Abstract
【解決手段】本発明に係る液晶表示装置は入力映像から輝度と色差情報を分離する輝度抽出部と、制限APLを入力受けるユーザーインターフェースと、前記輝度抽出部からの輝度に基礎して前記入力映像の平均APLを計算して前記平均APLが前記制限APLより高ければ前記平均APLが前記制限APL以内に調整されるように前記入力映像の輝度それぞれを変調した後、前記変調された輝度と前記色差情報をRGBデータに変換するAPL制限部と、前記APL制限部からのRGBデータを液晶表示パネルに表示する駆動回路を備える。

Claims (10)
- 入力映像で輝度と色差情報を分離する輝度抽出部と、
制限APLの入力を受けるユーザーインターフェースと、
前記輝度抽出部からの輝度に基づいて前記入力映像の平均APLを計算し、前記平均APLが前記制限APLより高ければ前記平均APLが前記制限APL以内に調整されるように前記入力映像の輝度それぞれを変調した後、前記変調された輝度と前記色差情報をRGBデータに変換するAPL制限部と、
前記APL制限部からのRGBデータを液晶表示パネルに表示する駆動回路と
を備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記制限APLは使用者の選択によって調整できることを特徴とする、請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記APL制限部は、
前記平均APLが前記制限APL以下であると、前記入力映像の輝度を変調しないで未変調された輝度と前記色差情報をRGBデータに変換することを特徴とする、請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記APL制限部は、
前記入力映像の輝度それぞれをデ−ガムマ補正して前記入力映像の輝度ガンマ特性を線形化した後に線形化された前記輝度に基づいて前記入力映像の平均APLを計算して、
前記RGBデータに変換するのに先立って前記変調された輝度それぞれをガンマ補正して前記入力映像の非線形ガンマ特性に逆変換することを特徴とする、請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。 - 入力映像で輝度と色差情報を分離する輝度抽出部と、
前記輝度抽出部からの輝度に基づいて前記入力映像の平均APLを計算し、前記平均APLがあらかじめ設定された基準APLより高ければ前記入力映像の輝度それぞれを変調して前記平均APLをあらかじめ設定された調整幅だけ低めた後前記変調された輝度と前記色差情報をRGBデータに変換するAPL制限部と、
前記APL制限部からのRGBデータを液晶表示パネルに表示する駆動回路と
を備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 入力映像で輝度と色差情報を分離する段階と、
制限APLの入力をユーザーインターフェースを通じて受ける段階と、
前記輝度に基づいて前記入力映像の平均APLを計算する段階と、
前記平均APLが前記制限APLより高ければ前記平均APLが前記制限APL以内に調整されるように前記入力映像の輝度それぞれを変調する段階と、
前記変調された輝度と前記色差情報をRGBデータに変換する段階と、
前記RGBデータを液晶表示パネルに表示する段階と
を含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記制限APLは使用者の選択によって調整できることを特徴とする、請求項6記載の液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記平均APLが前記制限APL以下であると、前記入力映像の輝度を変調しないで未変調された輝度と前記色差情報をRGBデータに変換する段階をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項6記載の液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記入力映像の平均APLを計算する段階は、
前記入力映像の輝度それぞれをデ−ガムマ補正して前記入力映像の輝度ガンマ特性を線形化する段階と、
前記線形化された輝度に基づいて前記入力映像の平均APLを計算する段階とを含み、
前記RGBデータに変換する段階は、
前記変調された輝度それぞれをガンマ補正して前記入力映像の非線形ガンマ特性に逆変換する段階と、
前記非線形ガンマ特性に逆変換された輝度と前記色差情報をRGBデータに変換する段階を含むことを特徴とする、請求項6記載の液晶表示装置の駆動方法。 - 入力映像から輝度と色差情報を分離する段階と、
前記輝度抽出部からの輝度に基づいて前記入力映像の平均APLを計算する段階と、
前記平均APLがあらかじめ設定された基準APLより高ければ前記入力映像の輝度それぞれを変調して前記平均APLをあらかじめ設定された調整幅だけ低める段階と、
前記変調された輝度と前記色差情報をRGBデータに変換する段階と、
前記RGBデータを液晶表示パネルに表示する段階と
を含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
