Abstract
【解決手段】この表示装置100は、基板12と、基板12の表示領域12aの略全面を覆うように形成される単一の膜からなる陽極15と、平面的に見て、陽極15と重なり、表示領域12aの略全面を覆うように形成される単一の膜からなる陰極18と、陽極15と陰極18との間に配置され、陽極15と陰極18とに電気的に接続される複数の島状の発光素子17とを備える。

図1〜図3を参照して、本発明の第1実施形態による表示装置100の構成について説明する。
次に、図5を参照して、本発明の第2実施形態について説明する。この第2実施形態では、上記第1実施形態と異なり、ボトムエミッション型の発光素子53を有する表示装置110について説明する。

Claims (8)
- 基板と、
前記基板の表示領域の略全面を覆うように形成される単一の膜からなる第1透明電極と、
平面的に見て、前記第1透明電極と重なり、前記表示領域の略全面を覆うように形成される単一の膜からなる第2透明電極と、
前記第1透明電極と前記第2透明電極との間に配置され、複数の島状の発光素子とを備える、照明装置。 - 前記第1透明電極および前記第2透明電極は略矩形であり、
前記第1透明電極は、平面的に見て、前記第2透明電極の一方の辺側において前記第2透明電極からはみ出した部分を有し、
前記第1透明電極の前記第2透明電極からはみ出した部分に正電圧または負電圧の一方が接続されるとともに、前記第2透明電極は、前記第2透明電極の一方の辺と対向する他方の辺が前記第1透明電極からはみ出し、前記第2透明電極の第1透明電極からはみ出した部分は、正電圧または負電圧の他方が接続されている、請求項1に記載の照明装置。 - 前記第1透明電極と、前記第2透明電極との間に設けられる絶縁膜をさらに備え、
前記発光素子は、前記絶縁膜に設けられる穴部を介して、前記第1透明電極と前記第2透明電極とに直接接触するように形成されている、請求項1または2に記載の照明装置。 - 前記発光素子は、前記第1透明電極および前記第2透明電極のうち一方の電極に直接接触するように形成されているとともに、前記第1透明電極および前記第2透明電極のうち他方の電極と前記発光素子との間には島状の電極が形成されている、請求項1または2に記載の照明装置。
- 前記絶縁膜は、平面的に見て、前記第1透明電極と前記第2透明電極との重なり部分の前記第1透明電極と前記第2透明電極との間に加えて、前記第1透明電極の側面と前記第2透明電極とが対向する部分の前記第1透明電極と前記第2透明電極との間に配置されている、請求項3または4に記載の照明装置。
- 平面的に見て前記発光素子と重なるように設けられる遮光膜および反射膜をさらに備え、
前記遮光膜は、前記基板の表面上に直接接触するように形成されているとともに、前記反射膜は、前記遮光膜の前記発光素子と対向する側の表面上に設けられている、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の照明装置。 - 平面的に見て前記発光素子と重なるように設けられる遮光膜および反射膜をさらに備え、
前記反射膜は、前記第2透明電極の表面上に設けられるとともに、前記遮光膜は、前記反射膜の表面上に設けられている、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の照明装置。 - 反射型あるいは半透過型の表示パネルの観察者側に、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の照明装置を備える、表示装置。
