Claims (8)
- ピクチャを含む可変長符号化デジタルビデオデータを、前記ピクチャの全サイズより小さいサイズに、復号化するための方法であって、各ピクチャは複数のマクロブロックを含み、
前記デジタルビデオデータに含まれるマクロブロックを識別するように前記デジタルビデオデータを分析するステップ、
前記デジタルビデオデータを受けるデコーダの入力バッファにおいて、複数の利用レベルの1つを示す信号を生成するステップであって、前記複数の利用レベルはアンダーフロー状態及びオーバーフロー状態を有する、ステップ、
所定の視認可能な表示領域に該当するピクチャ領域に関連しないマクロブロックを前記デジタルビデオデータから切捨てるステップであって、前記所定の視認可能な表示領域は、前記ピクチャの中央部を含んでいる、ステップ、
前記複数の表示レベルの1つを示す信号が前記オーバーフロー状態を示す場合には、追加のマクロブロックを切り捨て、前記複数の表示レベルの1つを示す信号が前記アンダーフロー状態を示す場合には、切り捨てられずに残った前記デジタルビデオデータにパディング情報を追加する、ステップ及び、
前記切捨てられずに残ったデジタルビデオデータを前記デコーダの入力バッファへ格納するステップ、
を含む方法。 - 前記分析するステップは、前記デジタルビデオデータからマクロブロックのアドレス印及びスライスの位置印の一方を抽出するステップを含み、
前記切捨てるステップは、所定のマクロブロックのアドレス印、又は所定のスライスの位置印に関連するマクロブロックを切捨てるステップを含む、請求項1の方法。 - 更に、切捨てられるマクロブロックに関連する予測情報を利用する切捨てでないマクロブロックを識別するステップ、及び、
前記識別された切捨てでないマクロブロックが更に切捨てでないマクロブロックに関連する予測情報を利用する場合には、前記識別された切捨てでないマクロブロックを形成するために、切捨てでないマクロブロックに関連する前記予測情報だけを利用するステップ、を含む、請求項1の方法。 - 更に、切捨てられるマクロブロックに関連する予測情報を利用する切捨てでないマクロブロックを識別するステップ、
各識別された切捨てでないマクロブロックに対して、それぞれの近接して表示されるマクロブロック領域を識別するステップ、
各識別された切捨てでないマクロブロックに対して、それぞれの領域のモーション補償パラメータを推定するために前記それぞれの近接して表示されるマクロブロック領域を利用するステップ、及び、
各識別された切捨てでないマクロブロックに対して、前記それぞれの領域のモーション補償パラメータを利用してモーション補償パラメータを計算するステップ、を含む、請求項1の方法。 - ピクチャを含む可変長符号化デジタルビデオデータを、前記ピクチャの全サイズより小さいサイズに、復号化するためのシステムで使用するための装置であって、各ピクチャは複数のマクロブロックを含み、
切り捨てられずに残った前記デジタルビデオデータを格納し、複数の利用レベルの1つを示す信号を生成する入力バッファであって、前記複数の利用レベルはアンダーフロー状態及びオーバーフロー状態を有する、入力バッファ、
前記入力バッファに接続されており、前記デジタルビデオデータに含まれるマクロブロックを識別するように前記デジタルビデオデータを分析し、データ低減符号化デジタルビデオデータを生成するように所定の視認可能な表示領域に関連しないマクロブロックを前記デジタルビデオデータから切捨て、前記複数の表示レベルの1つを示す信号が前記オーバーフロー状態を示す場合には追加のマクロブロックを切り捨て、前記複数の表示レベルの1つを示す信号が前記アンダーフロー状態を示す場合には、前記切り捨てられずに残ったデジタルビデオデータにパディング情報を追加するためのビットストリームトリマであって、前記所定の視認可能な表示領域は、前記ピクチャの中央部を含んでいる、ビットストリームトリマ、及び
前記入力バッファに接続され、ビデオ信号を生成するように前記データ低減符号化デジタルビデオデータを復号化するためのビデオデコーダ、を備える、装置。 - 前記ビットストリームトリマは、ディスプレイ装置のネイティブモードを示す表示モード制御信号に応答して、前記指示される表示モードに関連しないピクチャ領域に関連するマクロブロックを応答して切捨てる、請求項5の装置。
- 前記ビデオデコーダは、前記デジタルビデオデータ内に含まれるモーション予測情報に応答するモーション補償器を含む、請求項5の装置。
- 前記モーション補償器は、切捨てられるマクロブロックからのモーション予測情報を利用するマクロブロックの場合には、前記モーション補償情報を必要とする前記マクロブロックに近接するマクロブロック領域の平均モーション推定を利用することにより、前記切捨てられるモーション補償情報を推定する、請求項7の装置。
