Abstract
Description
その結果得られる炭素発泡体は、約65%〜約95%、より好ましくは、約70〜約95%の全孔隙率を有する。通常孔隙率のような特徴、並びに、個々の孔のサイズ及び形状は、明視野照明を用いるエポキシ顕微鏡マウント(epoxy microscopy mount)を使用するなどして光学的に測定され、かつ、メディアサイベメチック社(Media Cybemetic)(マリーランド州、シルバースプリングに所在する。)製のイメージ−プロソフトウェア(Image-Pro Software)のような商業用ソフトウェアを用いて決定することができる。
Claims (17)
- 内部に補助材が配された孔を有する炭素発泡体を含む炭素発泡体複合体であって、前記炭素発泡体複合体の表面エネルギー及び液体親和性が、前記炭素発泡体の表面エネルギー及び液体親和性と異なることを特徴とする炭素発泡体複合体。
- 前記補助材が、電気重合可能なポリマーであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の炭素発泡体複合体。
- 前記補助材が、金属であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の炭素発泡体複合体。
- 前記補助材が、黒鉛化可能な発泡体前駆体であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の炭素発泡体複合体。
- 前記補助材が、触媒であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の炭素発泡体複合体。
- 前記補助材が、表面における2つのセル直径以内の前記炭素発泡体の孔のみを満たすことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の炭素発泡体複合体。
- 前記補助材が、ポリマー発泡体であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の炭素発泡体複合体。
- 前記ポリマー発泡体が、ポリビニルアルコール、ポリ塩化ビニル、ポリビニルブチラール、ポリウレタン樹脂、ポリスチレン、アクリル、エポキシ、フェノール、ポリイミド、ポリメチレン、ポリスチレン、ポリオレフィン、ポリウレタン、及び、これらの組み合わせからなる群から選択されたものであることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の炭素発泡体複合体。
- もとの炭素発泡体を提供して、前記炭素発泡体の孔に補助材を導入することを含む内部に補助材を含んだ孔を有する炭素発泡体の製造方法であって、前記補助材/もとの炭素発泡体が、前記もとの炭素発泡体とは異なる表面エネルギー及び液体親和性を有することを特徴とする製造方法。
- 前記製造方法が、a)炭素発泡体に熱可塑性ポリマーを注入して、前記熱可塑性ポリマーを含んだ炭素発泡体を製造するステップと、b)前記熱可塑性ポリマーを含んだ炭素発泡体を所定の温度で加圧するステップと、c)前記熱可塑性ポリマーを含んだ炭素発泡体に対する前記加圧を解除して、前記炭素発泡体内の前記ポリマーを発泡させるステップと、を含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の製造方法。
- 前記ステップ(a)における前記熱可塑性ポリマーが、疎水性の熱可塑性ポリマーであることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の製造方法。
- 前記ステップ(a)における前記熱可塑性ポリマーを真空注入によって注入することを特徴とする請求項10に記載の製造方法。
- 前記ステップ(a)における前記熱可塑性ポリマーを、圧力充填によって注入することを特徴とする請求項10に記載の製造方法。
- 前記ステップ(b)における前記熱可塑性ポリマーを含んだ炭素発泡体を、少なくとも二酸化炭素を含有するガスによって加圧することを特徴とする請求項10に記載の製造方法。
- 前記炭素発泡体は、黒鉛発泡体であることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の製造方法。
- 前記製造方法が、a)発泡剤と予混合された樹脂を注入して、前記樹脂を注入した炭素発泡体を形成するステップと、b)前記樹脂を注入した炭素発泡体を加熱して、前記炭素発泡体内で前記樹脂を発泡させるステップと、を含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の製造方法。
- 前記炭素発泡体の前記孔の内部に金属を蒸着することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の製造方法。
