Abstract
Description
本出願は2006年12月29日出願の米国特許仮出願第60/882,754号の利益を主張するものであり、その開示の全内容を参照により本明細書に援用する。
本発明は、形成後にセリウム又はマンガン添加物を添加することによって耐久性が改善された燃料電池ポリマー電解質薄膜(PEM)を製造する方法に関する。
ポリマー膜の中の添加物の「均一」分布は、添加物の存在量が、+/−90%を超えてばらつかないこと、より典型的には+/−50%を超えて、より典型的には+/−20%を超えてばらつかないことを意味し、
ポリマーの「当量」(EW)は、塩基の1当量を中和するポリマーの重量を意味し、
「多価カチオン」は、2+以上の電荷を有するカチオンを意味し、
「高フッ素化」は、40重量%以上、典型的には50重量%以上、より典型的には60重量%以上の量でフッ素を含有することを意味し、並びに
アニオン性官能基に関して「酸形態」は、プロトンにより中和されることを意味する。
Claims (20)
- 耐久性のある燃料電池ポリマー電解質薄膜を製造する方法であって、
a)ポリマー電解質薄膜を用意する工程と、
b)マンガン塩及びセリウム塩からなる群から選択される塩の溶液を用意する工程と、
c)前記ポリマー電解質薄膜の一方の側に溶液を適用する工程と、
を含む製造方法。 - 前記塩がマンガン塩である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記塩がセリウム塩である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 工程c)が、ブラッシング、スプレー、及びスロットダイを使用することからなる群から選択される方法によって行なわれる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 工程c)がポリマー電解質薄膜への溶液の定量適用によって行なわれる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 工程c)が、スプレーによるか又はスロットダイの使用による電解質薄膜への溶液の定量適用によって行なわれる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記溶液の適用量は、ポリマー電解質薄膜を飽和させるほどではない、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 耐久性のある燃料電池ポリマー電解質薄膜を製造する方法であって、
a)ポリマー電解質薄膜を用意する工程と、
b)酸化マンガン及び酸化セリウムからなる群から選択される化合物の粒子の懸濁液を用意する工程と、
c)前記ポリマー電解質薄膜の一方の側に懸濁液を適用する工程と、
を含む製造方法。 - 前記化合物が酸化マンガンである、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記化合物が酸化セリウムである、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 工程c)が、ブラッシング、スプレー、及びスロットダイを使用することからなる群から選択される方法によって行なわれる、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 工程c)が、前記ポリマー電解質薄膜への前記懸濁液の定量適用によって行なわれる、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 工程c)が、スプレーによるか又はスロットダイの使用によるポリマー電解質薄膜への懸濁液の定量適用によって行なわれる、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 懸濁液の適用量は、ポリマー電解質薄膜を飽和させるほどではない請求項8に記載の方法。
- a)2つの面を有するポリマー電解質薄膜と、
b)前記ポリマー電解質薄膜の一面上の酸化マンガン及び酸化セリウムからなる群から選択される化合物の粒子の層と、
を備える耐久性のある燃料電池ポリマー電解質薄膜。 - 前記化合物が酸化マンガンである、請求項15に記載の耐久性のある燃料電池ポリマー電解質薄膜。
- 前記化合物が酸化セリウムである、請求項15に記載の耐久性のある燃料電池ポリマー電解質薄膜。
- 請求項15に記載の耐久性のある燃料電池ポリマー電解質薄膜を備える、燃料電池薄膜電極組立体。
- 請求項16に記載の耐久性のある燃料電池ポリマー電解質薄膜を備える、燃料電池薄膜電極組立体。
- 請求項17に記載の耐久性のある燃料電池ポリマー電解質薄膜を備える、燃料電池薄膜電極組立体。
