Abstract

Claims (7)
- セラミック構造体を乾燥する方法において、
マイクロ波発生源からマイクロ波輻射を提供する工程、
中間部及び少なくとも1つの端部を有するセラミックハニカム構造体を提供する工程、
前記セラミックハニカム構造体を前記マイクロ波輻射にさらす工程、及び
前記セラミックハニカム構造体の前記中間部で吸収される前記マイクロ波輻射が前記セラミックハニカム構造の前記少なくとも1つの端部で吸収される前記マイクロ波輻射より約0%から約60%多い範囲内にあるように、前記セラミックハニカム構造の前記少なくとも1つの端部を、前記マイクロ波輻射を直接受けないように遮蔽する工程、
を有してなる方法。 - 前記セラミックハニカム構造体の前記中間部で吸収される前記マイクロ波輻射が、前記セラミックハニカム構造の前記少なくとも1つの端部で吸収される前記マイクロ波輻射より約10%から約40%多い範囲内にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記遮蔽する工程が、前記マイクロ波発生源と前記セラミック構造体の間に配置された少なくとも1つのシールド部材であって、前記セラミックハニカム構造体の一部分に重なり、よって前記セラミックハニカム構造体の前記部分を、前記マイクロ波輻射を直接受けないように遮蔽するシールド部材を提供する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記遮蔽する工程が、前記セラミックハニカム構造体の直上に前記少なくとも1つのシールド部材を配置する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つのシールド部材を提供する前記工程が、前記セラミックハニカム構造体の第1の端部に重なるように前記少なくとも1つのシールド部材を配置する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記遮蔽する工程が、前記セラミックハニカム構造体の全長の約0%から約30%の範囲に重なるように、前記少なくとも1つのシールド部材を配置する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記遮蔽する工程が、前記セラミックハニカム構造体から前記マイクロ波輻射の波長の約1.5倍以下の距離に前記少なくとも1つのシールド部材を配置する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
