に前記電源電圧を供給する電源供給線を有しており、前記方法は、
前記供給電圧からオフセットされた駆動電圧を検知し、
参照電圧と前記駆動電圧との差を決定して調整信号を生成し、
前記調整信号に応じて前記供給電圧を制御する
ことを含む方法。 - 前記ディスプレイは、複数のエレクトロルミネッセンス表示素子と複数の実質的定電流発生器とを有するパッシブマトリクスディスプレイであり、前記駆動電圧の検知は、最大電圧を検知することを含み、前記決定は、前記参照電圧と前記最大電圧との差を決定することを含む請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記パッシブマトリクスディスプレイは、行電極と列電極とのアレイを備え、前記ディスプレイを駆動する方法は、2つ以上の行電極を駆動すると同時に複数の列電極を駆動することを含む請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記エレクトロルミネッセンス素子の所望のルミネッセンスは、前記画素への連続する駆動信号の実質的線形和によって得られる請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記エレクトロルミネッセンス素子は、有機発光ダイオードを備える請求項11ないし14のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記制御ステップは、前記供給電圧を上昇させること、または前記供給電圧を低下させることのいずれか一方を含み、前記供給電圧の上昇は、前記供給電圧の低下よりも迅速に行われる請求項11ないし15のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 実質的に上に、および/または添付の図面の図6を参照して記載されたディスプレイ駆動部。
- 実質的に上に、および/または添付の図面の図6を参照して記載された、ディスプレイ駆動部の電源電圧を調整する方法。
