本発明は、一般に、加圧貯蔵容器から気体、液体又は乾燥材料を放出するための放出バルブに関し、より詳しくは、加圧貯蔵容器から材料を放出するための遠隔操作シングルアクション放出バルブに関する。
気体若しくは液体又はそれらの混合物、又は乾燥材料若しくは粉末といった材料を加圧容器から放出する放出バルブを設けることがしばしば望まれ、更にそのようなバルブを遠隔で作動させることが望ましい。たいてい、放出される材料は腐食性であり、バルブの作動前のある期間に亘ってバルブの内部構成要素を腐食し得る。爆薬を使用してピストンを駆動し穿孔要素にバルブシールを押し破らせる従来技術の手法が知られているが、そのような手法は、発火するかもしれない可燃性放出材料と共に使用される場合に望ましくない。

Claims (20)
- 容器の内容物を放出するためのシングルアクション放出バルブであって、前記バルブは、
(a)前記内容物が放出される通路を有するバルブボディと、
(b)前記バルブボディ内に保持される脆弱シールであって、当該シールが元の状態のままである間、前記通路を密封する脆弱シールと、
(c)選択的作動のために電力源と選択的接続するソレノイドであって、前記ソレノイドは第1の位置から第2の位置に移動可能なアーマチュアを含んでおり、
(d)前記脆弱シールを少なくとも2つの部片に破砕するための衝撃手段とを備えており、前記衝撃手段は前記アーマチュアによって移動させられて前記アーマチュアが前記第2の位置に移動した時に前記シールを破壊する、シングルアクション放出バルブ。 - 前記アーマチュアは実質的に前記通路の外面である、請求項1に記載のバルブ。
- 前記バルブは前記ソレノイドが作動するまで前記アーマチュアを前記第1の位置に保持するための磁石を更に備える、請求項2に記載のバルブ。
- 前記シールは前記バルブボディ内部にその外周で保持されたガラス円板である、請求項2に記載のバルブ。
- 前記衝撃手段は前記アーマチュアから前記シールに向けて垂下している歯を含む、請求項2に記載のバルブ。
- 前記衝撃手段は前記アーマチュアから前記シールに向けて垂下している複数の歯を含む、請求項2に記載のバルブ。
- 前記通路はそれに沿って前記アーマチュアが前記第1の位置から前記第2の位置へ往復動する中心軸を有する、請求項6に記載のバルブ。
- 前記シールは前記バルブボディ内部にその外周で保持されたガラス円板である、請求項6に記載のバルブ。
- 前記通路はそれに沿って前記アーマチュアが前記第1の位置から前記第2の位置へ往復動する中心軸を有する、請求項8に記載のバルブ。
- 前記衝撃手段は、前記アーマチュアが前記第1の位置から前記第2の位置に移動する際に前記アーマチュアによる前記バルブボディ内部での往復動のために取付けられたピンを含む、請求項2に記載のバルブ。
- アーマチュアは前記ピンと係合するカム部を有しており、前記ピンの前記往復動は前記カム部が前記ピンと係合した時に前記アーマチュアに関して径方向の平面の内部にある、請求項10に記載のバルブ。
- 前記衝撃手段は、前記アーマチュアが前記第1の位置から前記第2の位置に移動する際に前記アーマチュアによる前記バルブボディ内部での往復動のために取付けられた複数のピンを含む、請求項2に記載のバルブ。
- 前記通路はそれに沿って前記アーマチュアが前記第1の位置から前記第2の位置へ往復動する中心軸を有する、請求項12に記載のバルブ。
- 前記シールは前記バルブボディ内部にその外周で保持されたガラス円板である、請求項12に記載のバルブ。
- 前記通路はそれに沿って前記アーマチュアが前記第1の位置から前記第2の位置へ往復動する中心軸を有する、請求項14に記載のバルブ。
- 前記ピンは前記軸の周りに離間されており、前記ピンの前記往復動は前記軸にほぼ平行である、請求項12に記載のバルブ。
- アーマチュアは前記ピンと係合するカム部を有しており、前記ピンの前記往復動は前記カム部が前記ピンと係合した時に前記アーマチュアに関して径方向である、請求項12に記載のバルブ。
- 前記シールは半球状部分を有しており、前記半球状部分は前記ピンの前記往復動中の前記ピンによる衝撃のために配置された側壁を有する、請求項17に記載のバルブ。
- 消火装置であって、
(a)請求項1に記載の前記バルブと、
(b)電力源と、
(c)前記バルブとの前記電力源の選択的接続のために前記バルブと前記電力源との間に挿入された制御手段と、
(d)前記制御手段に有効に接続された複数の入力とを備えており、前記制御手段は、前記電力源を前記バルブに接続することによって前記複数の入力に応答を示すものであり、前記複数の入力は、
i.約0.2ミクロン乃至10ミクロンの範囲の光エネルギーに応答を示す赤外線センサと、
ii.ある所定の温度を超える温度に応答を示す温度センサとを含む、消火装置。 - 前記複数の入力は押しボタンを更に含む、請求項19に記載の消火装置。
